LAMB OF GOD RETURN WITH “SEPSIS”

LAMB OF GOD RETURN WITH “SEPSIS”

FIRST NEW ORIGINAL SONG FROM THE METAL TITANS
SINCE 2022’S OMENS

Lamb of God return with “Sepsis” (https://Lamb-of-God.lnk.to/Sepsis), a visceral, menacing new single out now via Epic Records, marking the GRAMMY® Award-nominated band’s first new original music since 2022’s critically revered album, Omens.

Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the three-and-a-half minute track arrives alongside a grainy, lo-fi performance video (https://lamb-of-god.lnk.to/sepsisofficial) that offers a moody, unfiltered look at Richmond’s underbelly. Directed by Gianfranco Svagelj, the video captures the song’s slow-burning tension.

“’Sepsis’ is a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired when we were just forming Burn the Priest,” Mark Morton shares. “Bands like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger—though they never got widespread attention outside of Richmond, those were the bands we listened to all the time. The song references that stuff in a way that’s a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together.”

“Sepsis” arrives during a milestone year for Lamb of God. In 2025, the band celebrated the 25th anniversary of their discography, performed at the historic “Back to the Beginning” concert and subsequently released their thunderous take on Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave,” along with appearances at several festivals including Inkcarceration and Louder Than Life, and a headlining show at Richmond’s new 7500-seat outdoor venue, Allianz Amphitheater, during its opening season.

As the year closes, Lamb of God have several performances ahead of them, including outings at Aftershock, AMMA Championship Fest, and the band’s Headbangers Boat cruise (Oct. 31 to Nov. 4) – a four-day floating festival departing from Miami with a stop in Cozumel, Mexico. The line-up features performances from Clutch, Kublai Khan TX, Power Trip, Obituary, Devil Driver, Fear Factory, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Exploited, Crowbar, Nekrogoblikon, Eighteen Visions, Gideon, Walls of Jericho, Category 7, Brat, comics Josh Potter and Saul Trujillo, with appearances from Jose Mangin and Riki Rachtman. Tickets are available at Headbangersboat.com.

GHOST SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR 2026 DATES REVEALED

GHOST
SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR 2026 DATES REVEALED
General On Sale Begins October 3 at 10am Local Time at ghost-official.com

“GHOST are a global phenomenon — a rare feat for any rock or metal band in the last two decades” —CONSEQUENCE

“Outside the Garden before Ghost’s show — which featured a set piece in which Forge, dressed as an evil pope, seemed to levitate — a sense of devotion was palpable among fans. Showgoers streamed out of Penn Station dressed in Ghost-themed costumes, including skeletal face paint, papal robes and nun habits…” — THE NEW YORK TIMES

“If you are not prone to pearl-clutching, there is a lot of perverse pleasure in GHOST’s music” — THE NEW YORKER

“A band that’s still gaining momentum more than a decade into its career” — NPR

“The rock band is at the top of their game… The energy was palpable, and while a lot of that is due to the rabid nature of Ghost’s fanbase and the hype of seeing a rock band in Madison Square Garden, not having a phone out during every song made that giant room feel a lot more connected” — PEOPLE

“GHOST are killing it” — STEREOGUM

“They continue to do their brand of occult rock better than anyone else, and certainly on such an impressive mainstream level” — VICE

“GHOST’s rise to the top ranks of global music, and its popularity among Gen Z listeners, is a testament to how the once-ironclad boundaries of musical genres are eroding in the age of streaming” — THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

GHOST has confirmed that its SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR will continue to pack arenas in the new year, with today’s announcement of 20 new North American rituals kicking off January 21st at the Kia Center in Orlando, FL and running through February 23rd at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

Tickets for U.S. dates will first be available via Citi and Verizon pre-sales (details below). The artist presale will begin on Tuesday, September 30th at 10am local time. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale starting Friday, October 3rd at 10am local time at ghost-official.com.

The SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR has featured the live debut of songs from SKELETÁ, GHOST’s sixth psalm and first to reach #1 on the Billboard 200. Released April 25th via Loma Vista Recordings, SKELETÁ’s #1 debut marked the first time a hard rock album topped the US album chart since 2020 — and also saw #1 debuts in the GRAMMY-winning theatrical rock outfit’s native Sweden as well as Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and Finland. The coming of SKELETÁ was heralded by three singles/videos that trended Top 10 on YouTube, as GHOST garnered #1 spots on TikTok’s #NewMusic, iTunes and Amazon’s Best Sellers. First up was “Satanized”—dubbed a “catchy goth-rock epic” by VICE, followed by the “Lachryma”—a fixture on Spotify’s Viral Charts, both globally and in key territories like the US, UK, Germany, and more deemed “economical, vicious, and contemporary, but tinged by ‘80s rhapsody” by PASTE and “phantasmagoric” by REVOLVER, and “Peacefield,” the monolithic anthem opening both the new record and GHOST’s massive 2025 live rituals.

Having sold half a million tickets and counting, the SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR continues a North American swing that included GHOST’s historic first-ever sold-out headlining show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on July 22nd. With GHOST and its melodramatic and surreal ritual experience in higher demand than ever, the SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR 2026 will further expand the GRAMMY-winning Swedish theatrical rock icons’ community to attract their largest and most diverse audiences to date. From lifelong disciples to the curious uninitiated first-timers to the outcasts and others who find solace in it, all are welcome to escape the travails of daily life and to become one with the enthralling GHOST ritual.

Continuing a tradition that “demonstrated just how simple, and wonderful, a screenless concert can be” (BOSTON GLOBE), SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR 2026 will be a phone-free experience. Phones will be secured in Yondr pouches. Guests maintain possession of their phones at all times.

GHOST also recently unveiled an enthralling new limited edition version of the chart-topping SKELETÁ, available at Target. This unholy relic is pressed on special Violet Mist vinyl, and housed in a silver-foiled SKELETÁ box that includes an exclusive GHOST T-shirt design, and features a collectible Papa V overlay. Pre-Order now or pick a copy up starting on Halloween.

Concert Review: Slayer @ Hershey Stadium, 9/20/25

HERSHEY, PA – September 20, 2025

When the Slayer flag rose, you could feel the energy shift in the crowd. Fans of all ages shuffled side to side, trying to capture an unobstructed photo of the iconic logo. As the lights cut out, a short video began to play showing highlights from Slayer’s early years. Vintage images of the founding members appeared as they spoke about the band’s origins. Multiple clips of Kerry King, Tom Araya and the late Jeff Hanneman played as they reflected on how Slayer began and what the band meant to them. Additional clips of Gary Holt and Paul Bostaph, the current guitarist and drummer, explained Slayer’s influence on the thrash genre and how they became members of the band.

The lights went dark, before Delusions of Saviour could be heard from the speakers as the stage was set for the band.

As the song faded, the crowd grew quiet with anticipation. Slayer took the stage as the opening of South of Heaven. Those iconic lyrics every Slayer fan knows echoing through the arena to start the night belted out of the crowd as the lights went bright. “Before you see the light you must die” The band wasted no time after showing what they were there to do – play fast and hard. No time was wasted as they trashed through the tracks Repentless, Disciple, Die by the Sword, and Jihad before Tom took a minute to check in with the crowd.

The crowd would need for the consistent onslaught of fast paced head banging brought by the songs War Ensemble, Chemical Warfare, and Reborn. For me, one of Bostaph’s best moments can be heard through the complex transitions in Chemical Warfare. The pace shifted after Reborn to the slower chugs of Mandatory Suicide. Born of Fire followed which lit up the stage with an amazing pyrotechnic display.

After that, Araya took a moment to respond to a fan yelling out their love for the band. He smiled and reminded everyone that the band loved their fans and were just as grateful to be there and have the amount of support that has shown for them. He then dedicated the next song to his wife of 30 years, one of Slayer’s love songs, Dead Skin Mask. The song was accompanied by disturbing visuals behind Holt and King as they traded riffs and solos as masters of horror sounding metal. Spirit in Black and Hate
Worldwide pushed the guitarist whammy bars to the limit before the band slowed the pace back down into melodic chugs of Seasons in the Abyss.

