METALACHI – the world’s first and only heavy metal mariachi band – have announced several spring tour dates, beginning May 24! The band will perform in Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona and New Mexico, wrapping up on June 16. Before then, the band will perform six one-off shows, the first four of which act as METALACHI‘s very in-demand “Cinco De Mayo” dates. 

METALACHI was personally invited by comedian George Lopez to perform at the first show, Vee Quiva Hotel on May 2, as part of the grand opening of his Chingon Kitchen at the same location. See below for all currently confirmed dates. Hailing from Hollywood, CA via Juarez, Mexico, METALACHI is a musical/comedy stage show that somehow seamlessly blends the world of Spinal Tap and Cheech & Chong into an over-the-top stage spectacle. The band is comprised of a five-piece ensemble of classically trained mariachi musician siblings, that have been fused together with the power of heavy metal. “It’s been a while since Sworn Enemy had a chance to film a video and we are pretty stoked the way ‘Coming Undone’ came out,” cites singer Sal Lococco. “Hope you all dig it!” 

SWORN ENEMY will spend much of 2019 touring in support of “Gamechanger,” beginning with a series of record-release shows along the East Coast. From there, the band will join forces with thrash legends Sacred Reich for a number of performances across America. See below for the group’s current itinerary.

Additional dates – including the band’s first shows of the year in Europe – are in the works. SWORN ENEMY was first signed by Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta, who released the group’s first two EPs on his Stillborn Recordings label in 2001 and 2002. He also produced the band’s full-length debut, “As Real As It Gets,” memorably praised by Lambgoat as “music that inspires you to want to beat the living piss out of the next unsuspecting person who walks in the room.”

The album was released by Elektra Records in 2003, a year that saw the band deliver memorable performances on tour with Ozzfest. In the 15 years since, SWORN ENEMY released four additional albums of punishing metallic hardcore and toured with a number of notable acts, including Anthrax, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Sepultura, Suicide Silence, Dying Fetus, Earth Crisis, Madball, Biohazard and Hatebreed.

“’The Promise’ was inspired by my days spent driving from my neighborhood on the west side of Cincinnati and heading towards the city and into northern Kentucky where I spent almost all of my teenage years in bands, working on a dream,” says Black. “Every day I would use that drive as a chance to plan and think and hope and wish that one day I would be able to make music and tour the world. Over the years that dream has remained, but like all of us as we grow up, often our interests and methods change over time. This song is about trying to remain true to what you wanted the most when you had nothing and keeping that very same passion and drive close to your heart.”

“The Promise” is the third song Black’s released over the course of the past several weeks following lead single “Westwood Road” (which has amassed over 1.5 million YouTube views) and title track “The Ghost Of Ohio” and all three songs are available as instant downloads by clicking HERE to pre-order The Ghost Of Ohio ahead of its April 12^th release date.

The Ghost Of Ohio sees Black re-teaming with Grammy nominated producer John Feldmann (Blink-182, Panic! at the Disco), who helmed 2016’s acclaimed debut The Shadow Side.

Black, who’s always had a reverence for the magical convergence of sight and sound, created the diverse album to also serve as a soundtrack for its graphic novel counterpart, marrying melancholy themes with upbeat rock and pop to tell the tale of someone who died young and whose spirit inhabits an area for a hundred years looking for ways to connect. The album’s artwork was painted by Eliran Kantor (Iced Earth, Testament).

MEGADETH celebrate their 35^th Anniversary with the release of Warheads On Foreheads, a 35-track, career retrospective. The anthology spans the bands entire studio recording career, from their first album “Killing Is My Business…” to their 2017 GRAMMY® Award winning release “Dystopia”. The collection of songs is available as a 3-CD set, a 4-LP set and a digital edition via UMe Recordings. A limited edition, four-LP set pressed on silver colored vinyl will be available exclusively through the band’s online store.

For those of you looking for a career spanning collection of songs from one of the Big 4 of trash look no further than the recently released “Warheads On Foreheads” collection from the one and only Megadeth. The three CD, four LP set includes all the songs Megadeth fans have come to love over the past thirty five years. Chronologically arranged Disc 1 includes songs such as “Mechanix”, “Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good” and “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due”. Disc Two includes tracks like the shred-tastic “Hangar 18” and from the bands 1992 release “Countdown to Extinction” the songs “Symphony of Destruction” and “Sweating Bullets”. Disc 3 covers the bands recordings from 1997 “Cryptic Writings” up to 2016’s “Dystopia”. Here listeners can find tracks like “Trust”, “Head Crusher” and my person favorite “Public Enemy No. 1”.
 
