Playmobil continues to expand their ever growing universe of characters, play sets and vehicles with their latest release of Series 18 blind bags. The series features 24 figures in all (12 girls and 12 boys) and will fit seamlessly into previously released sets adding new elements of adventure and creativity.

As a parent we have all had that moment where we are at the store with our child or children almost ready to check out and they ask if we can look at the toy section. Of course we all know how this inevitably turns out. Within in seconds you have a toy or two in your cart and that quick stop for a couple items has now turned into a bigger purchase. That’s how we first came across Playmobil Blind Bags. Not only were the figures inside all really cool but it turned into a hunt to find them all given the contents were hidden within shiny reflective packaging that helped make it stand out on the robust shelves. That was several series ago and we are still in love with these figures. Series 18 includes some of the coolest additions to line yet! You have a Top Hat wearing female vampire, a stilt walking clown with real squirting flower, a translucent space adventurer and probably our person favorite a bearded, tattoo clad guitar player!

Each figure is stylized in the traditional Playmobil design and includes one or more accessory which corresponds with the figure. As mentioned before the series features 12 girl and 12 boy figures which are denoted by metallic pink packaging for the girls and metallic blue for the boys. This has been a simple yet effective tool for parents going back a couple series now that help decipher which figure might be inside. It’s especially helpful if the youngster in your life is looking for a specific character or attempting to collect a specific series.

We can’t say enough great things about Playmobil and the Series 18 figures. Not only does the latest series add some rather interesting characters to our growing collection but they also gave new life to some of our older figures by bringing them back into the fold. Our older Vampire affectionately known as “Fizzle Faz” now has a female companion. Our knights and dragons now have a bow and arrow carrying fairy along with an impressively armored young lady. Though I would not recommend these figures for non-school age children given the smaller pieces and the need for assembly which at times can be a bit frustrating, everyone else in the family will certainly enjoy getting in on all the fun possibilities these toys can offer. I know I certainly did.

Internationally-renowned heavy rock band LAMB OF GOD will release a brand new EP, entitled The Duke, on November 18, 2016 via Epic Records. The EP will be released as a vinyl version the following week, on November 25. The Duke EP is titled after the new track “The Duke”, written in honor of the band’s late friend and fan, Wayne Ford, who was named after “The Duke” John Wayne.

“A little while ago I became friends with a fan named Wayne Ford – he was terminal – leukemia. I talked with him often, even video chatted him into the studio. He was very calm about his impending death, and we discussed it very openly. I learned a lot from him. This song is for him,” dedicates vocalist Randy Blythe.

David Gilmour to Release New Album, “Rattle That Lock” Friday, September 18, 2015

NEW YORK, July 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ —  David Gilmour has announced that his new solo album Rattle That Lock will be released worldwide on Friday, September 18, 2015 on Columbia Records.  The album will be available for preorder and the first single, also titled “Rattle That Lock” will be released on Friday, July 17, 2016.

Additionally David Gilmour’s first North American dates in ten years were announced today.  The “David Gilmour Live 2016” concert  appearances will take place in March & April with stops in Los Angeles, Toronto,Chicago and New York. Ticket buyers will be among the first to receive the new album, as every ticket purchased online will include a Rattle That Lock CD.

The “Live 2016” appearances will be David Gilmour’s first live concert dates since the “On An Island” tour in 2006, and will follow his UK and European tour this September/October. All tickets for the North American Tour dates go on sale Friday, July 17, 2015 (exact times listed below).

Rattle That Lock is David Gilmour’s fourth solo album and follows his 2006 #1 in the UK record On An Island. The primary lyricist for the new album is Gilmour’s long-term writing partner, Polly Samson, and it is co-produced by David Gilmour and Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera.  Rattle That Lock‘s striking cover has been art directed by Dave Stansbie from The Creative Corporation under the creative directorship of Aubrey Powell from Hipgnosis.

The film follows Javier, a second generation clown who dreams to follow in his father’s footsteps as a Happy Clown but has seen too much tragedy and suffering in his life to be anything but its counterpart. He finds work in a circus where he befriends an outlandish cast of characters, but as the Sad Clown, he must take the abuse of the brutish Happy Clown, Sergio, who humiliates Javier daily in the name of entertainment. Synopsis
Javier, a Sad Clown, finds work in a circus where he befriends an outlandish cast of characters, including the brutish Happy Clown, Sergio, who humiliates Javier daily in the name of entertainment. Javier falls deeply in love with Natalia and tries to rescue her from her cruel and violent husband, unleashing Sergio’s jealousy.
