ARCADE FIRE WE NEW ALBUM OUT TODAY

WORLD TOUR ANNOUNCED — NORTH AMERICAN DATES TO FEATURE A SPECIAL ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE BY BECK, EUROPEAN DATES TO FEATURE SPECIAL GUEST FEIST

APPEARING ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE MAY 7

Following the universally rapturous reception to singles “The Lightning I, II” and “Unconditional I (Lookout Kid),” Arcade Fire’s “excellent sixth album” (The New Yorker) WE is released to the world in its entirety today, May 6th 2022, via Columbia Records at http://af.lnk.to/_we.

The North American leg of the WE tour — featuring very special guest Beck playing a nightly acoustic set — will kick off October 28th in Washington D.C., while Europe will include special guest Feist for all shows.

Tickets for all dates will be on sale to the public beginning Friday, May 13th at 10am local time. Dashboard Confessional has shared “Burning Heart,” the glorious new single from their eagerly anticipated new album, All The Truth That I Can Tell. An official music video premiere via YouTube followed by a Rodeo Livestream with DC founder, frontman, and songwriter Chris Carrabba, will take place today at 12pm ET / 9am PT . The song was written in a green room in Manchester, England in the winter of 2018 and then performed onstage an hour later.

“In the song, there’s this sense of, Okay, here we go! Are you ready? Because it’s starting!” says Carrabba. “This was the first one I wrote for the new album and it’s the one outlier of the bunch. That night, I wrote a song that I was so certain of. Not that it was just good, but that it was powerful in some way, too. The conceit of this song reflects the fact that I’m holding in a lot. I have a lot to say to the person I love in this moment. The idea in this setting is that I’m here to fight for this. I wanted a song that took a look at a hard conversation with a sense of although things aren’t right now, they may be able to be set right if it’s needed badly enough, wanted badly enough. In this setting, the conceit of the song is between two people in a relationship — well, you only hear one side. That’s the bigger part of the conceit: what if you only heard the one side of the conversation?”

The first all-new Dashboard Confessional LP in four years, All The Truth That I Can Tell arrives via Hidden Note Records/AWAL on Friday, February 25, 2022; pre-orders/pre-saves are available now. The album will be available in a variety of formats, including digital, CD, cassette, standard black vinyl, and a number of limited-edition vinyl runs on offer exclusively via such retailers as Urban Outfitters, Walmart, Bandbox, and independent record stores. A candid All The Truth That I Can Tell Album Trailer can be viewed now at YouTube.

VOLBEAT’S EIGHTH STUDIO ALBUM, “SERVANT OF THE MIND” OUT TODAY VIA REPUBLIC RECORDS

Today, multi-platinum Danish band Volbeat release their eighth studio album, Servant Of The Mind, which Revolver calls “excellent… the darkest and heaviest Volbeat offering yet,” via Republic Records. For Servant of the Mind, the band, which consists of Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Jon Larsen (drums), Rob Caggiano (guitars) and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass) took their signature heavy metal, psychobilly and punk ‘n’ roll sound up a notch while showcasing Poulsen’s keen ability for songwriting and storytelling. “Rarely has such a successful band sounded so ravenous,” says Kerrang! Magazine of the album. The new album is now available in standard CD, deluxe 2LP vinyl (in various limited-edition variants, full info below) and a deluxe digital edition here.

Today, Volbeat also share their lyric video for album opener “Temple of Ekur.” Watch it here. The band previously shared music videos for “Shotgun Blues” and “Wait A Minute My Girl”, which became the band’s ninth number one single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and recently spent 4 weeks at number one on the Mediabase Canada Active Rock chart, giving the band their first Canadian number one song.

“I wrote the whole album in three months,” recalls Poulsen, “I was in a good place and mood while at home, and had a captive audience of myself… There are a lot of Volbeat signatures in it. If you go back to the first record and compare it to where we are now, you can hear how the band has developed its style, while keeping the signature sound.”

