The LEGO Batman Movie Review

The LEGO Batman is a new way of depicting the Superhero Genre. Unlike the other movies in the same genre, The LEGO stands out to be a different movie. The movie begins usually as most of the Hollywood flicks do, with different angles of the camera showing different scenes.

The movie begins after three years the LEGO universe is saved. The Batman is now on the quest to fight out a battle against the cruel Joker. However, this time around, the Batman has its adopted son LEGO who is going to fight against the Joker. LEGO must transform into Robin in order to fight the Joker.

The movie has its own twists and turns and it does make you involved as the Script is intelligently written and executed. During the mid time of the movie, it does get a bit serious as the LEGO is now on a dangerous mission to fight the evil ones. This movie’s story is quite straightforward and it does not waste much time to arrive to the point. The best part of the whole movie is the cute costume of the Batman and his son. If you are a fan of the previous versions of the Batman and the Dark Knight, you will enjoy watching this movie.

Why Tom Brady’s Career Would Make The Perfect NFL Dynasty Movie

Tom Brady” (CC BY-SA 2.0) by Keith Allison

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots just get better and better. On February 5th 2017, the 39-year-old produced one of the greatest Super Bowl comebacks to lead New England to a shock victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Nobody ever doubted Brady’s ability to put pressure on Atlanta’s defence in the second half but overturning a 25-point margin took him to a league of his own.

Being completely honest, you could definitely make an entertaining and dramatic film based purely on Super Bowl 51. But when you look back over Brady’s illustrious career, you see the entire story from college to draft day, from his Patriots debut to his first Super Bowl and to the present day; a five-time NFL champion. And it’s the stuff of cinema for sure.

When he was drafted by New England with the 199th overall pick in 2000, nobody expected Brady to achieve much at all, let alone win nine AFC Championship titles and five Super Bowl rings – we’ve all seen Draft Day after all… Time and time again, Brady has overcome diversity to prove everybody wrong, and that certainly makes for a great Hollywood story. In true underdog fashion, 31 other franchises passed on Brady in the NFL Draft. Even the Patriots opted to look elsewhere in the first five rounds.

In a way, Brady has been the Adam Sandler of New England; controlling proceedings from quarterback just as Sandler does in The Longest Yard. And while some may claim that Bill Belichick, Brady’s long-time head coach at New England, holds many similarities to the warden in that particular movie, his influence at the top has been a key reason for Brady’s success at the position.

An interesting point to consider is the timing of a potential Brady movie. Do you start filming now whilst he is still playing or focus on developing an idea and then produce the movie when he’s retired? For now, Brady will remain focused on helping New England in their bid to win a sixth Super Bowl crown. According to some reports, the Patriots have already filed to trademark “Blitz for Six” and fans may be set for more “Belichickian” terms and phrases in the coming months.

The Patriots have dominated American football in the USA in recent years and a film focused on main man Brady may be well received should New England succeed in their “Blitz for Six”. One documentary, Year of the Quarterback: The Brady 6″ has emphasised on the respective careers of those quarterbacks selected before the New England man in the NFL Draft that year but it is time for a film-maker to turn attention to the greatest quarterback of all-time.

You won’t see another story quite like this in sport and if New England, +550 to win next year’s Super Bowl in bet365’s American football betting markets, can secure another title, every media platform in the United States would be looking to film and broadcast the documentary. Tom Brady is now bigger than a football player. He is a global icon and his sporting successes could very well plateau him onto the big screen in the coming years.

Whether you like him or not, Tom Brady’s achievements deserve plenty of respect and you have to admire his hunger to succeed on the big stage. The “Brady or Joe Montana” debate is subjective of course, but the New England man is certainly a bigger star than Montana ever was, and a movie based around his entire football career could potentially go down as one of the greatest sports films to hit the cinema.

Major Movie Studios Licensing their Movies to Slots Makers

Game developers look in all the unexpected places for inspiration when seeking the next idea for a slot machine. When it comes to slots based on movies, though, things get a bit complicated – they need to sign licensing agreements with the owners of their rights to be able to even touch the subject. And such license agreements are not as unusual as you might expect. The last few years has seen more movies adapted into video slot machines, especially ones you can play online, than all the previous ones combined, both classics and modern day blockbusters. Great slots of which you can get more here at Grizzly.

