The holidays are over, so get up, couch potato! High voltage party polka virtuosos RUSSKAJA provide the perfect soundtrack to get you moving with their new album, ‘Turbo Polka Party’, out February 3, 2023 via Napalm Records. Once again mixing elements of punk, ska, polka and metal, the upcoming record is their most danceable and hard-hitting studio album to date.

Only RUSSKAJA can properly blend nu metal with the aforementioned contrasting genres and come out the other side with a perfectly addictive new track like “Shapka” (the name for a Russian fur cap)! The multinational musicians conjure the likes of nu metal legends Limp Bizkit in their MTV heydays, blending addictive beats, chunky riffs and raucous rap interludes with upbeat potete and tuba blasts – uniting the best of both worlds. Along with a new lyric video, the relentlessly catchy single lines right up with RUSSKAJA fan favorites.

Is it the mighty Fred Durst you can hear in RUSSKAJA’s new single “Shapka”? Or is it guitarist/songwriter Engel Mayr giving the song an unmistakable nu metal twist with his voice? Check it out and let us know if you can find Fred Durst in the brand-new track!

Drummer Mario Stübler on the new single:

“I can’t wait to play “Shapka” live! It’s got a groove that makes you move so put on your dance shoes and shake your booty with us!”

Watch the Lyric Video for “Shapka” HERE

Hailing from Austria but wearing their Ukrainian and Russian heritages on their sleeves, RUSSKAJA present their hardest-hitting studio album to date. Although they are one of the most entertaining bands in rock, RUSSKAJA have never strayed away from clear political statements. The band, known for utilizing Soviet imagery as a nod to their cultural background, sends a clear sign against war – calling for peace and humanity on ‘Turbo Polka Party’. This message is particularly emphasized on “No Borders” – reflective of the cries for peace RUSSKAJA stated in the wake of the Ukrainian/Russian tensions flaring in the beginning of 2022.

The band has also produced a special “No Borders” shirt, and will donate 100% of proceeds earned from its sale to the charity organization “Volkshilfe”, benefitting Ukrainian refugees. The shirt is available together with the Special Edition autograph card “No Borders”, which is signed by the entire band, and can be purchased via RUSSKAJA’s website.

RUSSKAJA undoubtedly master the tightrope act between clear message and entertainment. With “Russki Style”, they show themselves on well-tread paths. But a party can’t happen without friends! Micha Rhein from In Extremo finds a place on the wistful “Olga von der Wolga”, while Skindred singer Benji Webbe supports the rousing reggae metal track “Vozdukh” and Hamburg dance act Le Fly convinces with exotic groove on the German-Spanish song “Senales”. Even the Wham hit “Last Christmas” is not safe from RUSSKAJA.

ORGY Drops New Single “Empty” on Friday, January 13th

Announces Upcoming Festival Date
at Sick New World in Las Vegas

NEWMUSIC EP Scheduled for Summer Release

“I’m excited to finally start getting these tracks out for Orgy again. As we move toward a new direction musically speaking, I wanted to put a track out that has a bit of that signature Orgy sound, and hint at what’s coming next. Hope everyone will see the big picture and enjoy this track called “Empty” about being drained from always trying to make everyone happy.” – Jay Gordon

WATCH TEASER CLIP HERE:

ORGY’s Jay Gordon shares, “I’m really stoked to deliver this track “Empty” which sums up the rigors of both intimate and platonic friendships alike, and how draining they can be to maintain.” The band is excited about a few up & coming dates; The Whisky a Go Go on March 24, 2023 and most notably Live Nation’s “Sick New World” music festival on May 13, 2023. We will be adding a few select dates along the way, in support of the new music we have coming out soon!