Other songs on the album weave intricate and fascinating tales. “The Sacred Stones” tells the story of “an earthly being who has committed himself to the dark side. He is on a mission, speaking to darker forces and fallen angels.” Meanwhile, “The Devil Rages On” looks at the idea of the devil taking human form. “Temple of Ekur” returns to the ancient themes explored in past songs such as “The Gates of Babylon,” while the epic album closer “Lasse’s Birgita” explores the story of the first witch burnings to occur in Sweden in 1471.

Volbeat will be returning to the road in January when they co-headline with Ghost across the US with special guests Twin Temple, and the Servant of the Road World Tour comes to Germany, France and the UK this Spring alongside multiple European festival appearances. Tickets for all dates are on sale now at volbeat.dk.

Since forming in 2001, Volbeat has gone from the clubs of Copenhagen to headlining stages around the world, including the famed Telia Parken stadium in Denmark (becoming the only domestic artist to ever sell out the venue). Over the course of seven record-breaking albums the band has picked up number one songs (including nine #1s on the US Mainstream Rock chart and counting, the most of any band based outside of North America), multi-platinum certifications, awards and accolades all over the planet. Their latest album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound, was released on August 2nd, 2019 and has spawned the hit singles “Last Day Under The Sun,” “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” and “Leviathan.” They recently contributed a cover of “Don’t Tread on Me” to The Metallica Blacklist, with all proceeds from the track benefiting the All Within My Hands Foundation and the Børne Cancer Fonden of Denmark.

GWAR’s “Scumdogs Live” out Today on Pit Records!

“Scumdogs” 30th Anniversary Tour Starts Thursday September 16th

Rejoice humans! The day you’ve been waiting for is here! GWAR have released “Scumdogs Live!” an epic live event, filmed in the basement of GWAR’s Antarctican fortress, now available for you to own on Double LP, Blu-Ray/DVD/CD and cassette. What? You haven’t picked up a copy? Act now to spare your life! You can still order one HERE.

The band’s lead singer, the Berzerker Blóthar sez: “In making this recording, we spared no expense to recreate the atmosphere of those early tours for Scumdogs of the Universe. You can really hear the urgency and drive that comes from a group of rockstar primadonnas, worn down from truckstop love affairs and running dangerously low on shitty cocaine, frozen chicken chimichangas and fortified wine. I had forgotten how powerfully stupid these songs really are, but we managed to capture that perfectly!”

“It was a great honor to don the armor of my fallen comrade, Flattus Maximus, and perform the songs from Scumdogs. Unfortunately I shall be searching the galaxy for an audience worthy of indulging in the soundwaves captured on this audio recording. Until I find them, I suppose Earthlings can take this record for spin,” added guitarist Pustulus Maximus.

Coinciding with this release, GWAR is streaming a performance video of “Sick of You,” from “Scumdogs Live!” Watch the video HERE.

All worked up from seeing that clip? Answer the call to worship at the feet of your Lords and Masters “in person” when GWAR returns to the road on September 16th in Richmond, VA. The band then returns to the road October 28th in Norfolk, VA through December 14th New York, NY. Support on this run comes from Napalm Death and Eyehategod.

GWAR’s “Disc With No Name” Out Today!

Unfiltered, uncouth and now unplugged, GWAR almost have us convinced with this acoustic EP that behind that four-dong udder there may just be a heart somewhere-Loudwire-

It’s so GWAR to have some beautiful harmonies meshed with horrendously vile lyrics -Metal Insider-

GWAR’s latest opus “Disc With No Name,” is out today on Pit Records. The band worked tirelessly on this acoustic masterpiece during last year’s “GWARantine,” and it is finally available for puny pathetic human ears.

Blóthar the Berserker says “When Sleazy P. Martini suggested we do something “unplugged” I was confused. It took me forever to get it plugged in the first place. Turns out he wanted us to record a few GWAR tunes, stripped down to chords, harmony and emotion. Now that I understand what’s going on, I’m thrilled with the project. I was finally able to release my inner Joni Mitchell. I swallowed her years ago, and she’s been living in my belly ever since.”

More breaking GWAR news; the band’s new Ragnarök Rye is available in stores today.

Stay tuned for more info from GWAR including updates on new music and fall touring plans.

