Having played every continent in the physical world, Metallica sets its sights on new frontiers with events across Fortnite this month.

Metallica becomes the first band to take center stage across all Fortnite experiences, with Metallica-themed gameplay coming to Fortnite Festival, Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and more starting tomorrow, June 13. Plus, as part of an all new music experience inside of Fortnite, Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. will bring a series of in-game concert performances to players only on June 22 and June 23.

Completely customized and built from the ground up using Unreal Editor for Fortnite by technology studio Magnopus, Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. is a brand-new playable concert that will journey through six of Metallica’s fan-favorite songs with themed gameplay that complements the intensity of a Metallica live show. This immersive music experience will have six different showtimes across two days:

Saturday, June 22, 2024
11 PM ET

Sunday, June 23, 2024
10 AM ET

The above times will be the only chance to experience the concert live.

James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo of Metallica are the icons of Fortnite Festival Season 4, where fans can shred along with Metallica on classics including “Enter Sandman,” “Ride the Lightning,” and “Master of Puppets.”

Metallica’s not just visiting Fortnite to perform—they’re here to battle. This new season of Fortnite Festival introduces the Battle Stage, a new competitive way to play the rhythm music game, and will be available even after the Metallica collaboration concludes.

Fortnite Festival’s Battle Stage will see 16 players in a match, all will play from the same four-song setlist, and one will emerge victorious.

Season 4 starts tomorrow and ends August 16, 2024 at 12 AM ET. For more info on Season 4, the “player-vs-player” (PvP) Battle Stage, check out the Fortnite Festival blog.

Metallica themed-gameplay is also coming to additional Fortnite games: Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, and Rocket Racing. For more information on the Metallica x Fortnite collaboration, visit the blog.

Guitar virtuoso John 5 is giving fans a look into his life and career with a brand-new song called “A Hollywood Story.” The track, and accompanying video, details John 5’s incredible journey, from picking up his first guitar at the age of 7 to recording acclaimed solo material and touring the world with the likes of Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Rob Halford and – currently – Mötley Crüe.

THE EFFECT Team Up With Steve Perry

Latest track from the band comprised of Trev Lukather,
Nic Collins, and Emmett Stang is available

Band Set To Open For Billy Idol In May Before
Heading To Europe This June To Play With Toto

With 2024 continuing to bring new highlights and opportunities for Los Angeles rockers The Effect, the trio comprised of Trev Lukather (son of Toto’s Steve Lukather) on guitars, Nic Collins (son of Phil Collins) on drums, and newcomer Emmett Stang on vocals have partnered with musical legend Steve Perry of Journey to record a cover of Journey’s “It Could Have Been You.” The song comes from Journey’s 1986 album Raised On Radio. The idea to work together came from a conversation between Trev and Steve and the rest of the band jumped at the chance to work with Perry. The song was produced by Trev Lukather and the music video marks the return of director Madison Leigh Lukather – who has directed all of the band’s videos – and features styling by The Sisters Closet. The song can be found via all Digital Service Providers here and the music video is now live here:

A message from Steve Perry about “It Could Have Been You:”

In 1986, the Journey “Raised on Radio” record was released and in it was a song I’ve always felt was a diamond in the ruff.

I’ve known Trev Lukather since he was 9 years old, and he is a very gifted musician.

One day we were talking about his new band, “The Effect” … He surprisingly mentioned “It Could Have Been You” is one of his favorite tracks from that record, I told him I felt the same. I then said, why don’t you record it? He asked if I would sing on it if they did, I said… “Of course, my most precious!”
I must say, singing on their powerful track brought out a vocal experience from years ago!

So now… Releasing on May 7th on all socials and streaming is a powerful reimagined version of
“It Could Have Been You” by.. “The Effect”. Have a listen !

Steve Perry

After the success of their first-ever live show last October and the response to their debut song “Unwanted,”the follow up “Something Wrong” and most recently “Toxic Envy,” The Effect have done a lot to develop their brand in less than 8 short months. The band has recently found mainstream attention with media partners like People Magazine, American Songwriter, Ultimate Classic Rock, Loudwire, and others all talking about the newcomers and their unique sound. The band even had the video for “Unwanted” reach #1 on the season finale of AXS TV’s flagship music program on Thursday nights – The Power Hour. The Effect has done a few shows opening for Steel Panther and most-recently with Evan Stanley. They recently announced some dates opening for Billy Idol in the United States and will be taking their music to Europe this June where they will open for Toto on a bunch of dates along with festival and headline shows. The band was recently added to the prestigious Isle Of Wight Festival 2024 where they will be performing on the River Stage on June 21st. More shows to be announced in the near future and information on tickets for all show can be found at:

Recently, original keyboardist Steve Maggiora announced his departure from the band in an Instagram post. “Sad to announce my departure from @theeffectband. I’m eternally grateful to @trevlukather @nic_collins, @emmettleestang, and the whole Effect family for having me, and though I will not be continuing as a member of the project, I’ll always be a fan and support as I can. It was a heartbreaking decision to make, but unfortunately unavoidable. Please keep following, supporting and sharing The Effect – the music we created is some of my favorites that I’ve ever worked on, they rock and are gonna take over and it’s gonna be iconic! #theeffect”

The Effect posted this in response: “It is with a heavy heart we announce the departure of our brother Steve Maggiora from The Effect. Although Steve will not be continuing as a member of the band, the collaboration does not end here. The Effect will be moving forward with the 3 core members Trev, Nic and Emmett. Steve has an amazing send off with the music video of “It Could Have Been You” We love you Steve!! @stevemaggioraofficial”

More information on the debut album for The Effect will be available in the future.

About The Effect:
The members of The Effect—Trev Lukather [guitar, producer], Nic Collins [drums], and Emmett Stang [lead vocals]—found each other at the perfect moment. Beyond serendipity, similar experiences cemented an instant bond between these musicians. Each member had logged miles on the road and countless hours in the studio on his own. Trev shined as a solo artist and producer and writer for the likes of Halestorm and Dorothy, Nic held down the drums on tour alongside Phil Collins, Genesis, and Mike + The Mechanics, and Emmett exploded with consistent viral success. Taking the connection one step further, Trev and Nic each grew up as the sons of rock icons—Steve Lukather of Toto and Phil Collins, respectively. They forged a friendship in 2023 and decided to write and record together, welcoming Steve and Emmett to the fold shortly after. The musicians congregated at Trev’s home studio in Los Angeles for “band camp” and immediately gelled, rallying around a signature sound infusing stadium rock energy and spirit with pop palatability. Now, they come together as The Effect, introducing their vision with the release of the songs “Unwanted,” “Something Wrong” and “Toxic Envy” with more still to come.

Heavy metal fans, prepare for the most electrifying tour of the year! Heavy metal frontrunners KK’S PRIEST – featuring Judas Priest alum and GRAMMY Award winning/nominated musicians K.K. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, May 9 at 10:00am EDT, so get your tickets quickly before it’s too late – these will go fast!

KK’s PRIEST’s K.K. Downing says:

“It’s time!!! Let the full European metal assault commence, KK’s Priest / Accept. Not since 1983 have we shared the same battleground. From Germany, from the UK, let the Flying Vs clash, let the metal fly! All in the name of defending our beloved heavy metal music, let the people come from all walks of life to witness the battle royal. There is no doubt that we warriors of metal will give every ounce of our energy and our power in order to deliver up our very finest performance. This is a spectacle not to be missed, and this is possibly the one and only time in history for you to witness this iconic duel. Who will be the victor? You will be the judge, let the music begin from early August to early October… The arena awaits!!”

ACCEPT’s Wolf Hoffmann says:

“This tour with KK’s Priest is a dream come true for Accept and for me personally.

Accept supported Judas Priest back in the early 80s – it was our first ‘real’ international tour and Priest had been a huge influence on us.
I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with KK on this very special tour. It’s going to be epic! Don’t miss it!”

This past September, KK’S PRIEST unveiled their blistering sophomore offering, ‘The Sinner Rides Again’, to rave reviews! Blabbermouth dubbed it “an absolutely ripping metal record”, while Paste stated, “…with all respect to Rob Halford and co., nothing they’ve produced in recent years feels as dynamic and as heavy as the material that their former guitarist has been forging with his project KK’S PRIEST.” The album debuted at #1 on the US Hard Music Albums chart, #3 on the Top New Artist Albums chart, and #6 on the Current Rock Albums chart. The Sinner Rides Again also landed at #6 on the end-of-year NACC Heavy radio chart, while resulting as one of the top spun albums of the year at Metal Contraband.