ORGY spawned from the late 1990’s Goth music scene with their incredible remake of New Order’s “Blue Monday.” Upon release the track sold over one million copies and has sold more than 2 million copies to date. In late 2005, after the release of Punk Statik Paranoia via D1 Music and Associates, their independent DVD TRANS GLOBAL SPECTACLE via D1 Music / DLC Records, and a promotional tour, the band went on a hiatus to work on their side projects. In 2011, after seven years of demand from fans for new music and a tour, founding member Jay Gordon (vocals) decided it was time to kick things back up and begin recording and touring again in support of ORGY’s fans. Jay, Carlton Bost and Nic Speck have been the ORGY core since 2011.

After several years of releasing singles to the masses, ORGY has proven their long-lasting potency with a refreshed line-up and sound. The modern incarnation of ORGY has been transformed and sees the band poised to re-establish themselves in the EDM, industrial and hard rock scenes. Make no mistake about it, the ORGY brand is not going away anytime soon. As long as the fans demand new music and tours, the band is ready, willing and able to fill their request.

In 2023, ORGY released a video for “EMPTY,” a track mixed by Eric Racy and mastered by Trevor Case of Case mastering. This newer sound for ORGY has great lyrics, melodies, and guitars.

ORGY played Vampire Freaks Dark Side of the Con in April 2022 and did a short 7 show run in support of the ‘Karma Kastles’ and ‘Shady AF’ singles. They most recently played The Endless Night Vampire Ball in New Orleans, October 29, 2022 to a sold out crowd.

Donner’s DPB 510 electric bass is highly recommended by Berklee Professors and ideal for players of all levels

The beautifully-appointed, great-sounding four-string comes bundled with a gig bag, cable and strap, all for an incredibly affordable price

If you’re looking to get started on bass guitar with a pro-level package that puts everything you need right at your fingertips – and at an affordable price, to boot – look no further than the Donner DPB-510 electric bass bundle, which comes practice- and- gig-ready with a high-quality gig bag, guitar cable and strap.

As for the DPB-510 itself, this is a high-quality, lightweight and beautifully appointed instrument, boasting a poplar body, comfortable AAA Canadian maple neck with a “Modern C”-shaped profile and topped with a AAA purpleheart fingerboard with 21 copper-nickel alloy frets.

You also get open-gear tuning machines for sturdy tuning stability and a through-body fixed bridge-“4-SADDLE BRIDGE,” with each string able to be independently adjusted in height and intonation, and features slotted saddles for enhanced tuning stability and punchy attack.

Electronics-wise, the DPB-510 offers plenty of punch, clarity and versatility, courtesy of a pickup specially adapted for bass that ensures a clean and warm low frequency and a wider range of sound dynamics. The single volume and tone knobs are easily adjustable, allowing you to quickly dial in your exact desired sound.

“I’m not a bass player, but it seems easy to play,” said Claudio Ragazzi, Grammy Award recording artist and educator. “It plays in tune, has a good sound and looks good.”

Added Oscar Stagnaro, Grammy & Latin Grammy award winning artist and educator, “The 4 string PB is super easy to play. Very comfortable neck. I did adjust the front pickup closer to the E string to obtain more bass. It will be great to have a Jazz Bass version and also 5 strings option. Sound is good, simple to add more treble or bass with the tune knob. It is a great bass for a beginner student. It is also super light. With the EQ from the amp there are lots of possibilities for sounds. Also the string spacing is super easy to adapt. ”

To pick up the Donner DPB-510 for yourself, we recommend you head over to Amazon now.

Founded in 1982, AGNOSTIC FRONT stands among the most esteemed pioneers of the hardcore genre. No band comes close in sonic and socio authenticity and sincerity where the struggles of survival on the streets have quite literally given life to a sound that remains as impactful today as it was over four decades ago. AGNOSTIC FRONT’s battering, socially critical sounds serve as the foundation of true New York Hardcore and helped initiate the emergence of crossover thrash. The group disbanded briefly in the early ‘90s but returned in 1998 with the crushing sounds of Something’s Gotta Give. Following a slew of pummeling offerings, the band, led by the inimitable roar of Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma’s legendary charismatic guitar playing, released their critically lauded twelfth album Get Loud! in 2019, which, with its unapologetically honest lyrics and signature aggression, makes clear the band’s penchant to persevere.

