Product Review: Loog Pro VI Acoustic and Pro VI Electric Guitars

Loog Guitar

Pro VI Acoustic and Pro VI Electric

Loog

Our Score:  Pro VI Acoustic 4 out of 5 stars

Pro VI Electric 3.5 out of 5 stars

Loog Guitars burst on to the musical instrument scene in 2011 with a unique 3 stringed guitar design which utilizes the G, B and E strings and is set on a smaller scaled neck and body making it ideal for learners of all ages. In 2017 after a second successful Kickstarter campaign earning Loog the title of “Best-Selling Guitar Ever on Kickstarter” the company has yet to slow down or stop evolving their ever-growing product line.

The latest Loog offering is that of the Pro VI Acoustic and Electric models. Both guitars feature the companies first 6 string configurations which are set on larger scales and designed for guitarists ages 12 and up. Having purchased the 3 string Loog Pro for my son about a year ago both he and I were anxious to check out both new models, so we decided to start with the Pro VI Acoustic first as it was the most like our previous Loog.

After a quick tune up the Acoustic Pro VI was virtually ready to go right out of the box (something you do not often see from guitars in this price range). The overall feel of the guitar was quite good, and the added size of the neck and body balanced nicely in both sitting and standing positions. Where I felt the guitar really excelled was in the sound and projection. The parlor sized basswood body (available in 6 colors) has a mid-high tone range which helps each chord and note ring out loud and clear while the maple neck provides a solid fretting surface for both small and large hands. Though the fret ends could use a little work in the finishing department the guitar stays in tune quite well (a definite plus for younger players) and the overall playability and look of the guitar is quite good which made for an enjoyable playing experience.

Next, we fired up the Pro VI Electric guitar. After a quick install of a 9-volt battery (not included) via the compartment on the back and a flick of the micro switch located on the front of the guitar we were up and rocking. Though this is not Loog’s first attempt at amplification it is their first 6 string attempt and I have to say it is not half bad! The guitar features a paulownia body (available in 6 colors), 19 fret maple neck, volume & gain controls and an input jack for external amplification. Playability wise the Pro VI Electric has a comfortable feel with consistent balance despite the unique body shape. The maple neck has a straight, fast feel which will only get better the more you play it. Much like the Acoustic Pro VI and the Standard Pro I previously purchased I did find the fret work a little disappointing. The fret ends on both the upper and lower edge of the neck were rough and a bit inconsistent in length. This does seem to be a common flaw with Loog guitars and one I hope they look to address on future models. Sound wise it may take newer plays a little bit to adjust to the internal speaker sound when attempting to dial in a sound they like. Due to the limited controls (volume & gain) of the internal amp and the limited sweep of the knobs players basically get an all or nothing distorted tone which for some may be a little off putting and unusable especially if you are wanting a clean tone at higher volumes. Bypassing the internal amp via the front mounted input jack and plugging into an external amp did give the guitar a whole new feel and sound but not without a few quirks as using that input disables the volume and tone controls which may cause a bit of confusion for newer players.

From head to toe the Pro VI Acoustic and Pro VI electric and great additions to the Loog line up. Yes, the guitars could benefit from some better finish work as both examples featured rough fret ends and inconsistent body finishes however you will be hard pressed to find anything as nice as what Loog offers in this price ( Pro VI Acoustic $149, Pro VI Electric $199). Not only does Loog offer solid instruments for all ages but the included flash card set and downloadable Loog learning app is a fun and interactive way for all ages to learn. For players wanting to expand their learning outside the App Loog lessons of all ability are offered in both group and private formats via Lessonface.com. Loog is more than just another guitar company with a product to sell. Along with providing an affordable, quality instrument the company is heavily invested in music education for both young and old so if you are looking to learn or want to expand your music knowledge then give Loog a look. You will not be disappointed.