Microgaming signs with HBO, Studiocanal and Universal

Isle of Man based developer Microgaming has signed quite a few licensing deals in 2014, gaining the right to release three most successful slot machines. Two of them were for blockbusters from the 1990s – Universal’s insanely successful Jurassic Park, and Studiocanal’s equally resounding Terminator II Judgement Day. Both of them were released in the same year, to incredible success – no doubt, due to the players’ fond memories of the movies. (And both of them released not long before a new movie in the franchise has been announced).

But the developer has signed a surprising deal with HBO Global Licensing as well, to turn its hit TV series A Game of Thrones into a slot machine. The game was released, and was a disappointment for many – most likely thanks to the high expectations of the players. But still it’s one of the most atmospheric slots ever released by Microgaming.

NetEnt and its ongoing deal with Universal

Swedish developer NetEnt is famous for its feature- and detail-rich slot machines. It is sometimes called the “Apple of online gaming” thanks to its incredible attention to detail. And it has an ongoing deal with Universal, which allows it to release some of the best slots based on classic horror movies.

Let’s take a look at NetEnt’s Universal Monsters series: Dracula (a bit like the guy from Dracula Untold, but in a Victorian setting), Frankenstein (the Boris Karloff one), The Invisible Man (the classic one, of course), Creature from the Black Lagoon, to mention just a few.

The developer has a history of releasing highly successful movie and TV based slots – including two games with a South Park theme, one featuring Aliens, or classic mobster movies like Scarface.

Playtech’s Marvel deal

Israeli gambling solutions provider Playtech has announced its comprehensive deal with Marvel back in 2009. Since then it has released a cornucopia of video slot machines (and a handful of internet scratch cards) based on the most popular characters from the Marvel universe – the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers (all of them together, and most of them separately) and so on. These have been among the most popular slots offered by the company ever since, especially with the continuous excitement about the upcoming superhero movies.

Get a fix of your favorite movie characters with online scratch games

Today, you can play virtually any game you can think of online, and whatever you’re interested in, you’ll find an online game that’s linked to that interest. One of the latest real money games you can play online are online scratch cards – just like the ones you’ll find at the newsagents or in other shops, but now much more entertaining thanks to the variety of games you can play and the great graphics and sound effects they come with.

Of course, there is a huge range of different sites to play scratch games at, and an even bigger number of different scratch card games to choose from. So, if you’re interested in finding a great site to play at, or want to know what the most popular scratch card games are, then head to a review site like Gr8 Scratchcard to see which games are hot at the moment.

Gr8 Scratchcard not only gives in-depth reviews of different scratch games, but it also tells you where to find free scratch games to play online. This is great when you want the fun of playing, but you don’t want to pay to play. There are a surprising number of free scratch games available online, and it’s a great way to spend a few minutes of downtime as you can play wherever you have an internet connection. You can also find out which sites offer the best welcome bonuses for new players.

Thanks to the massive amount of interest in superheroes generated through the success of the Marvel film franchise with movies such as the Iron Man trilogy and those films featuring DC superheroes, Batman vs Superman: The Dawn of Justice to name one, you can play plenty of scratch games that feature superheroes and other film characters. The Superman scratch card game has a maximum prize of £100,000 to play for. One of the many free games that can be played directly through Gr8 Scratchcard is the X-Men scratch. The object of the game is to find two identical symbols, two symbols belonging to the same group or a Wild and a symbol of any group, in order to win prizes. All of the cards feature different characters from X-Men. Players can choose to play from 1 to 6 cards per game, so when you’re playing for real cash, keep an eye on the total you’re betting each time.

Some online scratch games are pretty similar to the traditional paper version you’d buy in the shops. For instance with the Iron Man 2 game, once you’ve chosen your stake, you then scratch the nine panels to see if a prize is waiting for you underneath. If you don’t want the suspense factor as you play, an autoplay function allows you to automatically scratch a set number of cards to play the game and cut straight to the chase to see if you’re a winner.

CAPTION: One of the most striking differences between online scratch cards and paper ones is that the online ones have great graphics and sound effects

The Rocky scratch game includes video action – which adds to the entertainment of the game. You choose which of three opponents Rocky will square up to, and when you’ve scratched the panel, a video of their fight plays through. If Rocky knocks out his opponent, then you land a win – to the value of the prize that you’ve revealed. However, if he loses, so do you. You get to scratch the panels to watch the other fights too, but only your first choice counts for your bet. These are just a few of the scratch card games available online. Whenever you want a quick bit of entertaining fun along with the possibility of a great cash prize, try your luck with an online scratch card.