Order AGNOSTIC FRONT’s Get Loud! and more from the Atomic Fire Records webshop HERE.

In addition to announcing their upcoming headline tour, QUEENSRŸCHE have released a new music video for the track “Sicdeth” off Digital Noise Alliance. Speaking about the song and video, Todd La Torre shares:

“‘Sicdeth’ is an abstract tale about convicted killers and the fallout of those attached on both sides. How can the victims’ and the assailants’ families overcome such pain? The inmate now has only their mind with which to escape. The song lyrics discretely touch on the very polarizing convicted murderer Jody Arias. The video however was more tailored to the Aileen Wuornos case.”

With a career that not only spans, but has charted the course of multiple genres, QUEENSRŸCHE remains a force in their own right. ‘Digital Noise Alliance’, QUEENSRŸCHE’s 16th studio album continues their ever-evolving legacy.

Once again teaming up with producer Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed), ‘Digital Noise Alliance’ not only refracts QUEENSRŸCHE’s past accomplishments but also pushes into the band’s future. It is the band effortlessly moving from strength to strength: immediate and thought-provoking.

The music video was directed by longtime collaborator J.T. Arbogast and follows a young duo who find an abandoned recording studio. Songs like “On Your Instagram,” “Magical Vagina” and “One Pump Chump” are sure to fit in on the biggest live stages next to the band’s most-memorable songs. “1987” is an incredible retro look at that unforgettable year and the band even slows things down on the reflective “Ain’t Dead Yet.” A music video for “Never Too Late (To Get Some Pu**y Tonight) was previously released and can be seen here.

As Steel Panther has ventured into the musical instrument space with the successful release of three guitar pedals: the legendary Pu**y Melter, Poontang Boomerang and Butthole Burner; the band is back with another must-have piece of gear – the 1987 pedal. The pedal is a combination distortion and delay pedal that can give any guitarist the signature sound of that classic year. The pedal will retail for $198.70 (see what we did there?) and as only Steel Panther can describe: “With the grit of 100 chainsaws and the ability to repeat itself more than that super stoned dude from Chemistry Class, it is truly the ultimate badass accessory…next to eyeliner.” The 1987 pedal is available for order here: https://steelpantherrocks.com/collections/on-the-prowl.

[Photo Credit: Tim Hubbard]“Propelled by the inhuman vocals of John Tardy, the obscenely brutal guitar tone of Trevor Peres and rhythmic brilliance of drummer Donald Tardy, Obituary redefined heaviness throughout the 1990s. From undisputed classics ‘Slowly We Rot’ and ‘Cause of Death’, through an unexpected hiatus to their current creative renaissance, Obituary have pioneered, defined and expanded extreme metal, becoming one of the underground’s most recognized and respected acts.” – Decibel Magazine

Legendary Florida Death Metal icons OBITUARY return with their highly anticipated new album, ‘Dying of Everything’, out January 13 on LP/CD/CS/Digital via Relapse Records!

Today, OBITUARY share the official audio for the album title-track “Dying of Everything”!

Listen in full on YouTube HERE and on all streaming services HERE.

OBITUARY comment:

“We picked the title track for the second single to give fans a taste of something a bit different than that typical Obituary style and we are excited to showcase Ken’s writing ability when he and Donald put their heads together and feel it just adds some extra flavor & spice to ‘Dying of Everything’ and can’t wait for the fans to hear it!!”

Additionally, OBITUARY continue the North America Great Heathen Tour with Amon Amarth, Carcass & Cattle Decapitation tonight in New York!

OBITUARY kick off 2023 with their Winter Europe tour in January/February with Trivium & Heaven Shall Burn. A full list of tour dates is available below.

‘Dying Of Everything’ destroys in the time-honored tradition of early OBITUARY classics “Slowly We Rot” and “Cause of Death” while maintaining the killer studio sound that the band has been perfecting in their own studio since 2007’s monstrous ‘Xecutioner’s Return’.