Three Major Tech Advancements That Extend Education Today

Enhancing learning opportunities is a huge issue for our society. Various tech advancements can be utilized to improve teaching methods as well as academic performance and grading system. Nowadays, technologies allow improving the entire learning process in-class or at home. Many families choose distant education, and the results are impressive.

So, what are the main innovations that stimulate the growth of literacy? We will list tech advancements that can extend education in many ways.

Specialized Communication Channels

Often, the main reason for the specific lessons to be ineffective and cause confusion is the lack of communication between students and their teachers. The explanations provided in class might be insufficient to make pupils understand complex topics. At the same time, personal counseling for everyone is impossible as tutors have things to do in their lives.

Nowadays, it is possible to create college dashboards in the online regime and post all the necessary materials and additional documents there. Also, most schools add forums for discussions of homework and upcoming exams. Teachers can answer students 24/7, and this process takes less time today.

If a student is missing some class, he or she can go online, enter the official school’s website, and check the lesson materials as well as homework. It is easier to mark absence in an online regime so that teachers know who and why did not attend the specific class.

Not to miss the deadline, students can upload their essays, research papers, and other homework tasks directly to their personal accounts or college forums/dashboards. It is a perfect chance to avoid failing grades and other troubles. Students can reach out to their teachers almost as customers do with client support. Sure, tutors are not available 24/7, but some colleges add robots to answer at least FAQs. Immediate assistance and tips help students to do homework assignments more effectively on their own.

Opportunities for In-Depth Research and Data Processing

College libraries often lack the materials necessary for a successful learning process. The amount of textbooks is often limited, so not all students get the necessary resources for education. It isn’t easy to share a physical book, but it’s simple to do that with an e-book. Thus, the Internet has become a more popular place than a traditional library. Sure, some universities can boast research centers that can replace any online resources, but it is better to combine both. Students get easy and free access to numerous sources on the web:

  • Books
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Journals
  • Memos
  • Scholarly articles
  • Research papers
  • Videos
  • Dissertations, etc.

They may use some of them as citations and references for their essays; some of them can be used as templates and examples. Multiple search engines make it possible to find any sort of information within seconds. Students are encouraged to use as many sources as possible, but they should be relevant and up-to-date. Most online sources reveal the publication dates. It is easy to detect a trusted source: they usually pop up among the first search results and belong to domains like .gov or .edu.

Students can store and view info easily with the help of various cloud storage services. Google Docs is just one of the many. Gone are the times when learners had to flip through heaps of educational books and papers. They can simply and quickly share data with their peers and tutors. It allows for faster and more effective data processing.

Newest school equipment and tools make it possible to conduct experiments in classes. Students can research different questions and problems on their own in the labs. It was proven that digital sources are more cost-effective than traditional materials. For instance, it is impossible to delete an online source without admin access. As for the textbook, a student can lose or harm it, and it will cost a penny. Finally, it is simpler to find even a rare book online than in a physical store or library.

Services That Help Students

With the appearance of multiple online platforms for education, students received valuable help and support. Early days, they had to ask their parents or peers for assistance. Now, it is enough to type the keywords like “essay writer online” or “help with homework” to obtain the fast and quality solution to any assignment.

Some of the online tools for students and writers are designed to check grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Those apps are perfect for international students – they help to enrich vocabulary just like Thesaurus. Grammarly and Copywritely are two other popular tools. One can find software created to avoid issues with plagiarism. You simply insert the text in the special field and check how original your writing is (most colleges require at least 95% uniqueness).

Before, we used to turn to the psychical translation bureaus to write papers. Now, there is no need to go outside. Other applications can help to generate topic ideas and even entire sentences. Isn’t that amazing?

Comparing the Top Streaming Services on the Market Today

The top streaming service is more than a matter of who has the best shows. It’s about the app experience, value for money, and how quickly they release new information. The best streaming service should make it easier for the subscriber to find something new to watch.

The TV landscape has tremendously changed, thanks to the streaming services. That means every major studio is trying to figure out how to play catch-up even with huge competition leading streaming services listed on Streamingwars.com like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.