With ‘The Sinner Rides Again’, KK’S PRIEST double down on the ripping melodic force of their debut, ‘Sermons Of The Sinner’ – which Metal Hammer UK dubbed “hugely enjoyable” and Metal Injection cited as boasting “catchy hooks and plenty of guitar wizardry”. ‘The Sinner Rides Again’ wields nine tracks of pure hellfire, produced and written by Downing and mixed/mastered by Jacob Hansen. The celebrated new album is a call for the classics while speeding full force into the future, delivered by some of heavy metal’s most essential performers.

A vibrant homage to the blues, SLASH’s star-studded debut blues album and sixth solo album of his career, Orgy of the Damned is a collection of 12 dynamic songs that revitalize the blues with a stripped-down approach. By celebrating both well-known and largely undiscovered songs, SLASH offers a nostalgic nod to the past while reinvigorating the songs with his inimitable guitar playing and the spirit of collaboration. For Orgy of the Damned, the acclaimed guitarist reteamed with storied producer Mike Clink and enlisted the album’s diverse guest vocalists, which include Gary Clark Jr, Billy F. Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Tash Neal, Chris Robinson, and Beth Hart. Rounding out his blues band in the studio and on the road, SLASH reunited with two of his bandmates from his Blues Ball outfit in the 90s, bassist Johnny Griparic and keyboardist Teddy ‘ZigZag’ Andreadis, and brought on drummer Michael Jerome and singer/guitarist Tash Neal.

SLASH has released two songs off Orgy of the Damned including “Oh Well” which features outlaw country star Chris Stapleton on vocals, and is a transcendent and electrified, bluesy folk-infused take on the Fleetwood Mac gem, written by original founder Peter Green. Listen to SLASH’s “Oh Well” featuring Chris Stapleton on vocals HERE, and watch/share the visualizer for “Oh Well” HERE. Also, listen to “Killing Floor” feat. Brian Johnson of AC/DC on vocals, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith on harmonica which Rolling Stone hailed “a freewheeling bluesy solo,” HERE and watch/share the “Killing Floor” video for a first look at SLASH and with his blues band in the studio HERE.

SLASH’s Orgy of the Damned is available worldwide digitally, on vinyl and CD via Gibson Records; pre-order HERE. Watch/share album trailer HERE and for more information, go to

Orgy of the Damned encompasses a broad range of styles within the blues genre, veering from an upbeat, rowdy take on Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” to a plaintive, twanging rendition of T. Bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday.” Some of the songs, like Steppenwolf’s “The Pusher,” Charlie Segar’s “Key to the Highway,” and Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign,” had been performed by Slash’s Blues Ball, while others, like Stevie Wonder’s “Living for the City,” were long-time favorites for SLASH. “Hoochie Coochie Man,” written by Willie Dixon and made famous by Muddy Waters in 1954, showcases the in-the-moment nature and unrestrained energy of Orgy of the Damned, with Z.Z. Top’s Billy F. Gibbons stepping in on guitar and vocals. The group went into a rehearsal room in North Hollywood and began hashing out soulful, rollicking takes on the classic songs. Everything was played live in the room, with an emphasis on improvisation which resulted in a collection of dynamic, energized songs that are immediate, raw, and distinctly familiar.

STAIND Releases New Song “Better Days” Featuring Dorothy

Multi-platinum rock band, Staind has released a new song, “Better Days” featuring Dorothy, from their latest album, Confessions of the Fallen. Buy/stream single HERE

“Better Days,” an emotionally charged power ballad that is classic Staind, marks the first time the band has a featured artist on a song. Singer and namesake of LA rock band, Dorothy brings her powerhouse vocals alongside Aaron Lewis, taking the sentiment of the song to the next level.

“This was a departure for me,” says Aaron Lewis. “It’s really the first time Staind explored a feature with a female guest vocalist. Once we started tracking I could tell the synergy was there. We didn’t have to pick harmonies, we didn’t have to analyze parts, they just happened. I’m stoked to have Dorothy on this single with me. Her talent and voice are incredible.”

“I had a great time tracking “Better Days,” adds Dorothy. “It’s a beautiful song and I hope fans connect with it. I’m so grateful to Aaron for the opportunity.”

“Better Days” is the third rock song released from Confessions of the Fallen. The first two singles “Lowest and Me” and “Here and Now” reached #1 on Active Rock chart.

“The New Pearl Jam Album Is Their Best In Decades” – UPROXX

“Dark Matter is many things. It’s thrilling. It’s moving. It’s surprising. It’s a band still operating at the peaks of their powers.” – Kerrang!

