Judas Priest Release First Single “Lightning Strike” From Upcoming Album “Firepower”

JUDAS PRIEST FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS WITH BRAND NEW STUDIO ALBUM – ‘FIREPOWER’

Judas Priest could easily rest on their laurels at this stage of their highly successful and influential career. However, the legendary metal band – singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis – refuse to do so as evidenced by the arrival of their eighteenth studio album overall – ‘Firepower,’ which can be pre-ordered via the link http://smarturl.it/Firepower.

Set for release on Friday, March 9th, 2018 via Epic Records – the album is comprised of fourteen tracks of pure and highly inspired metal. And to mark the occasion Priest has reunited with producer Tom Allom (the man behind the board for all of the band’s releases from 1979-1988, including such stellar classics as ‘Unleashed in the East,’ ‘British Steel,’ ‘Screaming for Vengeance’ and ‘Defenders of the Faith’) and with Grammy Award-winning producer Andy Sneap also helping to raise the sonic bar even higher.

“Tom Allom has got this classic metal thing,” explains Halford. “And Andy is a bit more of a ‘modern metal producer’ but his thinking is a little bit different to Tom’s. And I think to get this balance between that classic old school metal to what Andy’s world is was just a remarkable coalescence.” “Tom Allom has been with us since 1979, so his knowledge of ourselves and our music in general is immense,” adds Hill. And according to Travis Priest returned back to a recording method that worked incredibly well on the band’s earlier classics – “We went back to the organic way of recording where it’s all of us in a room and we got to play together.”

The album’s first single, ‘Lightning Strike’ will be available worldwide on Friday, January 5, 2018, and on the same day the song’s music video will be premiered (and can be viewed via http://smarturl.it/JPLightningStrikeVid). Full album pre-order and a PledgeMusic pre-order (https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/judas-priest) will also begin the same day which includes exclusive limited autographed colored vinyl, autographed vinyl test pressings, an exclusive Judas Priest t-shirt and an extremely limited number of Judas Priest autographed guitars.

With the impending arrival of ‘Firepower’ and its ensuing tour (which kicks off on March 13th), THE PRIEST IS BACK!

The Man, The Legend –  Jimi Hendrix: 10 Things you didn’t know.

Legendary artist Jimi Hendrix will go down in history as one of the most talented musicians of all time, you’ve no doubt heard one of his songs before, but how well do you know the man behind it?

Jimi Hendrix passed away just when his career was really starting to take off,but he still managed to accomplish a hell of a lot in the mere 4 years he spent in the spotlight. He went on to leave this world a musical idol when he died in 1970. As Hendrix would now be 75 years old, we’ve put together a list of 10 things you probably didn’t know about Jimi Hendrix as an homage to the star and celebrate the announcement of the new album of unreleased songs coming soon!

1)      He wasn’t always called Jimi Hendrix. “Jimi” was born Johnny Allen Hendrix. His mum and dad did not have the greatest of relationships, so when Jimi’s father gained custody, and he went to live with him., his father renamed him James Marshall Hendrix. Although, he didn’t spell his name “Jimi” until 1966.

2)   He used the military to avoid Prison.  Jimi was caught in stolen cars on a couple of occasions whilst growing up in Seattle. He was subsequently arrested and given the choice of going to prison or two years in the military. He joined the army as an Airborne Ranger and although he was discharged for falling asleep whilst on duty, Hendrix later claimed that he broke his ankle and that was the real reason for his dismissal.

3)   There are several conspiracy theories surrounding his death. One particular conspiracy theory alleges that Hendrix didn’t die accidentally, he was murdered. The theory states that Monika Dannemann, his girlfriend at the time made him overdose, unlikely as it may sound.

4)   One of his most popular sings is a cover. His smash hit song “All Along the Watchtower”, was originally written and recorded by none other than Bob Dylan the year before. When Hendrix died, Dylan began to play the song in the Hendrix style as a tribute to him.

5)   He loved comic books. Hendrix would quite often reference characters from comic books when talking amongst friends. Jimi was particularly keen on Spider-Man and was known to be a huge fan of Batman.

6)   He wrote a screenplay. Written entirely by Jimi himself, his screenplay Moon Dust included a main character named The Powerful Sound King who was quite obviously based on himself. Other characters in the play where based on Marvel comics Spider Man characters.

7)   He wasn’t able to read music. Hendrix never actually learned how to read music. He taught himself to play by ear rather than reading the notes on the page. His first ‘guitar’ was a Ukelele that only had one string.

8)   Music was his religion. Jimi referred to his music as “Electric church” as he believed music was a religion. He put his belief into practice at Seattle’s Experience Music Project” where he named the great hall the “Sky Church”, a place where people of all ages and backgrounds could come together and experience music.

9)   Once mistaken for a clown. Hendrix was once allegedly refused service in a Liverpool bar. The bartender had thought he was a clown and there was a circus in town and the bar had a rule: No Clowns Allowed.