Blu-ray Review “The Garbage Pail Kids Movie” Collector’s Edition

“The Garbage Pail Kids Movie” Collector’s Edition
Blu-Ray, DVD
Rated: PG
Studio: Shout! Factory
Film Run Time: 97 minutes

Media Mikes Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars

It Doesn’t Get Any Grosser Than This… Especially in High-Definition! Your favorite grime bandits come to life in this hilarious film full of “gross-out humor” (The New York Times). Based on the wildly trading cards, “The Garbage Pail Kids Movie” stars Mackenzie Astin (Iron Will, Wyatt Earp) as a perfectly nice teenager who discovers the Kids…to his great disgust! When the kids are accidentally released from their magical trash can prison, all smell breaks loose. Despite their offensive personal habits – and attitude problems – Dodger (Astin) soon becomes fond of the Kids. But when Messy Tessie, Foul Phil, Valerie Vomit and the whole crew join his fight against thuggish bullies, their efforts just might land them behind bars!

Upon hearing that “The Garbage Pail Kids Movie” was getting a Collector’s Edition release I couldn’t wait to check it out in person. I remember renting this movie from the local video store and watching it over and over until we had to return it sometimes just to re-rent it. The latest version of the film’s release which I picked up in Blu-Ray format didn’t really add to the films initial quality including added clarity or sound as portions of the film still remained a bit grainy and the sound a touch on the tinny side however I found those minuet short coming only added to the films appeal as it was a bit reminiscent of the worn out VHS rental cassettes of the mid/late 80’s. It was great to see classic characters such as Ali Gator, Messy Tessy and of course my personal favorite Windy Winston.

As an added bonus to the collector’s edition there are several really cool sections which includes new interviews with the films Special Makeup Effects Creator John Carl Buechler and Makeup Effects Artist Gino Crognale as well as with the films lead Mackenzie Astin, Arturo Gil (Windy Winston) And Kevin Thompson (Ali Gator) among some other great features. Once again the great people at Shout! Factory delivers with this 80’s classic which I couldn’t be happier with.

Film Review “The Peanuts Movie”

Starring: Noah Schnap, Hadley Bill Miller and Bill Melendez
Directed by: Steve Martino
Rated: PG
Running time: 1 hour 33 mins
20th Century Fox

Our Score: 4 out of 5 stars

For those of us from a certain time, the “Peanuts” comic strip is a definite part of our growing up. I collected the paperback books, read the daily comic strips and can proudly say that I am so old that I can remember watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” when it debuted! Five decades of memories are treated with the respect they deserve in the new film “The Peanuts Movie.”

As the film begins, the gang are celebrating a new snow fall, which signals a snow day. We gradually meet all of the familiar characters (Linus, Lucy, Sally and, of course, Snoopy). And we meet a new one when a moving truck shows up. The family consists of a mother and father and a pretty little red-headed girl. Cue the arrows to the heart – Charlie Brown is in love.

A production from the same group that made the “Ice Age” films, I have to give great credit to the filmmakers for keeping the look of the characters the same. Even though the animation is done via CGI, the way the characters move and interact is similar to the original hand-drawn films and television specials from the past. Each character is given their familiar traits (Lucy’s vainness, Schroeder’s piano playing, Linus and his blanket) and situations. Each character is given their due, almost as if the film was a true ensemble piece. The story is straight-forward but will be entertaining for both young and old viewers.

Sometimes when my wife and I go to Walmart we’ll go near the aisle that has the musical Snoopy figures. We have been known to press “on” occasionally and do the Snoopy dance in the middle of the store, much to the enjoyment of the other customers. Go see “The Peanuts Movie.” You’ll be doing the Snoopy dance up the aisle when it’s over!

Top 5 Australian Cult Movie Classics

It is easy to dismiss Australia in the grand scheme of things. I mean, they are so bloody far and when everywhere is summer, they have winter and vice versa. All joking aside however, Australia is a home for a long line of an outstanding cinematography pieces that are have easily crossed across the world borders and have been seen by millions of people. This is a short list that contains some of the most memorable, cult-classics that have been born on Australian soil. While you are at it, you can also play with these bonuses on your mobile phone, should you feel a bit aggravated by our picks. Now, let’s begin.