Production and Packaging is top notch as the 3-CD set comes packaged in a multi fold case complete with linear notes booklet. Sonically the collection features a universal mix across each of the three discs making for a great listening experience be it in the car, on your home stereo or through headphones. The piece I found lacking in this collection is there really is nothing new for longtime fans of the band. Aside from some new artwork that is it. In a career compilation such as this I would have thought including an unreleased performance video or behind the scenes footage would be a no brainer givings collectors a reason to buy the release but sadly that is not the case. If you have never bought a Megadeth album before then “Warheads on Foreheads” is the perfect pickup to get your feet wet however, unless you’re a collection completist I would skip this as it contains no new or unreleased material.

Bay Area thrash metal legends DEATH ANGEL will release their long-awaited 9th full-length album, Humanicide, on May 31st with Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band has unveiled the artwork, tracklisting and the record’s first new single, the title track, via visualizer. With their forthcoming album Humanicide, DEATH ANGEL has maintained their throne in the universe of Thrash while still managing to remain progressive in their style. They apply a wide variety of different elements to their music, always pushing to add newness to their sound. This time around they’ve included everything from acoustic bits, to guest musicians, to even (for the first time) the notes of a piano. All 10 songs flow seamlessly yet each leaves its own distinct impression.

The first single and title track “Humanicide” triumphantly represents the entirety of the album, immediately energizing the listener. Osegueda remarks: 

“I wanted to write something that metal fans could really grasp onto. Something dark and intense, that still makes sense. Right now I think it’s so apparent that the earth is in a sickened state.” “When I wrote the music for our song “Humanicide,” I was shooting for an album opener that would have all the elements of an epic thrash opus.  This meant a classic metal style intro leading into a ferocious “Bay Area Thrash Riff-o-Rama” complete with a crazy middle build up section to ramp up the circle pit until it’s all whipped up into a frenzy by the time the frenetic guitar solo hits, then concluding with a maniacal musical section leading into the outro.  All it needed was the lyrics and vocal delivery to match the intensity and Mark went above and beyond the call of duty!  Some of his best work in my opinion.  One of my favorite DA songs for sure, it feels like the follow up to our song “Thrown to the Wolves”.  Can’t wait to play it live!” – Rob Cavestany 

For the 4th album cycle in a row, DEATH ANGEL returned to their producer and friend Jason Suecof (DEICIDE, TRIVIUM) of Audiohammer studios for the recording and mixing, along with the mastering of the legendary Ted Jensen (SLIPKNOT, PANTERA) of Sterling Sound who added the final touches and brought it all to life, with artist Brent Elliott White (LAMB OF GOD, MEGADETH) providing the ominous cover artwork.

Masked Intruder return with the follow up release to their 2016 EP “Love and Other Crimes” simply titled “III” the album consists of 12 brand new tracks which were produced by Roger Lima (Less Than Jake) and Mike Kennerty (All American Rejects) at The Moat House in Gainesville, FL. “III” is the bands second release and first full-length album to be released via Pure Noise Records.

Intruder Red, Yellow, Blue and Green are back terrorizing your neighborhood with their latest album “III” but, have no fear Officer Bradford is in hot pursuit attempting to retrieve your valuables. Packed full of tongue and cheek lyrics and pogo ensuing punk rhythms “III” is an enjoyable listen from beginning to end. Tracks like “No Case” and “I’m Free (At Last)” are spewing over with energy and laughable subject matter while tracks like “All Of My Love” and “Stay With Me Tonight” cover more emotional topics set perfectly against the bands signature pop-punk style.

If you had a chance to catch the band on one of their many recent tours then you already know just how fun the band is live. “III” captures that same energy and enjoyment over the course of its twelve tracks giving you that same experience listen after listen. The only thing missing is a partially dressed Officer Bradford as the colorfully masked four piece have taken their musicality to another level with their latest offering.

“Top of the World” is a reminder to take a step back from your reality and evaluate your current situation to make sure you’re running positive and sifting thru the chaos with an open mind.” – Jon Pebsworth (vocals) Formed nearly 3 decades ago in San Diego, BUCK-O-NINE were an integral part in the early 90’s ska scene, who shared the stages with acts like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and The Specials among others and helped spark a global ska phenomenon. Over the years the band released 5 albums, had songs featured in movies and television and enjoyed the success of multiple singles. 

Following the release of 2007’s Sustain, BUCK-O-NINE consistently performed live to fans both old and new in Western states, and has now regrouped for an introspective and infectious new record that shows they’ve still got it!. The band’s sixth full-length, FunDayMental, sees them once again combining elements of reggae, rocksteady, rock and punk into a unique amalgam of music that the act has pioneered since 1991. Amazingly, their lineup also features six out of seven founding members and their “newest” musician, bassist Andy Platfoot, has been in the band for 19 years. That sort of history makes Buck-O-Nine less of a band than they are a family and that dynamic is evident on all 14 songs on FunDayMental, which includes the band’s new material alongside reworked versions of fan favorites “My Town” and “Irish Drinking Song.”