Viewers have subscribed to streaming services in droves, and for a good reason. There’s not much choice when it comes to selecting the best streaming services for your needs, which is suitable for viewers in some respects. However, it can be overwhelming and expensive to make the right decision.

The best streaming service overall is Netflix, which has grown to be the standard streaming service for many. First of all, Netflix offers an outstanding selection of TV shows, movies, comedy specials, original programming (including Glow, Love Is Blind and Black Mirror).  Netflix practically controls the talk around streaming, with most the great shows and routine success making new series such as “Dead to Me” and “ Tiger.”

What’s more interesting is that you can create up to five different profiles on the same account to make sure your favorite content doesn’t mess up. As you probably know, Netflix is continually removing and adding movies, so you’ll want to check it out to see what’s coming soon.

The recently-released HBO Max boosts the HBO catalog for shows such as Westworld or Game of Thrones and a ton more movies and some new original shows. Some will turn to the service for the DCEU films – the Justice League Snyder Cut is coming – while others will treasure the family-friendly trove of content, including the Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo and the new Looney Tunes cartoons. However, HBO Max is still not on Fire or Roku TV.

Lately, Disney joined the fray with Disney Plus, which hosts movies and shows from Marvel, Star Wars, and more. Before its release, Disney Plus was among the most awaited streaming services on the market. Disney controls a frightening number of properties, from Star Wars, to Marvels, to Disney’s own animated canon, to The Simpsons (all 30 seasons and counting).

There’s also the Amazon Prime Video service that is a part of Amazon Prime subscription. For those who do their shopping online, Amazon is a no-brainer. Like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video is a veritable buffet of original programming, television, and movies. Some of the best Amazon shows range from the Man in the High Castle, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Jack Ryan, and Bosch.

A deal with Viacom – which controls Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and MTV – made Amazon Prime arguably the best streaming service when it comes to children programming and comedy. The streaming service also provides unlimited access to an extensive collection from HBO’s catalog of classics like “The Wire” and “The Sopranos”.

BODY COUNT RELEASES NEW RADIO EDIT OF “NO LIVES MATTER” TODAY

WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO HERE

In light of current events, Body Count announces the release of their radio single “No Lives Matter” today via Century Media Records. Watch the music video for “No Lives Matter”, which is off their 2017 full-length album Bloodlust HERE

The track’s message is more relevant than ever as Body Count frontman Ice-T states in the music video intro, “…when I say ‘Black Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter’, that’s like if I was to say ‘Gay Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter’. If I said, ‘Women’s Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter’. You’re diluting what I’m saying. You’re diluting the issue. The issue isn’t about everybody, it’s about black lives, at the moment.”

Century Media Records Director Philipp Schulte adds, “As a company we felt it was necessary to release this single as a way to actively participate in the change that is needed to combat police brutality and racism. It is a first step in doing our part to inspire unity and transformation.”

Danish composer, vocalist and classically trained multi-instrumentalist, Myrkur (Amalie Bruun), journeys into the heart of Scandinavian culture. Through Bruun’s crystalline vocals, an array of traditional instruments and storytelling, ‘Folkesange’ offers listeners an immersive, emotional and transcendent experience that resonates in today’s turbulent times.

Album Artwork By: Hans Dahl

“Burrowing into a lifelong love of Scandinavia’s traditional music and writing her own modern versions, and without sacrificing her intensity.” – THE GUARDIAN (FOLK ALBUM OF THE MONTH)

“Ella has the steady, almost ominous tread of her earlier, darker works, and her layers of voice have an almost eerie resonance. The song swells and subsides (she refers to it as “a rebirth-ritual in the sea”) before building to an almost orchestral-sounding finale.” – WNYC’s SOUNDCHECK

“Lush acoustic instruments and a restrained composition give full breadth to Myrkur’s voice, and the pristine production is more fitting of new age music than black metal” – CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

“transcendent… sweeping, hypnotic” – REVOLVER

“Scandinavian heritage has been a very important element of black metal since its beginning, but no musician before Myrkur has translated it so successfully to its music to attain recognition both within the genre and without, and although her work polarized the black metal community intensely in the beginning, ever more people are realizing the unique merit and quality of Myrkur’s work” – ULTIMATE GUITAR

“ethereal…” – METAL HAMMER (COVER STORY)

“enchanting, melodic” – LOUDWIRE

“gorgeous…It breaks new ground with its wild, almost lyrical sound, and really transports the listener back to days of old.” – EXCLAIM!