Product Feature: “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” – Tanjiro Kamado Watch

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” has quickly become one of my favorite anime of 2020. The show packs it all – horror, drama and action into its first season of 26 episodes. The first movie, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train” is currently blowing up the box office in Japan with a scheduled release of 2021 in the U.S. This anime shows no signs of slowing down as it takes over the world. But the anime isn’t stopping with just these episodes and the movie…

SuperGroupies, a fashion brand offering products inspired by anime and games, has delivered 12 new items based on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. This collection includes a watch, bag, and wallet inspired by four of the main characters; Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Giyu Tomioka. All of the items are designed with meaningful motifs such as the details of the character’s outfits, Kasugai Crows and more.

One that we will be showcasing today is a black x green watch inspired by Tanjiro Kamado. The second hand and an index are in red, inspired by his hair and eye color. The center of the dial has a Japanese traditional checkered pattern inspired by his haori with an embossed motif of his earrings. The lining of the strap is colored green and the word “滅” (metsu) on the Demon Slayer Corps uniform is designed on the case back.

This watch is sleek and really sharp looking. The colors really pop and completely remind you of the character Tanjiro Kamado. SuperGroupies did an amazing job with this watch matching it to the character. If you are a fan of the anime series, you are going to want to have this watch for sure.

Product Review: Embassy Skateboards

Embassy Skateboards
Model: John Gibson

Our Score: 4.5 out 5 stars

Looking to find that special something for the skateboarder on your Christmas list this year? Embassy Skateboards has just what you need to put a smile on that loved ones face this holiday season. Based deep within the heart of Texas and helmed by John “Tex” Gibson and Lee Leal the company has been churning out quality skate goods since 2009. From old school to new school Embassy has something for every generation of skater.

I had the chance to check out one of the brands John Gibson models and put it through the paces at our local skate park and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The board we received was a beautifully deep red dipped new school shaped board with a width of 8.5” and length of 32”. The screen printed graphics were vibrant and reminiscent of Pushead graphics of the 1980’s (a definite plus for an old school guy like myself) and after a quick set up I was ready to go. When just cruising around the board’s wide wheel base provided good stability and the mid depth concave gave a nice comfortable shape for your feet to rest in. The 7 ply Canadian maple offered plenty of pop and at times made tricks feel a touch easier given the boards responsiveness.

After putting the deck through a couple more sessions I can safely say that Embassy makes a quality product through and through. Detailed craftsmanship combined with great looks and functionality makes for a product you will surely be happy with and one that is built to last. At the time of typing this, the exact board we received was not currently available for order however there are plenty of other killer decks and products available. If you have ever tried to wade through the sea of online skateboard shops or made a trip to a certain sometimes pushy retail mall shop you know what a hassle it can be to find a good skate product. Save yourself some time and head over to Embassy Skateboards you won’t be disappointed.

Product Feature “The Nightmare Before Christmas” Jack Skellington and Sally Airblown Inflatable Scene

When it comes to anything inflatable, the company that is the leader is no question, Gemmy. They come out with literally the best airblown inflatable products for all the holidays. Christmas has always been the big go-to for inflatables but recently Halloween has been stealing some of the spotlight with Gemmy putting out some excellent products.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” and Gemmy has delivered four new products to celebrate. The one that we received from Gemmy to feature is a scene with Jack Skellington, Sally and even Zero. It is runs about 6 feet tall and is available at Walmart. There is also an inflatable with Jack and Oogie Boogie, that was a close second to this one.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas” Jack Skellington and Sally Airblown Inflatable Scene is easily one of our instant favorites and what is even cooler is that this scene could also work well for the Christmas season as well if you are a big fan of the film like our house is. The lights are really bright on these and I love how it has a base stand around it which makes it VERY easy to display in small areas since it stands up easily.

Gemmy also has great other Halloween products including a Minion Ghost (also a great purchase, I can see this side by side with the Jack & Sally scene) as well as a Bewitched Pumpkin Carriage with a Fire and Ice Projection. Easy year they are outdoing themselves with these products. I am very proud to display this product in front of my house and I see cars slow by as they pass just to get a good look at night cause honestly, it looks amazing from the street. Don’t wait head to Walmart now!