Watch “The Wrong Time” music video (directed by Odd Life Studios) on YouTube HERE.

‘DYING OF EVERYTHING’ Track List:

1. Barely Alive
2.The Wrong Time
3.Without a Conscience
4.War
5.Dying of Everything
6.My Will To Live
7.By the Dawn
8.Weaponize the Hate
9.Torn Apart
10.Be Warned

Like just about every album in OBITUARY’s vast catalog, ‘Dying Of Everything’ is instantly memorable; it’s a skill that OBITUARY have only improved upon over the years.

It’s unusual for a band that’s been around since the ’80s to be doing some of their best work in the 2020s, but that’s exactly what OBITUARY have accomplished through their do-it-yourself attitude and relentless touring on a worldwide level. “I think it comes down to passion,” vocalist John Tardy offers. “I say this all the time, but if something’s not fun, I’m not gonna do it. And we’re having more fun than ever.”

DONNER SUPPORTS MUSIC EDUCATION WITH SPECIAL CONCERT & SYMPOSIUM AT BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC

Held right off campus, the concert and symposium on Musicianship & Technology featured several Berklee professors sharing their thoughts on the balance between musicianship and music technology

Berklee faculty members sharing their thoughts on the balance between musicianship and music technology

Donner, leading manufacturer of innovative and feature-rich musical instruments, hosted an afternoon-long event in Boston on Nov. 17 that featured a concert and symposium on Musicianship & Technology with professors from Berklee College of Music.

The free, pop-up event started with a concert/jam session before heading into a symposium on Musicianship & Technology, featuring several faculty teachers of Berklee College of Music, including drummer Mark Walker, bassist Oscar Stagnaro, pianist Nando Michelin, multi-instrumentalist Yuki Kanesaka, producer John Escobar and guitarist Claudio Ragazzi.

Followed by the symposium, Nevin Domer, Donner Branding Representative and founder of Genjing Records’ also gave a presentation about why Donner had chosen to partner with these distinguished educators from previous online courses to this symposium in Berklee College of Music.

“It was inspiring to see the Berklee students playing our instruments on stage, trading licks with their professors, and hearing their questions during the Q&A. It’s a long road to mastering an instrument, and musical study is a lifelong journey ,” Domer said “Several students approached me after the event to say thanks for the prizes they had won and the event itself. I’m proud Donner can support the education industry and believe our partnership with these top educators from Berklee will contribute to the next generation of musical talent and inspire us to discover innovative methods for teaching music, lower the barriers to entry, and provide students with new ways to approach the learning process. ”

Faculties discussed a range of topics, including how they found their love of music, how they incorporate technology into their music creation and the role artificial intelligence could potentially play in music of the future.

“I oftentimes tell my students that we’re using technology for arts creation, and not for technologies sake,” said Mark Walker, Grammy Award–winning drummer, percussionist during the symposium. “[Technology is] always in service of how can I actually make music with this versus learning the button or the fader.”

The event concluded with a free raffle where attendees could win one of Donner’s latest products, including the DTC-100 electric guitar, DPB-510S bass, DJP-1000 Semi Hollow Jazz Guitar, Starry Series Midi Keyboard and Pad Controller, as well as the brand-new Arena2000 pedal, an affordably priced, high-quality multi-fx processor.

Through its products, which feature several innovative technological advancements, Donner helps musicians develop their own unique musicianship and aids them in the creative process. Partnering with Berklee professors for this event is just one way that Donner is working to support music education. The company plans to host similar events and make music more accessible to music lovers by continuous exploration in technology in the future. METALLICA “72 SEASONS” NEW ALBUM OUT APRIL 14, 2023

NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “LUX ÆTERNA” OUT NOW
M72 WORLD TOUR 2023-2024
PRE-SALES BEGIN 9am LOCAL TIME NOVEMBER 30th

Metallica has confirmed the title and release date of its forthcoming 12th studio album: 72 Seasons will be available April 14, 2023 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with Hetfield & Ulrich, and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track 72 Seasons is Metallica’s first full length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. The album will be released in formats including 2LP 140g black vinyl and limited edition variants, CD and digital—for a full listing of configurations, pre-orders and further information, go to metallica.com/72-seasons-info.