“indeed in the trad-folk realm, with a little ethereal dream pop in the mix too” – BROOKLYN VEGAN

“she’s the Lana Del Ray of Black Metal” – THE PIT

“Bruun has a way of breathing new life into the past, by taking these old folk songs and reenvisaging them as expansive explorations into the netherworld of black metal” – LINE OF THE BEST FIT

“a gracious, quite accessible offering, one that invites us to other worlds, times, and cultures.” – THE PROG MIND

Myrkur’s Amalie Bruun has always paved her own path and challenged underground preconceptions of heavy genres. Just after newfound motherhood, Bruun set out on a journey into the very heart of the Scandinavian culture that marked her own childhood with on her latest album, FolkesangeAvailable today on Relapse RecordsFolkesange relinquishes black metal for a refined yet far-reaching evocation of traditional folk, combining songs ancient and new to sublimely resonant effect.

On Myrkur‘s first two full-length studio albums (2015’s M and 2017’s Mareridt), she recast black metal in the most personal yet expansive of terms, their blending of Bruun‘s Danish folk roots with tempestuous internal struggles breathing new life into a subgenre whose followers can be rigidly possessive.

After the nightmare-induced visions that wrought themselves throughout 2017’s immensely acclaimed MareridtFolkesange offers an emotional sanctuary, a means to reconnect to something permanent and nature-aligned. It’s an awareness that’s become deeply bound to the album’s organic, regenerative spirit.

Storytelling, rites of passage, and the invocation of a continuity that passes through time and generation are all part of folk music’s tapestry, and Folkesange taps into all these currents in their most essential form. In part a purist’s approach to the genre, free from over-interpretation and fusion, the use of Kulning (an ancient Scandinavian herding call) and traditional instruments throughout, such as nyckelharpa, lyre and mandola offer adeeper, more tactile connection to their source, an unbroken line of communication back to the past.

But the album is no museum piece; it resonates in the here and now, aided by the spacious production of Heilung member and musical collaborator Christopher Juul. Cinematic yet intimate, Folkesange exists in a state of boundless reverie, bourne by string-led drones, cyclical, elegiac rhythms and Bruun‘s frictionless voice, all carrier signals for deep-rooted, ancestral memories, and associations felt on an elemental level.

An immersive experience in its own right, but also belonging to a wider, pagan folk-based renaissance that has attracted a devoted following worldwide, Folkesange answers a need that has become ever more pressing in turbulent times. A zeroing in on a resonance that is both intrinsic and enduring, it’s a rediscovery of personal grounding, and an experience that reaches beyond culture to remind us of a shared, deeply rooted inheritance. A tuning fork that binds the personal and the universal, Folkesange is a reminder that the most transcendent experiences are those closest to home.

We all need to take a break sometimes. It always seems like we’re all so busy trying to keep up with this roller coaster we call life that we tend to forget what it really means to “live.” Rushing to meet deadline after deadline is not how you dreamt to live out your life when you were younger, is it? Surely, you’ve never thought of wasting all your precious youth overly obsessing about things like finding a partner, settling down, building an empire, etc.

Goals are great to have. Being dedicated to one’s career is a really good thing. However, you also have to recognize the fact that life exists beyond that. At the end of the day, it’s not those busy days you are going to remember. Amidst the hustle and bustle, what you will remember most are the times you decided to just calm down and take a break. It is during moments that you are still that you are allowed to really take in all the things that are happening around you. This is why it is important that you just let yourself go sometimes. It is not a crime to rest your worn-out soul. Read more about this here.

And what better way to loosen up and recharge your spirit than surround yourself with positive energy and good music? Say, going to see your favorite artist live, for example.

When Was The Last Time You’ve Ever Been To A Concert?