Product Review “Shady Rays X Series – Blackout Polarized Sunglasses”

I am a true believer in ad placement. I used to work ad placement for my previous company and it is a very important part of a businesses’ success. I recently came across a ad on Facebook for Shady Rays sunglasses. I clicked on the ad to take a look and was very impressed with the product. I reached out to request product to review and feature on the site and let me tell you I am very glad that I did! I am always (and I know I am not alone here) on the hunt for new sunglasses that look good but don’t cost me a mortgage payment. I think I have found them!!!

The Shady Rays X Series – Blackout Polarized Sunglasses are easily one of the most comfortable sunglasses that I have ever worn. They have a real nice sporting looking frame with strong grip made to withstand high speed activity like running, hiking and climbing, water-sports, and more. I am not doing much of that BUT I do have a near 6 year old and I need to be quick when playing outside! These shades are slick looking and get great wrap around coverage so I am not seeing the glasses and then above and below outside the glasses. They fit your face just right and allow you to see without squinting from any angle.

I should also point out that my wife gets not bad but terrible migraines. She got one while we were driving and during this time she needs to block out all sunlight, even closing her eyes don’t help. She threw on these shades while we were driving and she couldn’t get over the relief that she was receiving from the usual pain and discomfort she gets during a typical migraine. She then preceded to wear them and ride out the rest of the migraine and it easily made it much more manageable. This might not be for everyone but I feel like it is worth noting for sure!

These shades comes with HD Polarized black lenses including 100% UV protection, are shatter-resistant and also salt water proof! The last one will be very useful in the pool and ocean! There is also a really kick ass Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty & Free Replacements if Lost or Broken – just pay S+H fee for lost/broken replacements. I mean that is solid. I mean the pricing alone for these are only $45 dollars and they are worth every penny! The X Series are a big hit for sure and I see myself using Shady Rays my new go to for my sunglasses needs!!

Product Review: Prohibited 5th Degree Vaporizer

If the Prohibited 5th Degree looks familiar to you that is because you might have seen it before. VMR Products recently re-branded its V2 Pro Series 7 with a concentrates cartridge instead of a liquid cartridge. The product comes in a ton of new very snazzy colors such as bone (white), jade (teal), struck (purple) and singed (black). I have used the Series 7 in the past and it was always my favorite vaporizer on the market…and trust me I tried them all.

The Prohibited 5th Degree Vaporizer does it all! Out of the box, you can used this multi-function device to either vaporize dry herb or concentrates by simply swampping out the magnetic drop-in cartridges. I honestly love these magnetic connectors cartridges. It makes it so easy to swap out cartridges. The 5th Degree Kit comes stocked with one cartridge for dry herb and one for concentrates and a recessed chamber for cartridges that eliminates the risk of leaks or breaks.

The Dry Herb Cartridge boasts the fact that it features “the fastest heat up time of any vaporizer”. It is fairly quick for sure. The multiple clicking every time to get into the modes is a little annoying I have to admit but I have been using it for a while and it almost feels natural after awhile. The Concentrates Cartridge can used for shatter, wax, oil, and other similar concentrates. The heater featured has a Dual-Quartz and Titanium heater to produce the thickest and smoothest vapor.

Even though I mention that the multiple clicks get annoying but what doesn’t get annoying is the smart technology this devices uses that recognizes each type of cartridge automatically and then heats to optimal vaporizing temperature without guessing. You get three different temperature settings that allow you adjust for yourself.

Dry Herb and Consentrates not enough? You can easily uprade your Prohibited 5th Degree Vaporizer with an optional Dabber and E-Rig Concentrates cartridges. There is no literally no contest with this product. You can compare it to other devices like PAX 3, Firefly 2, DaVinci IQ, Dr. Dabber Boost and Dipper and it comes out on top every time! So the rebranding from the Series 7 may not be drastic besides its cartridge inclusion but it is still no question my go-to vaporizer.