72 Seasons is heralded by first single “Lux Æterna,” a short, sharp blast that distills 40 years of Metallica into three and a half minutes. “Lux Æterna” is available now to stream and download, and as an instant grat track with all pre-orders of 72 Seasons. To watch the “Lux Æterna” video, directed by Tim Saccenti, go here.

Speaking on the concept of the album title, James Hetfield said: “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”

The complete track listing for 72 Seasons is:

72 Seasons
Shadows Follow
Screaming Suicide
Sleepwalk My Life Away
You Must Burn!
Lux Æterna
Crown of Barbed Wire
Chasing Light
If Darkness Had a Son
Too Far Gone?
Room of Mirrors
Inamorata

Today also marks the announcement of every Metallica show booked through 2023 and 2024: Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey (in North America only) and promoted by Live Nation, Metallica’s M72 world tour will see the band playing two nights in every city it visits—with each No Repeat Weekend featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. The M72 tour will feature a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage, as well as the I Disappear full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age. Two-day tickets will be on sale Friday, December 2nd at ticketmaster.com and will include the option of pre-ordering 72 Seasons vinyl and/or CD. Single day tickets will be available beginning January 20th. For further information including fan club presales, enhanced experiences and more, go to metallica.com/m72-info.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Founded in 2017, AWMH’s efforts to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band have raised nearly $13 million – providing $5.9 million in grants to career and technical education programs in the US, over $2.5 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.2 million to disaster relief efforts worldwide.

Citi is the official card of the M72 Tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets in the U.S. beginning Wednesday, November 30th at 2:00 pm local time until Thursday, December 1st at 10:00 pm local time through the Citi Entertainment program. MESA/Boogie Unveils New Badlander 25 Head & 1×12 Combo

Available Now on www.mesaboogie.com

From humble beginnings to worldwide recognition, MESA/Boogie® has remained the original boutique Home of Tone, hand-crafting amplifiers of uncompromising quality from the world’s finest materials in California, USA. Founder Randall Smith instilled basic principles into MESA such as passion, drive, integrity, and excellence, and his insistence on making the best amplifiers has guided half a century of breakthrough innovations, elevating the amplifier into an instrument in its own right–one with the power to shape and create musical genres. MESA/Boogie is proud to announce that its new Badlander 25 Head & 1×12 Combo amplifiers are available now at authorized MESA/Boogie dealers and on www.mesaboogie.com.

The Rectifier® Badlander™ 25 represents decades of research and refinement and is the latest in a long line of iconic Rectifier products that carry the tradition of high performance, high gain forward with tight low end, an aggressive midrange character, and enhanced harmonic content. This tonal updating is accomplished by mating Badlander preamp circuits to a switchable 25 to 10 Watt EL84 loaded power section based on MESA’s patented Dyna-Watt™ power. This dynamo delivers its own blend of Badlander tone with aggressive attack and percussive midrange while tucking up the low end in a definitive way that is addictive in both sound and feel. And best of all, this Badlander provides stunning performance in a package that is lightweight, compact and more clip-able than its higher power siblings, for times when power section character and/or overdrive is the call. While cut from much the same cloth as its forbearer, the original Dual Rectifier Solo Head from the early 90s, this model stakes new ground and pays homage to rock and heavy sounds in its own new distinctive and more percussive way.

Explore and shop the Badlanders on www.mesaboogie.com and at all authorized MESA/Boogie dealers.