Turning 40 this year, Hell Awaits was performed with more ferocity than its studio version I believe. As Araya proved he could still scream with the demonic speed that built Slayer’s legacy. While Gary Holt rips heralding solo’s, at one point one handed, as flames erupt behind him. 213 from the album Divine Intervention followed, before taking fans back to the 1980s with Slayer’s classic thrash sound with Postmortem.

The venue fell silent again as inverted crosses started to burn. Bostaph produced the thunderous bass and rolls while Holt and King unleashed piercing guitar cries before the legendary riff echoed between them for Reign in Blood.  Flames burst from the set as the crowd chanted the infamous lyrics along with the band. King transitioned everyone seamlessly into Black Magic. A song I believe he played better than the original studio version. You could hear the years of experience he has gained playing that song. Slayer
closed the night with one of their most scrutinized yet defining songs, Angel of Death.  The production team also deserves credit for elevating the show. Pyrotechnics during songs like Jihad, War Ensemble, Born of Fire, and Hell Awaits were flawless. Slayer demands fire, and they delivered plenty. The visuals of gore, war, and some of the iconic Slayer artwork were blended perfectly. Dead Skin Mask and Mandatory Suicide standing out among the rest. The audio team kept the sound crisp and balanced, while the lighting crew matched every moment with flawless timing and color synchronization.  After a 20-song set, I believe Araya’s smile says it all. Slayer’s return to touring is fueled by their genuine love for playing for their fans. Add in the fact that they still sound incredible while delivering a visually stunning show, and it was truly an unforgettable experience.

I remember being 15, listening to my first Slayer CD Decade of Aggression and telling myself this was a band I needed to see live. After 20 years, multiple worn-out Slayer shirts, and endless anticipation, I finally saw why Slayer is more than just a band for so many people. It was music to filter the hate through. A different road to take. It was F****** SLAYER!

DESCENDENTS CELEBRATE 40 YEARS OF I DON’T WANT TO GROW UP WITH DEFINITIVE REISSUE NOVEMBER 21

DESCENDENTS CELEBRATE
40 YEARS OF
I DON’T WANT TO GROW UP WITH DEFINITIVE REISSUE OUT NOVEMBER 21

Org Music continues its acclaimed reissue campaign with the band’s second album, featuring multiple formats, exclusive color variants, and a special “Punk Note” edition with artwork by John Yates inspired by Blue Note jazz classics.

Pre-Order Here

“…featured the most singable tunes the band had ever written. ‘Good Good Things’, ‘In Love This Way’, and ‘Can’t Go Back’ were positively sunny by Descendents standards; the Beach Boys-gone-punk vibe was an obvious precursor to Weezer.”– Jenny Eliscu

“When the four want to be straight up and perfectly poppy, they can and do with smashing success, with surprisingly mature, emotional lyrics and playing that doesn’t rely on all-speed all the time.“-All Music

Org Music is proud to announce the reissue of I Don’t Want To Grow Up, the landmark second album from legendary punk pioneers Descendents, arriving November 21, 2025. The reissue will be available across formats—LP, CD, and cassette—alongside a special Punk Note LP edition featuring alternate packaging.

This release marks the second installment in Org Music’s ongoing reissue campaign with Descendents, who recently reclaimed ownership of their master recordings. Following the acclaimed reissue of Milo Goes To College, this new edition brings fresh attention to one of the band’s most beloved albums—arriving just in time for its 40th anniversary.

Originally released in 1985 on New Alliance Records, the label founded by Minutemen’s D. Boon and Mike Watt, I Don’t Want To Grow Up was recorded after vocalist Milo Aukerman returned from college. It also marked the first of two albums to feature guitarist Ray Cooper. With brighter melodies and sharper hooks than its predecessor, the record helped the band avoid the dreaded sophomore slump while cementing their status as one of punk’s most influential voices.

Among the many formats, fans will find a standout: a limited Punk Note edition designed by John Yates (Stealworks). Inspired by the iconic Blue Note jazz label artwork of Reid Miles and Francis Wolff, these reimagined covers bring a bold, visual reinterpretation of punk history. The Punk Note series began with Org Music’s celebrated Bad Brains reissues, and continues here with deluxe case-wrapped jackets and new liner notes by BrooklynVegan senior editor Andrew Sacher.