Pearl Jam proudly present their latest single, “Wreckage”. The single comes in advance of their anxiously awaited twelfth studio album, Dark Matter, available this Friday, April 19th via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records.

Stone Gossard on “Wreckage”:
“That one probably has the biggest build for me personally, in terms of hearing it at first and thinking, it’s kind of an Ed song. I wasn’t quite aware of its potency until later. Andrew [Watt] encouraged me to play this little harmonic, acoustic part almost like a Cure melody. I’ve been playing along with the song to relearn it and I’m really looking forward to playing it live. It’s a really powerful lyric and I think we did a really great job of taking something and really pushing it to its limit.”

Andrew Watt adds:
“[“Wreckage”] started with the riff and everyone kind of formulating sections together. That song just came to Ed right away. Within the first couple takes before the music was even right, his vocals were right. His melodies and words are so strong in that song. Once the initial spark was there and there were a few sections, it was just really about following him.”

Announces “Age of Entitlement” Tour

June Dates feature Support from
Weedeater, X-Cops, Squid Pisser

September Dates feature Support from
Brujeria, BRAT, Cancer Christ

Shock Rock gods GWAR will embark on “The Age of Entitlement Tour” for two more legs of 2024 headline dates in support of their most recent album “New Dark Ages.”

This summer, the band has enlisted drug metal addicts WEEDEATER along with the habitually offensive cop rock of X-COPS as support. The savage hardcore weirdness of openers SQUID PISSER will alienate what is left of the audience. The summer leg of the “The Age of Entitlement” kicks off on June 7th in Hartford, Connecticut, and wraps on June 17th in Tampa, Florida.

In September, GWAR will go out again to kick more human ass, this time with absolutely brutal Latin American death grinders Brujeria, NOLA grindcore face-melters BRAT, and the reptilian Christianity of hardcore punk/metal evangelists Cancer Christ. That leg gets going on September 12th in Buffalo, New York, and will, mercifully, come to a close on September 20th in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Check out the full list of dates below.

GWAR vocalist Blothar the Berserker commented:

“This is an incredible time in the history of the world, so much death and destruction in the face of so much senseless entitlement and arrogant darkness. We cannot wait to shock some sense into humanity with the most outrageous performance of heavy metal theater ever to descend from the gods.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10:00 AM local time. Pre-sale tickets are available now through Thursday at 10:00 PM local time.

About Underoath

With each successive release, UNDEROATH reinvents the balance between chaos and harmony. Their compositions, conjured from creative tension, become iconoclastic anthems. Even when the band almost combusts, the crackling energy coalesces into something deeply resonant for millions.

Each time they have a chance to do something safe, Underoath challenges themselves instead, with integrity and attitude. Their pair of gold albums and three Grammy nominations stand in stark defiance of the idea of commercial compromise. The Underoath catalog weaponizes noise, aggression, and ambiance as skillfully as melody. The combination of heaviness and headiness found on Define the Great Line makes it the only record of its kind to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

The passion and power are as undeniable on tours with Alice In Chains or Bring Me The Horizon as they are in the sweatiest of intimate shows or their genre-redefining runs on Vans Warped Tour.

The heart of their sound, which delivers naked vulnerability with thrilling force and cinematic lushness, can be heard in generations of bands who’ve pursued their trail. But Underoath refuses to sit still. Walking an artistic tightrope between immersive access and isolationist otherness, Underoath owns the space between huge choruses and forward-thinking heaviness, both on record and onstage.

Underoath are:
Spencer Chamberlain – Vocals
Tim McTague – Guitar
Grant Brandell – Bass
Chris Dudley – Keyboards
Aaron Gillespie – Drums/Vocals

The 20 Years of Tears Tour: Hawthorne Heights, Thursday, Saosin, Anberlin & More for Extensive U.S. Summer Tour

The 20 Years Of Tears tour, a once-in-a-lifetime 56-date, U.S. trek featuring varying line-ups surrounding core co-headliners Hawthorne Heights, Thursday, Saosin and Anberlin, kicks off this June before wrapping up in mid-September.

JT Woodruff, Hawthorne Heights vocalist and the architect behind the tour, as well as the co-founder of the ongoing Is For Lovers Festival, explains the inspiration for this not-to-be-missed touring event, which sees his band playing their debut album, The Silence in Black and White, in its entirety: “20 Years of Tears is a celebration of the genre that raised an entire generation, with basement-born bands to stadium headliners. Emo comes in all shapes and sizes and has touched the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life. With some of the biggest names of the MySpace Generation, this lineup is designed to give you the energy you had while feeling so misunderstood, as a ‘misguided’ youth. This is not just a summer concert, it is a must-see event that can reignite the fire inside all of us as we sing and scream together like it’s 2004.”