Product Feature “Jenga Giant JS7”

The holidays are approaching quickly and it is time to get your gifts in order! Well look no further than one of the coolest gifts someone can receive (within ages 12+). Jenga has always been fun but rather small in scale. Well, that has all changed with Jenga Giant JS7, this game definitely lives up to the name. This game is the literally the largest authentic hardwood JENGA® game you can buy and it can scale as high at FIVE FEET! Yes, five feet tall!

This game features 54 oversized, precision-crafted, high quality, smoothly polished hardwood blocks packaged within a heavy duty carry bag. The game is a little higly priced to be honest at an MSRP $169.95 but Amazon has it for less than $120, so might want to consider that angle or if not they are available on jengagiant.com.

Personally, I have always been a huge fan of Jenga and with the releases of their “Giant” product it has re-won me over as an adult now (or at least a pretend adult, lol). Note that if you do get this product to heights of five plus feet, it falls hard and if it hits your toes..OUCH! So make sure you have plenty of room to play. Get some friends/family around and get ready to have a blast!

Product Feature “PlayMonster Ultra Dash”

When it comes to getting kids outside these days and away from phones, tablets or video games and getting outside and running around. I want that! Ultra Dash from PlayMonster is your answer to get those kids outside and running around. At first, this reminded me of a Bop-It toy, which is still cool but this is so much more. When the colors flash you need to move fast! You can design your own course with targets. There are also three modes to play. You can play against yourself or with all your friends in each of these modes:

  • Beat the Clock: See how quickly you can run the course and hit the taggers as colors flash!
  • Target Tally: Choose your time and then see how many targets you can hit!
  • Relay Race: It’s team vs. team in a race to hit targets!

Ultra Dash has taken the age old game of tag and made it even cooler. As soon as the first color flashes, you start and race to the targets! The tagger knows if you tag the right color! If the light’s green and you tag a yellow target, the tagger will know and keep track! Re-setup and play again. This game features endless fun within its game modes. You will thank me later, when the parents have some house time all to themselves with the wonderful sounds of kids playing outside.

Product Review: V2 Pro Series 3

V2 Cigs have been around for years they were one of the original electronic cigarette manufacturers and are known around the world as makers of high quality electronic cigarettes. The V2 Pro Series 3 is perfect vape for all your stealth vaping needs, as it looks like a regular electronic cigarette and doesn’t produce much visible vapor. You can also easily switch the cartridges around depending on what you choose to vape. However, because of this small size, it also has a small capacity, so this is really for more of a solo vaper.

In e-cigarette mode, the V2 Pro shines, besting other e cigs that are in its class and price range with good vapor production. Those who prefer a hit akin to traditional cigarettes will enjoy the V2 Pro immensely. There is also a ten-second cut-off time to prevent e-liquid from tasting burnt. The tank attachment for this device are quite impressive. Unlike other tanks where I have experience several leaks while testing, the V2 Pro proves it’s a solid Vape pen. Clouds are not as massive as other e-cigarettes and tank combos, but the vapor it delivers is warm and satisfying to the user.

The V2 Pro features a two minute automatic shut off which to help minimize incidents of overheating over using the battery.  The magnetic connection of a V2 Cigs 3-in-1 removes threading issues and also unifies the exterior appearance of this electronic cigarette/vaporizer. The connection is made sturdier by the fact that your cartridge slots into a portal shaped to accept its size and shape. All cartridges feature the same dimensions, but smart technology differentiates each one for the benefit of V2 Cig’s Pro Series 3 rechargeable battery.

If you’re looking for an affordable pen vaporizer with stealth in mind, or a pen that can do dry herbs, this is the vape for you. For $59.99, you can own the base. But it’s useless without at least one cartridge since no other company has introduced magnetic connections yet. That’s the price you pay to replace your battery when it runs out of juice. A starter kit costs $62.26 and features the e liquid cartridge with a USB charger cable. Add a Loose Leaf cartridge for $26.92 and an essential oil version for the same price.

I was pleasantly surprised by the life of their Pro Series 3 battery as it lasted my entire day (roughly 8 hours of sporadic use) it lasts a long time. E liquid lasts long enough to get up to 800 puffs out of a full cartridge. While the Series 3 may not be the best at everything, it does a lot. If you need a vape that can do it all, and you don’t want multiple units, this is probably one of the best vaporizers to buy. Click here to buy.