Wait, let me actually rephrase that question: When was the last time you ever allowed yourself to do something that is just purely enjoyable? Was it last week, maybe last month? If you can’t even remember when it was and the memory of ever having such a time seems so distant, then you’re truly depriving yourself of a chance to recharge and just live in the moment.

We all deserve to live in the moment.

The best way to really experience the energy of something real in the exact moment is to witness someone perform on a live stage. When you’re there just surrounded by the insane hype of the people around you, hearing music so passionately delivered, and just standing in awe at the grand performance that’s unfolding before you, it is in that moment that you know you’re alive. It is in that moment that you get to understand what it means to live in the present. That’s just the kind of energy a live performance will give you. Here’s a list of performances you shouldn’t miss out on: https://www.insider.com/best-musicians-to-see-live-2018-3

Ever since the television and internet came, less and less people are showing interest to concerts and live performances. True enough, just streaming the performance will help you save costs, time, and effort of going to the actual venue. However, I wouldn’t say that the experience is the same. As I said, what’s lacking is the energy. The realness of the moment, the heat, wouldn’t be there when you’re just watching off a screen. It would feel bland and empty. But if you get out there and immerse yourself with the people’s energy, you’ll realize just how much you’re missing out on life. You’ll realize how important it is to let yourself go every once in a while.

Let’s all bring back the vigor that was once showered upon live concerts. Let’s all bring back the fun in our lives.

How To Keep Yourself Updated With The Live Performances Happening Around You

Although I did kind of imply that technology has made people more passive and disinterested about a lot of things, but it definitely has made life more convenient. I guess this is where the saying “there are two sides to every coin” comes in. The internet may indirectly encourage the youth of today to be passive observers but it’s also a tool that can help you live life even better if you use it for the right things. For example, if you’re planning to go see a live concert soon, you can always just check out online schedules for it.

That’s right. Nowadays, attending a live concert doesn’t require you to line up from 3 in the morning just to get the tickets (although that used to be fun too). You can conveniently and comfortably book for them through a mobile phone or computer. You can pay for them right then and there too.

So if you’re thinking of taking the missus out for the weekend or ask the boyfriend to join you for a rock performance in the summer, you can always just check out online ticketing websites for the latest news and updates on upcoming performances in your area. It’s really that easy now so it’s about time you stop making excuses for yourself and just start throwing yourself out there.

There are many ticketing websites that you can check out, but you have to make sure that you’re buying only from legit ones before you start paying real money. Online reviews can help you determine which websites are safe to use for this purpose and which ones are not. Most ticketing websites are real-time so you will be able to receive your virtual or digital ticket soon after you purchased it. If you don’t receive it even after 24 hours had passed, then there is definitely something wrong going on. Seriously, with our technology today, you’d be more surprised about “what can’t be achieved” more than what can be achieved. Check out one of the best concert ticket sites here.

Again, don’t wait for life to pass you by. Whenever you can, make an effort to really live moments with people you love. Enjoy yourself; unbound yourself from things that worry and concern you and just join the world as you all yell out your hearts’ desires to great music. Sometimes, simply allowing yourself to “go with the crowd” is the best therapy you can ever get. It doesn’t cost much too. These are the times you will remember the most, you’ll see.

BEASTIE BOYS: ILL COMMUNICATION TURNS 25 TODAY

STILL ILL Mini-Doc Live at https://youtu.be/pp_2E2K9_L4

Debuting at #1 upon its May 1994 release, Beastie Boys’ fourth album was an unstoppable force, pervading every aspect of pop culture. Its charge to the top of the charts was led by “Sabotage” and its legendary Spike Jonze/Nathanial Hornblower ’70s TV police drama tribute, as ROLLING STONE dubbed Ill Communication 1994’s “soundtrack for summer.” Crowds and critics alike were floored by highlights “Sure Shot,” “Root Down” and “Get It Together,” as a VIBE (RIP)—in the magazine’s first cover story on a white artist–hailed Beastie Boys as “perhaps the most consistently innovative musicians to emerge out of hip hop.” It was a claim that Ill Communication has justified for years to come, and 25 years later Ill Communication’s impact has resounded with generation after generation.