Badlander 25 Head:
MESA/Boogie’s Badlander Series of amplifiers draw inspiration from MESA’s legendary Dual Rectifiers, paying homage to rock and heavy sounds in their own distinctive and percussive way, with a focus on today’s musical genres. Its tight low end, refined top end, and defined mids combine with MESA gain for huge tones that will appeal to rock leaning guitarists who like a bit of Brit influence with their American-voiced gain. The Badlander 25 Head uses the same straightforward channel format as its 50 and 100 Watt siblings, with 2 identical, footswitchable channels each containing Clean, Crunch, and Crush modes that feed an EL84 power section to deliver an unprecedented fierceness and harmonic complexity. The Badlander 25 Head combines these ingredients in a small package and power range that adds a raw character all its own, offering the essential voice, performance, and features of the Badlander 100 and 50 in a fiery-sounding, ultra-portable low-power format that’ll gratify those not seeking big horsepower.

Badlander 25s employ a pair of EL84 power tubes operating in MESA’s proprietary Dyna-Watt™ Class A/B Pentode for maximum power, punch, and clarity, producing 25 Watts or switched to its 10 Watt Class A/B Triode setting for lush harmonics and a sweet, liquid feel at lower volumes.

The Badlander 25 Head packs a built in CabClone IR Direct Interface making recording and cab-less live capture consistent and easy. Players can choose from a preloaded collection of eight Rectifier Closed-Back and Boogie Open-Back Cabinets IRs from MESA’s standalone CabClone IR for a wide array of sounds and responses.

A Tube-Driven, Series Effects Loop acts as a circuit bridge, permitting players to patch their favorite outboard effects between the preamp’s end to just before the Driver tube feeding the power section.

For guitarists seeking the tone and feel of an all-tube amplifier with huge sounding gain that is voiced to handle the demands of today’s musical genres, the Badlander 25 Head delivers from a package that fits in an overnight bag.

Badlander 25 1X25 COMBO

A UK-made Celestion Creamback 65 Watt speaker is MESA’s driver of choice for this 1×12 Combo amp. G12M-65 Creamback is ideally suited for the Badlander 25 as its power handling permits added low-end grunt complementing the warm and vocal mids, crunchy upper-mids and sweet, refined highs.

Our score 4.5 out of 5 stars

Since 2012 Donner Music has been making affordable, quality instruments for all level of musicians. New from the company is the Donner Arena 2000 Multi-Effects Pedal. Sporting a simple user interface and an impressive array of features including 80 Amp models, 50 Cabinet models and over 270 effects including a built-in drum machine and looping capabilities the Arena 2000 is a robust all in one unit capable of high-level performance from the bedroom to the stage and all places in between.

Construction-
Donner’s Arena 2000 sports three lighted multi-switches, one expression pedal design which is housed in a sleek heavy-duty frame complete with a 3.5-inch TFT color screen and adorned with only the bare minimum of knobs allowing for easy navigation among features and settings. The back of the unit includes a variety of connectivity options including both XLR and quarter inch outputs along with Midi In, ground lift, an expansion input for addition controllers, aux, and headphone inputs and to top it all off a Type-C USB port which supports simultaneous dry and wet recording signals. The power supply also plugs in to this area of the pedal. One would think a pedal of this size would require a bulky power supply however the Arena 2000 runs off a standard 9v 500ma power supply. This feature is really helpful especially if you are looking to add this to a powered pedal board as the need for additional supplies is not necessary.

Sound-
Over the years I have tried products from all the major makers of multi-effects processors and the consensus tended to be the same for all of them. A few good tones packed between a bunch of others that were just too over the top to even use. Though not every effect is a hit with the Arena 2000 I found myself enjoying a good majority of what the pedal had to offer. From rich choruses and springy reverbs to sprawling spacey delays, crunchy overdrives and wailing wah’s all the standards and then some are included and can be dialed in with one of the seven control knobs located the unit or via the downloadable wireless control App which allows for even deeper customization. Amplifier models run the gambit of Fender like cleans to Mesa-esque distortion and when paired with one of the 50 different cabinet IR models’ tonal options are nearly endless thanks to another slew of customizable features. Once you have settled on a sound you can pair it up and jam along to one of the 40 drum patterns also included. What I really liked here is that these drum patterns were not just a bunch a pre-programmed kicks and snares. Yes, those are present however thanks to the varying intensity of the patterns within each pre-set genre and the addition of controllable BPM players are only limited by their imagination. Those wanting to take their jamming experience even further can incorporate the 60 second looper feature to create a layered backdrop to play over all with the press of one of the designated multi switches.