Pros

  • Ultra small and compact
  • Very discreet and stealthy, looks like an electronic cigarette
  • Vapes dried herb evenly and thoroughly
  • Can be used with e-liquid
  • Components clip together magnetically
  • Can be used while charging
  • Charger connects to regular USB (adaptor available for car lighter)
  • One of the best vapes in it’s price range
  • Doesn’t burn herb like most vape pens

Cons

  • Features only one temperature setting
  • The heating chamber holds a very small amount of herb (about .1 of a gram)
  • Ring around the mouthpiece gets quite hot after extended use
  • Battery only lasts about 30-45 minutes per charge

Product Feature: V2 VERTX PLUS

The VERTX PLUS brings some of the technologies that were pioneered with the V2 Pro series like the magnetic connections, drop-in cartridges and higher vapor production, to name a few examples. The VERTX PLUS is an upgraded version with variable power levels whose costs comes in at around $90. One of the VERTX PLUS cartridge should be more than sufficient for a full day of vaping (while using the lowest setting). A battery charge lasts for hours, but you aren’t in doubt of the charge life because of lights along the side of the device. The body of the VERTX PLUS has a window on the side that allows you to see the remaining e-liquid easily without removing the cartridge from the e-cig.

The vapor production of the VERTX PLUS is excellent. V2 also produces blank cartridges so that you can even use your own favorite e-cig juice in it. But if you want the prepackaged flavors they are Congress, V2 Red, Sahara, Menthol, Green Tea Menthol and Peppermint. The flavors are exactly the same as the ones that V2 sells by the bottle and in cartridge form for the original V2 Cigs e-cigarette. The VERTX PLUS cartridges of all that I have used have to be the most reliable ones to date. Even more during my testing, I didn’t experience a single “dry hit” at any voltage level. The cartridges are about as leak-free as one could ask given the amount of liquid that they hold. The air tube leading out of the cartridge does tend to collect a bit of condensation, though, so you can expect a drip here or there if the VERTX spends too much time upside down.

The VERTX PLUS is a superb e-cigarette for beginners and is a device that’s positioned to give you the best performance possible while staying within the new regulations that the FDA has set forth. So, if you’re a smoker who wants to switch to e-cigarettes right now, there is probably no better choice than the V2 VERTX PLUS. Click here to buy.

Product Feature: V2 Pro Series 7 Vaporizer Kit

When it comes to vaporizers, I have been on the search for the perfect tool. V2 is a company that I found and and offers one hell of a product. That product is the V2 Pro Series 7 Kit includes everything . This is the one-stop tool for all your vaping needs. Some of the new features include like variable voltage and temperature settings. These are items that I specifically look for in a vaporizer. Another outstanding feature on the Series 7 is that it has a bigger storage capacity and solid battery life.

If you are familiar with the Series 3 vape pen then this is not new for I zoned in on the Series 7 since it offers cartridges for for add-on like loose leaf, e-liquid and wax. If you purchase this kit above that we are feature luckily it comes with both the e-liquid and loose leaf cartridges. Otherwise, they the cartridges are available to purchase individually. But let me tell you have these three cartridges today makes this the one of the best choices for all-in-one vaporizers.

One of my main urks about this product originally was the button pressing to get to where you need to get. I am used to it now and definitely have no issue but it did take a little bit to become a habit. To turn it on you have to click fast five times. Then you have to press two more times within a half a second…(Confused a little?)…then still flashing each of the three lines and you will be able to press it again when the level you want is lit. Lastly, once your temperature is chosen you hold the button for about 5-7 seconds which will turn on the heater. It turns off about a short period on its own and you press the button three times to turn it fully off and you will see a red light flash.

Overall, I have been very satisfied so far with this product. Once you get used to the routine above it just feels natural and I was worried at first it would be annoying but honestly not at all. I also love that the Series 7 has this smart technology so that it recognizes which cartridge type you have inserted and automatically heat to optimum vaporizing temperature. This allows you to just relax and enjoy!