1. Mad Max (1979)

We wouldn’t have Mad Max: Fury Road without this classic piece of action and road rage starring Mel Gibson. In the dystopian future where the world is bereft of resources, a leather wearing-cop is out for revenge. Mel Gibson shines in the portrayal of the ex-police officer who is on a blood hunt of a murderous gang that had killed off his family. Not only is this movie impressive in terms of cinematography and stunts, it was made with such a low budget that might seem unreal today. It also helped propel the career of Gibson and cement Australia as the top countries to visit if you are a speed and adrenalin junkie.

2. The Interview (1998)
Before becoming internationally (meaning Hollywood) famous in the Matrix, Hugo Weaving had the lead role in this amazing drama-thriller called The Interview. While Western audiences might mistake this for an actual work-interview, Aussies will recognize it for what it is – a police interrogation. Intense and mind bending from the get go, The Interview sets you on a ride of mischief where a row of questions and answers lead to blurring the line between what can be, what is and what could be the truth. Weaving’s amazing performance is what makes this movie a must watch and is certain to remain a solid gem for fanatic movie goers.

3. Wake in Fright (Outback – 1971)
A movie’s portrayal of a man struggling to get by in the real world, especially since that world has chewed and spat him out. While the director of this movie was Canadian (Ted Kotcheff) the cinematography, the intense drama and cultural perception was very much Australian. We are talking a real cultural piece that exposed the dark and ugly side of Australia, with elements like racism, misogyny and violence. Audiences worldwide can view this masterpiece again since great efforts have been made to have it re-mastered and available as video on demand.

4. The Cars That Ate Paris (1974)
A film that can be considered as a spiritual predecessor of Mad Max, The Cars That Ate Paris is a fascinating story of greed and decadence. The plot revolves around the citizens of a small town in Australia called Paris (didn’t see that one coming, did you) where people have this nasty practice of setting up car crashes for salvage. It is gory, it is violent in its imagery and as the first piece by director Peter Weir, it is one you should not miss.

5. Crocodile Dundee (1986)
What, did you think we would forget about this one? The great popcorn movie that sparked the use of the line “that’s not a knife”, starred Paul Hogan as Mick Dundee and Linda Kozlowski and used the “Australian cowboy” goes to America jibe to poke fun at both the US and their perception of Australians. It was the humorous and quite excellent ride that helped garner fan acclaim throughout the world.

The Jurassic Park Movie Bites Off Income Record!

This weekend at the box office, there were record ticket incomes from the new Jurassic Park movie called the Jurassic World. This movie stars Chris Pratt and has been renowned so far in all of its reviews for being amazing both cinematically and via graphic design and CGI.

Going the Distance With the Jurassic Park Theme

Of course, from a business perspective, you must remember that there are other things to consider when selling a movie like Jurassic World. First, there are things like promotions at Red Flush Canada where you can actually play the slots game based on the movie. But there are sales all over from other Jurassic World things as well.

Children and teenagers especially are flocking to get new Jurassic World clothing merchandise and other items. For example, you can purchase a brand-new Jurassic Park sweatshirt or T-shirt, or you might even be interested in some other paraphernalia like toys and games for children. The movie is a little bit scary just like the other Jurassic Park films, let many children and young teens still love it nonetheless.

A Record at the Box Office

This weekend, several other feature films debuted at theaters around the country, but none of them did so well as this movie. A new Pixar film called Inside Out was released, and it did moderately well, but again, it was no match to what Jurassic World Made.

The Story of Jurassic World

If you’re interested in going to see this film in the theaters, you should try to catch up a little bit about it. Many people who went to see it caught up on the last Jurassic Park films. There were three in all, and they were based on books written by Michael Crichton. Michael Crichton has written many best-selling books that were loosely based in science just like Jurassic Park.

In Jurassic World , which is technically the fourth film in the series, the story centers around a large luxury resorts that is located in the ocean near the country of Costa Rica. This is the new attempt of the owners of Jurassic Park to make Jurassic Park reliable and sellable to tourists who want to come there and see real live dinosaurs. We know that the first Jurassic Park did not work out so well, but the owners of this new park are hoping that this will be an improved version.

The actor Chris Pratt plays an animal tamer who is being paid to try to train the dinosaurs there. There’s a big difference, however, as these dinos were genetically manipulated and engineered… They are like nothing you’ve ever seen before.

