GWAR Announces “Undead From Antarctica” Monthly Variety Show

Ready to throttle that no-neck Danzig twin Big Ed from 90 Day Fiancé? GWAR has the solution! Your Lords and Masters are launching a brand new monthly variety show from their frozen fortress to warm the cockles of your cold dead hearts! “Undead From Antarctica” will premiere this Sunday at 9:00 PM Eastern, on GWAR’s YouTube Channel.

This is the show you’ve been hoping for ever since you went down the rabbit hole of “Phallus In Wonderland” so many years ago. You will be tortured by 30 minutes packed full of the sick and twisted entertainment you’ve come to expect from your lords and masters. In this episode you’ll get an in depth lessons on the History of GWAR, pound booze with JiZMak, witness an intimate conversion between Pustulus and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, find your only real source for Fake News and if you are insanely lucky, you might be named as one of the Bohabs of the Week! And, oh yeah, did we forget to mention, we’ve got the X-COPS!!

If you survive the broadcast, airing immediately after UFA, you can enjoy the after-party: “Undead Live!” a live-cast where fans can ask questions of a member of GWAR and try to make sense of what will undoubtedly prove to be a confusing jumble of chaos. This week’s guest host will be BalSac the Jaws ‘o Death!

Sundays will be known as “Undead Night” from now on. Every second Sunday of the month will feature a new edition of “Undead From Antarctica ”, but you won’t have to spend the other 30 odd days missing your Scumdog Overlords, because on the intervening Sundays you will still get a new ”, where you can interact with GWAR from safely behind your computer screen.

“It’s like Saturday Night Live,” says BalSac, “except it’s not on Saturday, it’s on Sunday., And it’s not live, it’s undead, And it’s not on TV, it’s on your computer or phone. And…it’s funny.”

Those run of dates will follow the March run with Dance Gavin Dance and Abandon All Ships. CD Review: Hollywood Undead "Notes from the Underground"

The masked rock/rap group known as Hollywood Undead is back with their latest offering titled “Notes From The Underground”. The album is the follow up to the groups 2011 release “American Tragedy” and is being released via A&M/Octone Records. Produced by Griffin Boice, Danny Lohner, S*A*M and, Sluggo the 11 tracks contained on “Notes From The Underground” cover an immense amount of musical territory. From rolling anthem filled ballads to in your face thrash the band has provided its listeners with a little bit of everything. Be sure to check out our interview with Hollywood Undead vocalist Johnny 3 Tears, here.

At first listen the album at times can seem a little hokey however after spending a little more time listening to the tracks they really start to sink their hooks in. Tracks such as “Lion” which starts off with a light and simplistic piano/drum/vocal section quickly transforms in to a catchy sing along chorus
that would be right at home on popular radio. While the album’s first single “We Are” is a bit darker and features more rap infused vocals and is very reminiscent of songs found on the group’s debut release “Swan Songs”. The choice of using multiple producers can at times be risky however it has appeared to have paid off this time as the 11 tracks blend seamlessly from one to another. If you are a fan of albums that take you from point A to point B while hitting all stops in between “Notes From The Underground” will fit perfectly into your playlist rotation.

DVD Review “Rammbock: Berlin Undead”

Our Score: 2.5 out of 5 stars

I love myself any zombie movies that I can get my hands on but this one really fails to deliver the goods. This film also only runs barely over an hour and it doesn’t quite feel like a film more like an extended short. I think the development of the characters and the story really take a hit due to this. The zombies are cool and kick some ass but once it starts to get good it ends. The film origins from Germany and maybe something is lost in there.

The film focuses about a virus that rapidly spreads and turns people into mindless homicidal maniacs. Our focus is with the character Michael who tries to visit this ex-girlfriend in Berlin but ends up with much more to deal with. He doesn’t meet up with his ex but he meets Harper from her apartment and together they manage to hold themselves up against the hordes of the infected around the building. It up to Michael find his ex-girlfriend Gabi and more importantly survive.

I may have been a little hard on this film since overall it is somewhat entertaining. I liked the zombies but just the story didn’t do it for me. Overall the production values were good and felt bigger than what they were. The DVD also lacks any special features at all which is also very disappointing. All in all, there are so many better zombie-infected films out there, so this is worth the skip and doesn’t reinvent the zombie genre.