Playability-
The multi-effects pedal’s small footprint and standard power requirements make for an easy integration to any pedal board or as a stand-alone unit. Though the smaller expression pedal does take some getting used and is quite stiff I was used to the feel after just a few sessions. The basic user interface posed only a slight learning curve and after a few minutes I was able to put away the sparse manual which only provided the basics of operation and connection. The TFT screen works well in all conditions and is just big enough to be able to read when standing and looking down. I did find myself attempting to use the screen as a touch pad as that seems to be the norm nowadays and that may have been a nice feature to include here however it wasn’t a deal breaker by any means as the basic single control knob was much more user friendly than other more robust layouts.

The Arena 2000 is a sleek all in one unit that is great for any musician on the go. From the bedroom to the stage this multi-effects unit will not let you down. Whether it’s the expansive tone and effects banks or the additional drum machine and looper the Arena 2000 is a user-friendly unit which looks just as good as it sounds and with a price tag of under $300 you will be hard pressed to find a better pedal on the market with this type of value! For more info on the Arena 2000 Multi-Effects Pedal or to pick up one for that special someone this Holiday season head over to Donner’s Amazon store here.

Fake Names Announce New Album ‘Expendables,’ Share New Single “Delete Myself”

FAKE NAMES
ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM
‘EXPENDABLES’
OUT ON MARCH 3 VIA EPITAPH RECORDS
LISTEN TO LEAD SINGLE “DELETE MYSELF”
ON TOUR IN APRIL 2023

Today, post-hardcore dream team – Fake Names – announce their second studio album, ‘Expendables’ for release on March 3rd, 2023 via Epitaph Records. The band is comprised of members Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Dag Nasty), Michael Hampton (S.O.A., Embrace), Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, INVSN, The [International] Noise Conspiracy), Johnny Temple (Girls Against Boys, Soulside) and newest addition Brendan Canty (Fugazi, Rites of Spring). It’s the latest exchange in a musical conversation that spans four decades, but instead of rehashing the past, ‘Expendables’ is a reinvention that sees the band dialing back the distortion and leaning into the melodies.

Today they share lead single “Delete Myself,” a high energy craft cocktail comprised of Punk and Garage, finished with unforgettable riffs.

LISTEN TO “DELETE MYSELF” NOW

Forming in 2016, Brian Baker describes Fake Names as a “mutual admiration society,” saying that once the five members got in the same room together, it felt as if they had already been in the band together for years. “There’s this intangible energy, a clairvoyance that comes from our shared experience,” he explains. On ‘Expendables,’ the result pairs their unparalleled pedigree with a pop sensibility that’s slightly unexpected and wholly satisfying.

Melding 70’s U.K. punk with power-pop and classic rock, the Fake Names’ self-titled debut album (2020) was actually a demo that Epitaph founder and Baker’s Bad Religion bandmate, Brett Gurewitz, wanted to release as is. After releasing a three-track EP in 2021, the band enlisted producer Adam “Atom” Greenspan (IDLES, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) who helmed a surprisingly cleaner sound for Expendables. Baker says, “The pop influences are a little more out front on this one and the production really helps it shine. It sounds more direct, more urgent.”

There’s also an economy to these songs that’s rooted in the fact that they were recorded in the span of a week, eliminating the option to add excess instrumentation or arrangements. What ensues is an album that retains the members’ purity of vision in a strikingly refreshing way.

Speaking to lyrical themes, Baker discloses, “In general, Dennis writes about revolution, and Michael and I write pop songs. I’m amazed at how it works, but somehow it strikes the right balance of salty and sweet.” This imagery is paralleled in the album artwork which Baker describes as “70’s dystopian” and features an eerie army of mannequins set against a cold urban backdrop. That dichotomy of lively music and bleak imagery is an important thematic element of Expendables because the album is more than just a collection of catchy songs: it’s an artistic statement about our own impermanence.