Michael Madsen talks about “The Hateful Eight” and the possibility of a “Vega Brothers” movie

Michael Madsen is the rare actor who can give the “bad guy” enough of a heart that moviegoers often root for him instead of the hero. In films like “Reservoir Dogs,” “The Getaway” and “Kill Bill, Volumes 1 and 2,” Madsen is the bad ass that the audience loves. Not that he’s always bad. He’s shown a softer side in many films, among them “Free Willy” and “Wyatt Earp.”

I spoke with Mr. Madsen about, among other things, his seemingly busy schedule, his dislike of the Internet Movie Database, the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film “The Hateful Eight” and whether or not a “Vega Brothers” film is still a possibility.

Mike Smith: I see you’re slated to play Vegas gambling mogul Ted Binion in an upcoming film. How did that come about?
Michael Madsen: The film is going to be produced by Robert Evans and directed by his son, Josh. Ted was part of the family that owned the Binion Casinos. He wound up getting hooked on drugs and ended up with a dancer and….well, they went a little crazy. He would go out and bury silver in the desert. The film is based on the book “Death in the Desert” and we shot it earlier this year in Las Vegas.

MS: You always seem to play the tough guy. Even in an early film, like “The Natural.” Your character, Bump, was a hard ass. Do you ever just want to do an out and out comedy?
MM: I’ve done a little bit. I did “My Bosses Daugher” with Ashton Kutcher…that was pretty funny. And I did a picture called “Lumberjack Man,” which hasn’t come out yet, where I play a kind of bumbling, Peter Sellers-type detective. I think it’s pretty damn funny. My comic genius hasn’t revealed itself yet (laughs).

MS: If you look at the Internet Movie Database it looks like you’re constantly working. When do you find the time to take a breath?
MM: If you look at the IMDB you would think that I was some sort of robotic machine. But the reality is that the IMDB is very, very unreliable. I would go so far as to say that they are irresponsible. There are a lot of things on there that are supposedly in pre-production and aren’t. A lot of things that are supposedly going to be released. They also mention films in which I only appear for ten minutes. I mean, in reality, no human being can make fifteen motion pictures in one year. So a lot of those are, I would say, questionable. I mean, the films that we’re talking about right now are the films I’ve legitimately done and are going to come out.

MS: I understand your frustration with IMDB. I have a few credits on there and one of them is that I hosted my own Canadian talk show back in the 1980s. I keep telling them it’s not me but they won’t listen.
MM: I’ve contacted them many times. I’ve said, “guys, it’s ME. It’s Michael. I’m telling you right now that that movie never happened, that movie was never finished, this is never going to come out…whatever the situation. And they tell me “well, it’s a public page.” And I don’t understand that. It’s kind of bewhildering…kind of irresponsible. It’s sad, you know, that they would put out information like that if it’s not true.

MS: Well, I think if they’re given the correct information they’re not only doing a disservice to their readers but to the people they’re talking about.
MM: Yeah. Then when I talk to someone like you asking me about the (25) pictures I’m in (laughs)…I have to defend myself and say no. I’d hate to think that some people were thinking about making an interesting film and they were thinking of Michael Madsen so they go to the IMDB and go “Holy Shit!” They’re not going to call me. It’s almost interfering with my work, them putting all of this stuff in there.

MS: You’ve voiced a few video games. Is there a difference in the acting process you use as opposed to films?
MM: Well, first off you don’t have to shave and you can show up in your pajamas. I would imagine Martin Sheen probably has a recording studio in his house. If I was him I sure would. Video games and voiceovers aren’t easy. You do have to be at the top of your game. You have to record each line several times. It does take four or five recording sessions, each of them lasting five or six hours, but in the end, some of the games are pretty interesting. People like them. I enjoy them. I really do.

MS: What can you tell us about “The Hateful Eight?”
MM: I’m a cowboy…a cow puncher. It’s a western that takes place on a mountain in the snow just after the Civil War.

MS: Since we’re speaking about Quentin, has he ever discussed with you the possibility of a Vega Brothers movie?
MM: We’ve talked about it many times. I think that over time the story would have had to change. I recently met John. Believe it or not, I had never met him. I met him at the Cannes Film Festival last year. I was there with Quentin and they did a screening of “Pulp Fiction” on the Majestic Beach, outdoors. It was pretty exciting…a great evening. And I met John. And I tell you, when the two of us were standing there next to Quentin…I think in that moment it might have become more of a reality. I think the Vega Brothers might be more of a reality. But that would be a question for the man. That would be a question for Quentin.