10)  You can Play Jimi Hendrix! There’s a slot machine modelled after Jimi Hendrix. Online casinos like bgo.com offer an online slot machine set to the soundtrack of the infamous musician. It embodies the essence of a Hendrix gig in an easy to play environment, with the potential of a nice little win.

The Documentary “Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends)”
Out Now on Blu-Ray and DVD
From Shout! Factory

The November 13, 2015 terrorist attack in Paris claimed 130 lives around the city – 89 of them at the Eagles of Death Metal’s Bataclan Theatre concert.

Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) spotlights the American rock band as they recount their experiences before and after the tragic events. The film explores the deep bonds between band co-founders Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme (also a member of Queens of the Stone Age), as well as the intense connection the band has always had with its devoted fans, which moved them to return to Paris to perform once again in February 2016.

Directed by Colin Hanks, Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) includes accounts of fans who survived the Bataclan attack, extensive behind-the-scenes footage of the band, and interviews with Bono and The Edge of U2 … and serves as a portrait of resilience in the face of unspeakable horror and a life-affirming coda to the events of November 13.

We were a few weeks into the show so we were really well rehearsed, so I said, ‘Alright guys, let’s not jump around. Let’s just really try to get a great performance because we only have one shot – no other shows if we mess up!’ So, we explained to the crowd that we would be recording. Anthrax and Killswitch Engage To Mount Epic Sequel With “KillThrax II”

Anthrax and Killswitch Engage To Mount Epic Sequel With “KillThrax II”

SiriusXM Will Present All Dates

“‘Evil Dead II.’ ‘Dawn of the Dead.’ ‘The Godfather: Part 2.’ ‘The Empire Strikes Back.’ All sequels that are better than the original. Add ‘KillThrax II’ to that list. Back by popular demand, KillThrax is coming at ya again my friends.” — Scott Ian, Anthrax

What do you do when you’ve co-headlined one of the hottest metal touring packages of 2017? Well, like any rock band that cares about its fans, you do it again, but you take it to the places that missed out the first time. And that’s exactly what metalcore masterminds Killswitch Engage and legendary thrash/metal masters Anthrax are announcing today — “KillThrax II,” a 29-city tour of North America presented by SiriusXM that kicks off January 25 in Montreal, Canada and will zig-zag across the continent to wind up in Portland, ME on March 4.

Confirmed tour dates are below. Go here for all ticket and purchasing options.

Havok will serve as the opening act for the entire tour.

Said Anthrax’s Frank Bello, “After playing so many amazing shows last year with our friends Killswitch Engage, I’m psyched for round two of KillThrax, and we’re adding Havok to the heaviness!!” Added Charlie Benante, “The shows were great, the audiences were great, and we all felt great about the whole thing, so why not do it again?”

“We are looking forward to the next leg of the ‘KillThrax’ tour,” said KsE singer Jesse Leach. “We had a blast on the first one and we enjoyed sharing the stage with the humble legends Anthrax! There is such a synergy between the two bands and a certain unity that is infectious, so it was a no brainer to put this package back together and hit the road. It’s an honor and we are excited for these shows, the fans, and the good times! KillThrax is gearing up for round two, so let’s keep the party rolling!”

As with the inaugural KillThrax tour, Killswitch Engage and Anthrax will rotate the show’s closing slot on KillThrax II. Fans can also expect a night of high energy, musical ferocity and sheer intensity, and what one reviewer called “an incredible night of live music with heavy hitters that provided hours of escape into metal bliss.”

Brit Floyd kicks off the Immersion World Tour for 2017 for the North America Winter leg

The hotly anticipated rock event of the year returns, as Brit Floyd brings the music of Pink Floyd to life once again with its lavish new stage show, ‘Pink Floyd Immersion World Tour 2017’. The spectacle of a Pink Floyd concert experience is truly recaptured in high-definition sound, and with a stunning million dollar light show and state of the art video design.

As well as performing the favorite moments from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall and The Division Bell, Brit Floyd will also pay special tribute to the Animals album, in its 40th anniversary year, with a show stopping rendition of ‘Dogs’, as well as a host of other Pink Floyd musical gems. The Brit Floyd show has truly become a phenomenon, widely regarded as the world’s greatest live tribute to Pink Floyd. Faithfully recreating the scale and pomp of the final 1994 Division Bell tour, complete with circle screen and multiple moving light design, lasers, inflatables and theatrics, a Brit Floyd show really is as close as fans will ever get to experiencing the magnificence of a Pink Floyd show live.   More than a tribute, it’s as good as they say. Believe the hype and don’t miss it!  The new ‘Pink Floyd Immersion’ show promises to be Brit Floyd’s most ambitious and best production yet.