Product Review “Parrot Mambo”

Having Owned several drones and RC toys in my past I would best describe as a very suitable pick-up and fly mini drone. Parrot Did a great job on this drone of making it user friendly to the point of pairing it to your phone and in 3 seconds your flying around with ease. Now while the Parrot Mambo is close to your typical quadcopter drone, Parrot made sure to tuck in a few extra goodies to make it an even better buy at the under $150 range.

Below are some of the key features of the Parrot Mambo:

  • High Performance Sensors For Stability
  • Easily Do Flips and Stunts With the Push of a Button
  • Remotely Fired Cannon With 6 Shot Capacity (1 Shot every 1.5 seconds)
  • Remotely Triggered Grabber That Can Carry Up To 4 gram objects
  • Ability to Toss To Takeoff
  • Pilot with Free iOS or Android App
  • Fly With Optional Parrot Flypad
  • 65 Foot range with Smartphone, 200 Foot range with Flypad
  • 1 Year Support and Assistance Warranty

As parrot continues to push it affordable line of drones with the Mambo (seeing as how other drones can run 300 and up). Coming in at only 15cm the parrot Mambo pack a lot of power in a little frame. The body is made to withstand some punishment (the average user would see a long life form the drone) while Parrot included the options for guards or no guards (hull) to keep the weary mind at bay. I even noticed during prolonged use that I hit a wall and bent one propeller but thanks to the materials used by Parrot the blades damage almost fixed itself as if it never happened (may just be a one instance thing but the strength of the blades on the propellers seem stronger than the normal).

When it comes to flight you’ll notice right away that the Mambo is easy to control for even the newest drone users. The Mobile app used to fly the drone come pre-programmed with a handful of flight maneuvers for your Mambo to do with just a push and even just sitting around and trying to do trick over stuff can be extremely entertaining. Now while I’d like to see more out of the battery life it excusable seeing how much power this little guy put’s out. Also Parrot includes a pair of batteries to switch out for longer flights. But extra batteries can always be purchased. The 9 minutes of flying time per charge may not seem like much at first but when you compare that to other mini-drone’s it stacks up pretty good and even gives you enough time to really enjoy what its capable of before it comes time to charge up again.

The extra fun comes with the Mambas add-ons that Parrot included and even featured in their video demo station on their site. With the Cannon it was very surprising to see the amount of force that it can produce fun for an obstacle course. Followed by using the Arm attachment to garb little things and carry them to you drones next destination (like say your spare battery.. just joking). So for those who are looking to have a little bit of fun with their new purchase they’ll find that the Mambo has some interesting features which you will not find on your typical drone for a very affordable price.

Product Review “Elite Pro Tournament Headset”

Turtle Beach is a brand that’s long been in the headset game, and they have had their fair share of competition. The Turtle Beach Elite Pro Tournament headset, as its name suggests, targets gamers who aim to play at a professional level. This Headset is uses a strong frame of metal, that encompasses most of the headset. Though the usual areas still have other parts such as the ear cup covers. But overall at first glance it seems to be a headset meant to survive consistent use.

A feature that I truly appreciated was the ability to pop off the ear cushions and with the flip of a switch cause an indent in them that’s designed to allow glasses to be worn comfortably with the headset. This actually removed pressure, where other headsets would create after long use. During gaming the headset sounds great at any rate, personally I would have like some more on the low ends but with its design offering impressive noise cancelling that helps to make its output more impressive. And the clarity of the mic paired with the TAC create clear precise audio for you and your team.

The Elite package comes with the Tactical Audio Controller (TAC) which adds even more options by using a Powered mixer. The TAC headset offers simulated 7.1 surround sound through 16 surround sound presets. If you’re an upcoming eSports star, the Elite Pro headset is slowing making its way up to the standard for audio. Now the Price tag is on the high end but a lower price would mean losing out on features. Final verdict is that with a little lower price it could be the Must-Have for the year.
