Tim Curry, as the Butler, is the stand out though; a distinctive sharp-toothed deviousness cutting through a lovable, manic exuberance.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

The Harry Potter films thrilled multiple generations with millennials growing up alongside their heroes on screen. Throughout the films we see an assortment of games played amongst the major characters but it’s the oversized chess battle in Sorcerer’s Stone that’s worth a mention here as Harry, Hermione and Ron must win the game in order to prevent sinister teacher Quirinus Quirrell from stealing the Philosopher’s Stone and being able to provide Lord Voldemort with a potion that grants immortality.

Guitarist John 5 and his band The Creatures (bassist Ian Ross, Drummer Logan Miles Nix) are back with a brand new studio album titled “Invasion”. The fourth studio release from the Los Angeles based trio features 10 tracks produced by Barry Pointer which plunge listeners head first into the twisted, musical mind of guitar virtuoso/front-man John 5.

Just when you thought guitarist John 5 had taken his unique mixture of “Hee-Haw” infused shred as far as it could possibly go the former Marilyn Manson/K.D.Lang/Rod Stewart guitarist flips the switch to show listeners that all previous accounts were just the catalyst to “Invasion”. From the eerie opening sound-scape “Invasion” to the robotic “I Am John 5” and the quirky “Zoinks” listener’s senses are put through the wringer before being pushed even further with the twang-tastic, “Howdy” and the pedal steel laden “Cactus Flower” both of which showcase 5’s strong country influences. On the back end of the album are tracks like “I Want It All” and “I Like The Funk” both of which are doused with enough funky textures and tones that they will have the one and only George Clinton scratching his head.

You don’t have to be a guitar player to enjoy the music contained on “Invasion”. From over the top molten distortion to funkified wah worbles and sparkly cleans the latest offering from John 5 and the Creatures is a hodge-podge of musical influences which explode out of your speakers with reckless abandonment. Despite “Invasion” not being the most cohesive collection of songs from the group the album does give listeners a wide pallet to choose from making it worth checking out.

JOHN 5 and The Creatures – comprised of world-renowned guitarist JOHN 5, bassist Ian Ross and drummer Logan Miles Nix – released a brand new music video for the new track “Zoinks!” January 1! The full video – featuring an innovative blend of classic 2D hand drawn animation, 3D computer generated imagery and a live action performance – clocks in at just over eight minutes. In the tradition of Scooby Doo and Groovie Goolies, the video is written and directed by Disney animator Brett Boggs (Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph), with live footage shot by Matt Zane. As previously announced, the video features a cameo from Nikki Sixx voice acting as himself, as well as additional voice acting from Susan Olsen (known for her role as Cindy Brady on The Brady Bunch), and Fred Coury. Coury also is credited for scoring the video alongside JOHN 5.

Just like 2017’s Season of the Witch, Invasion – produced and mixed by Barry Pointer and scheduled for release during the summer of 2019 – will be entirely released via a series of music videos. Now that “Zoinks!” has been unleashed to the world,JOHN 5 is announcing the release dates for his next two music videos.

JOHN 5 adds that his new album will feature a very special guest. He says, “My new album will be out this coming summer, and will feature a very secret, special guest that I will reveal in the coming weeks. Up first, on February 1, we’ll release the next music video for the track “Crank It”. Then, on March 1, we’ll release the video sequel to “Zoinks!”, for the track entitled “I Am John 5”. There is a marijuana bill with issues surrounding both recreational and medical marijuana that is currently being reviewed. This bill proposes the expansion of the medical marijuana program and the legalization of possessing and using marijuana for adults above the age of 21 years. If this bill is to become law, the possession of an ounce of marijuana will immediately be decriminalized.

With that said, here are 5 things you should know about marijuana decriminalization in New Jersey:

  • It Will Result In An Increase In Marijuana Dispensaries

New Jersey currently has 6 medical marijuana dispensaries. With the passing of the bill to decriminalize marijuana, the result will be an increase in the number of these dispensaries. There is a possibility of hundreds of recreational dispensaries being set up across the state along with medical marijuana stores.

It is proposed that for each of the 40 legislative districts in Jersey there be at least two recreational dispensaries and an extra 40 in other places around the state. These dispensaries will be established systematically as the reported number of marijuana patients increases.

  • Predefined Places For Using Marijuana

With the decriminalization of marijuana, there would be predefined places in New Jersey where people would be allowed to consume it openly. In each of the marijuana dispensaries that is set up, there will be a lounge where people who’ve just bought the marijuana can consume it.

This is a progressive move for consumption in the public space as it was previously limited to consumption within a private residence.

  • Marijuana Taxes Will Be Applicable

There are marijuana taxes that will be applicable with its decriminalization. In the initial year, recreational marijuana will attract a 10% exercise tax for each purchase which will progressively increase to 15% in the following year. This will then grow to 20% in the third year followed by an increase to 25% in the 4th year and remain that way in the subsequent years that follow.

It is estimated that the New Jersey market will make around $300 million in tax revenue every year from marijuana. Medical marijuana tax will be eliminated after 3 years. Patients currently pay 7% tax.

  • Reduction Of Marijuana Related Crimes

Decriminalizing marijuana is expected to ultimately reduce the number of people and the record of crimes related to marijuana in New Jersey. There will be lesser people being convicted and taken to prison because of it.

  • Possible Clearance Of Old Marijuana Arrests

Decriminalization of marijuana in New Jersey comes with the possibility of clearance of old marijuana arrests. People with recorded convictions of possession of marijuana in low-levels will be eligible for clearance of their charges but they will be required to apply for clearance.

There is a bill that has been introduced that will Expunge a Marijuana Charge in NJ. The expungements are expected to be automatic. The bill is however still being reviewed.

Miller in the cast but honestly the show still delivers with a shorter yet effective season. The returning series regulars Thomas Middleditch as Richard Hendricks, Zach Woods as Jared, Kumail Nanjiani as Dinesh, Martin Starr as Gilfoyle, Josh Brener as ‘Big Head’, Amanda Crew as Monica Hall, Matt Ross as Gavin Belson, Jimmy O. Yang as Jian Yang and Suzanne Cryer as Laurie Bream. Missing a lead, this season we got to explore a little more of the main cast but I would like to see some drastic changes in future season but I feel this current path might be wearing thin.

Pied Piper finally has enough funding for proper offices and new employees, and to bring its peer-to-peer internet to the world – but leveling up introduces a whole new class of obstacles. While Richard struggles to lead a larger team and play with the big dogs, the rest of the team adjusts to new staff, new digs and new anxieties. Meanwhile, Hooli rival Gavin Belson has returned to power, but finds the threat of Pied Piper, and its boldness, hard to shake.”

“Silicon Valley: Season 5” is available as of June 11th for Digital Download. The Emmy Award-winning show tightens things up a bit this season delivering eight 30-minute episodes.