Black Veil Brides Announce New Album “Vale”

BLACK VEIL BRIDES ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM VALE OUT JANUARY 12, 2018, PRE-ORDER AVAILABLE TODAY UNLEASHES TWO NEW SONGS “MY VOW” & “THE OUTSIDER”

BAND ANNOUNCES BVB ARMY PHONE NUMBER FOR FANS

NORTH AMERICAN CO-HEADLINE TOUR DATES WITH ASKING ALEXANDRIA ON SALE TODAY

NEW YORK, NY (September 29, 2017) — After quietly fueling fan anticipation over the past month, BLACK VEIL BRIDES share the details for their anxiously awaited fifth full-length album, VALE [LAVA/Republic Records]—available, January 12, 2018. Pre-Order VALE Here!

The official pre-order grants fans immediate downloads of the first two songs to be released off VALE, “My Vow” and “The Outsider” which was released online last year. Listen to “My Vow” Here and “The Outsider” Here!

Produced by longtime collaborator John Feldmann [blink-182, Panic! At the Disco], VALE sees BLACK VEIL BRIDES sharpen their signature sound to knife point precision.

On the album, front man Andy Biersack stated: “We cannot wait for the BVB army to hear VALE in its entirety! In my opinion, this record is the most complete and exciting album we have done to date. The opportunity to work with John Feldmann once again over the course of the past 2 years creating VALE was an incredible experience and I am thrilled with the collection of songs we have put together as a band. The Latin translation of VALE is “be well, be strong!” and central to the message of this record. We hope to continue to inspire our fans and friends to embrace their own individuality and inner strength. The central narrative once again finds “The Wild Ones” characters facing the challenge of moving on from the pain and anguish of their past and looking to a new chapter in their lives. This concept is one that is near to my heart and I believe will resonate with those that find themselves cast on the fringe of society. From our inception Black Veil Brides have stood up for the outcasts and disenfranchised, with this album as hope to give you hope, fun and most importantly a kick ass rock and roll record.

The band hits the road on January 10th, 2018 for their North American co-headline tour with Asking Alexandria in Salt Lake City and will hit major markets across the country including New York’s Terminal 5 on February 8th and more! Tickets are on-sale now. Check out the full itinerary below and purchase tickets here!

ABOUT 10 YEARS
10 Years has come a long way since their inception in 1999. The band landed a deal with Universal/Republic Records on the strength of their two independent releases, 2001’s Into the Half Moon and 2004’s Killing All That Holds You. Their major label debut, 2005’s The Autumn Effect, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album chart thanks to their breakthrough hit, “Wasteland,” which topped Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart, and “Through the Iris,” which hit No. 20 on Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The band followed that success with 2008’s Division, featuring co-production work from Rick Parashar (Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam). The album peaked at No. 12 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the hit “Beautiful,” which reached No. 6 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The momentum continued with 2010’s Feeding the Wolves, which was produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, 3 Doors Down) and bowed at No. 17 on The Billboard 200, while the single, “Shoot It Out,” peaked at No. 6 on Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and spent 25 weeks on the chart. The group, which toured the world with such rock greats at Linkin Park, Korn, and Deftones, went back to their indie roots with 2012’s Minus the Machine on their own Palehorse Records, which was part of Warner Music Label Group. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, No. 8 on the Top Rock Albums chart, and No. 26 on The Billboard 200.

GWAR Delivers “State of The Union” and Drops New Song
“El Presidente”

The countdown is on as GWAR gets ready to release their bone-crushing, corpse-grinding new opus “The Blood of Gods” out October 20th via Metal Blade Records. As the world continues hurtling through space towards a great conflagration of death and destruction, your alien overlords have dropped “El Presidente,” the second single from the album. Hopefully this will speed things along! Head over to metalblade.com/gwar to listen to the track and pre-order your copy of “The Blood Of Gods.” Digital pre-orders come with instant downloads of both “Fuck This Place” and “El Presidente.”

Additionally Beefcake the Mighty, has issued a brief “State Of The GWAR Union” address. Watch it HERE.

Concerning the album; “The Blood of Gods” chronicles the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that oppose them. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of humanity from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are; a parasitic disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry!

GHOUL continues to tour in support of their delightfully deviant Dungeon Bastards studio offering. Released via Tankcrimes in July 2016, the record consumed Billboard Charts upon its first week of release debuting at #11 on the Heatseekers Chart, #13 on the Top Vinyl Albums Chart, #13 on the Hard Rock Chart, and #27 on the Independent Albums Chart. The band also earned prime spots on year end lists globally including the #19 position of Decibel’s Top 40 Albums Of 2016, the revered rag issuing of the album, “For those who lived through Nancy and Ronald, S.O.D. and D.R.I. GHOUL’s sound is like finding a shoebox of discontinued candy, all of it fresh to eat. That said, the gonzo midnight movie vibe and cartoonish energy on Dungeon Bastards perfectly articulates the apocalyptic anxiety that we’re all sharing in 2016.”

Dungeon Bastards is out now on CD and digital formats as well as slime green and blood red vinyl with a gatefold jacket that opens into the Dungeon Bastards board game. Players take turns advancing through a Creepsylvanian map; the first one to get to end of the map and jump the Wall Of Death wins.

CD orders are available HERE, vinyl HERE, and digital HERE.