Fake Names will be on tour next Spring 2023, starting off on April 13th in Asbury Park, and ending April 23rd in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 18 @ 10am local time.

The spectacular show will thrill audiences with stellar performances of more than 20 combined chart-topping songs. Tickets go on sale on November 18, 2022 at LiveNation.com. The full routing can be found below.

FOREIGNER will continue its long-term initiative with the GRAMMY Museum Foundation to invite choirs to open the show with a live a cappella ‘Pitch Perfect’ performance of Classic Rock songs. FOREIGNER will join radio partners across the country to create a contest for local choirs to win donations to their music programs. One winning choir will be selected at each show, and that choir will receive a grand prize of new musical equipment. For more details please go to foreignerchoirs.com.

Leader and founder of FOREIGNER, Mick Jones said, “Many years ago, I wrote a song called ‘Feels Like The First Time’ and today we are launching one last worldwide tour. We will be presenting a show that I know will have the same enthusiasm as our very first appearances. The tour will start this summer in America and we hope to get to every place that we have played over the last several years. While I’m sure our fans will have mixed feelings about the end of the road for the band, I know our shows are going to delight audiences everywhere.”

Says FOREIGNER lead singer Kelly Hansen, “The time has come. We have more or less lived our lives on the road for almost eighteen years. We have always strived to give you our best and we intend to finish this the same way. Foreigner has a brilliant and increasingly demanding catalogue of songs to sing and I refuse to give them less than they deserve. So, we’re going to finish strong. I want to make it very clear how grateful and appreciative we are to our audiences all over the world who have supported this band. I’m sure there may be occasions when we’ll do some special appearances, but I think the time is coming for us to live off the road. Thank you all so much!”

“I remember how cool the last time we toured with Foreigner was in 1982. We played to massive stadiums – New Orleans, Kansas City, Day On the Green in Oakland, JFK in Philly – and we’re back together again, 41 years later. It’s going to be the Tour of Summer ’23!” said Paul Dean of Loverboy.

“It’s not very often you get a chance to play on the same stage as one of your all-time favorite bands…and how many hit songs can you play on the same stage every night of a 2023 Summer tour?….. it’s going to be amazing…. I can’t wait.” Said Mike Reno of Loverboy.

Mick Jones continues to elevate FOREIGNER’s influence and guide the band to new horizons with his stylistic songwriting, indelible guitar hooks and multi-layered talents while lead singer Kelly Hansen, one of rock’s greatest showmen, has led FOREIGNER into the digital age inspiring a whole new generation of fans. Bassist Jeff Pilson; Michael Bluestein on keyboards; guitarist Bruce Watson; Chris Frazier on drums and guitarist Luis Maldonado provide an unprecedented level of energy that has resulted in the re-emergence of the astounding music that speaks to FOREIGNER‘s enduring popularity. FOREIGNER has an extraordinary streaming and radio audience. Click here for an overview of Classic Rock artists’ stats.

With more Top 10 hits than Journey and ten multi-platinum albums, FOREIGNER is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 80 million. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way From Home” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is,” FOREIGNER still rocks the charts more than 40 years into the game with massive airplay and continued Billboard Top 200 album success. Streams of FOREIGNER’s hits are approaching 15 million per week.

With their trademark red leather pants, bandanas, big rock sound and high-energy live shows, LOVERBOY has sold more than 10 million albums, earning four multi-platinum plaques, including the four-million-selling “Get Lucky,” and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983’s “Keep It Up” and 1985’s “Lovin’ Every Minute of It.” Their string of hits includes, in addition to the anthem “Working for the Weekend,” such arena rock staples as “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “The Kid is Hot Tonite,” “Notorious”, “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over,” “Heaven In Your Eyes” and “Queen of the Broken Hearts.” The group still features the original line-up of vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, drummer Matt Frenette and keyboardist Doug Johnson with bassist Ken “Spider” Sinnaeve replacing the late Scott Smith.