The tour incorporates the recently announced Is For Lovers Festival dates, with The 20 Years of Tears artists playing multiple Is For Lovers’ dates as well.

Tickets for all dates are on-sale this Friday, April 19, at 10 am local time with various pre-sales offered beginning tomorrow. For further information, VIP packages and ticketing links, visit

COLLECTIVE SOUL Kicking Off 30th Anniversary Celebration With The First Single, “Mother’s Love,” From Their Forthcoming New Double Album ‘Here To Eternity’ Due Out May 17

Since launching a major label career in 1994, COLLECTIVE SOUL has charted a path that most rock bands dream of, but only few achieve. They cut through a noisy 1990s rock scene with a knack for stick-to-you-like-glue melodies, roof-shaking guitars, and a touch of Southern grit. Behind enduring singles like “Shine,” “December,” and “The World I Know,” the band hit the ground running for what would not be a short-lived sprint, but a steady marathon of uncompromising – and always catchy – albums. Since launching, they’ve become one of the most reliable rock bands in America, a tried-and-true force in a world often defined by turmoil and turbulence.

COLLECTIVE SOUL is celebrating their 30th anniversary with today’s release of the first song and video, “Mother’s Love,” from their highly anticipated forthcoming double album, HERE TO ETERNITY. Pre-orders of the album will be available tonight at 12:00am Eastern Time on all digital outlets, while the lyric video–created by LyricVids Media–can be now seen on their official YouTube here.

On “Mother’s Love,” Ed Roland sings: “Guess we’re all misunderstood/To what we can and what we should/Still I find above/All my strength from Mother’s Love.” Featuring longtime Paul McCartney guitarist Brian Ray on slide guitar, the track blasts off the turntable with a foot-stompin’, gnarled riff before gliding into a chorus layered by high-flying harmonies. Alongside Ray, who lives in Palm Springs, guests on the album include longtime Sheryl Crow bandleader Peter Stroud and Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship fame.

COLLECTIVE SOUL recorded and self-produced HERE TO ETERNITY with co-producer Shawn Grove at Elvis Presley’s estate in Palm Springs, CA. They’re the only other music artist to ever record at the historical landmark.

“I happened to be walkin’ down the street and I had met Brian Ray a couple of times,” Ed Roland said. “I saw him and was like, ‘Brian, hey man. Why don’t you come over and break bread? We’re up at Elvis’ house.’” The invite for a bite of grub turned into a session, of course. With a laugh, Ed Roland added, “I’m gettin’ pretty sneaky in my old age.”

Stepping inside the King’s one-time California getaway, his influence seeped into the album-making process. Ed Roland and album co-producer Shawn Grove slept in the home for the duration of the sessions, which overlapped with the death of Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie in early 2023.

“The sticky DNA, with Elvis being there,” bassist Will Turpin said. “You can just tell it was his designs. All pink tiles. It’s straight out of 1977. It was super cool just to be there and in the zone.”

HERE TO ETERNITY, COLLECTIVE SOUL’s 12th studio release, is due out May 17 on their label, Fuzze-Flex Records distributed physically by AMPED Distribution and digitally by Virgin Music Group. It includes 20 brand new songs which will be available everywhere on digital stores and streaming partners (including a Dolby ATMOS version), as a single disc CD, and as a limited-edition double-disc colored vinyl.

Later this summer, the band will hit the road with Hootie & the Blowfish along with Edwin McCain for the “Summer Camp with Trucks Tour” produced by Live Nation. The trek–which will visit 44 cities across the U.S. and Canada–kicks off May 30 in Dallas and runs through September 28 in West Palm Beach, visiting arenas, amphitheaters and select stadiums such as Boston’s iconic Fenway Park (with special guests Barenaked Ladies) along the way. Tickets are on sale now at and

With 20 new songs, how does the band decide which to play live? You’ll have to catch a show to find out. “It’s tricky,” Dean Roland explains. “We know we wanna play the songs people came there to see, but it’s still fun. We’re gettin’ up there, doin’ our thing.” And fans can bet on COLLECTIVE SOUL taking songs from HERE TO ETERNITY on the road for years to come. As the album title suggests, three decades is just the start.