The reissue will be available in the following variants:

Widely Available Formats:

Black LP
“Banana Peel” LP
Punk Note Edition (Black Vinyl)
CD
Cassette (Yellow)

Limited / Exclusive Variants:

Punk Note Edition (Transparent Yellow LP) — Org Music Exclusive

With I Don’t Want To Grow Up, Descendents sharpened their signature mix of melody and urgency, laying down a blueprint that countless punk bands would follow. Forty years later, the album still feels raw, relatable, and essential—now reintroduced in a definitive reissue that honors its enduring legacy.

More reissues are on deck. The campaign will continue with Enjoy!, ALL, Bonus Fat, and beyond—each release overseen by the band themselves, ensuring the music is presented exactly as they intend.

This effort isn’t just a trip down memory lane—it’s about preserving the work, honoring the intent behind it, and opening the door for a new generation to discover one of punk’s most influential catalogs.

CELEBRATING THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF BREAKTHROUGH ALBUM A HANGOVER YOU DON’T DESERVE

Last month, pop-punk legends Bowling For Soup announced a brand new live album in celebration of the triumphant 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album, A Hangover You Don’t Deserve. Recorded during their huge sold out February 2025 UK tour in Manchester, A Hangover You Definitely Deserve (Live) brings the anniversary tour to Bowling For Soup fans all across the world in its full glory. The live album includes all the between song banter that is the cornerstone of any live Bowling For Soup experience. A Hangover You Definitely Deserve (Live) will be released on October 24 via the bands’ own Brando/Que-So Records.

Frontman Jaret Reddick previously discussed the initial decision to take the 20th anniversary of “Hangover” on the road and to then make it into a live album, “I remember being terrified as the 20th anniversary of this album approached. We would have to learn all 18 songs…at least half of which we hadn’t played since recording the album. But as we started plowing away through the album, the magic came back. It was such a good time in our lives and our career making this monster! I hope that comes across on this live recording. I sure feel like it does.”

After the initial album announcement, Jaret, Gary and Rob offered up a first taste of the live “Hangover” experience, releasing the much loved A-Hole as a single. Now, the band is back again with the second track & video off the upcoming record, “Ridiculous (Live and Hungover)”.

“This one was such a journey from a vocal standpoint. I really don’t sing in that lower register a lot and I was pretty self conscious about it. Not sure why. Different is “different” I guess”, Jaret explains, and continues, “Anyhoo, on this live version, I forgot to even tell Matthew that we were recording the show to release as an album! Haha. Luckily he was cool with it…after the fact!”

About the song, Danny Schuler (drums) comments:

“’Death of Me.’ One of my favorites! To me, this song embodies the frustration, miscommunication, and intolerance that we sometimes deal with in our lives. This song is a mid-tempo banger for anyone feeling like life is a never-ending battle against everything and everyone. Never give up!!!”

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Deftones), ‘Divided We Fall’ captures BIOHAZARD at their most raw, relentless, and unifying. Recording sessions took place at Shorefire Recording Studios (Long Branch, NJ) and The Hydeaway (Van Nuys, CA), with engineering by Joseph DeMaio and additional recording from Matt Hyde. Guitar and production tech duties were handled by Phil Caivano.

Musical pioneers in every sense of the word, BIOHAZARD were one of the first bands to seamlessly blend hardcore, heavy metal, punk, and hip hop into an intoxicating genre all their own. After more than a decade away, the Brooklyn, NY band’s OG lineup reunited in 2023 to both fan fervor and critical acclaim, headlining the opening night of the legendary Milwaukee Metal Fest for their first show back. Ghost Cult Magazine said they “explosively unleashed their fury with fortitude and force” with “a superhuman set and an awe-inspiring show.”

The band followed with two sold-out hometown shows in New York City, a late-summer festival run in the UK and Europe, and a fall direct support slot with Megadeth across North America. That was just the start. They returned to Europe and the UK in 2024 for the early summer festival season – including a headlining slot at Download – and made their triumphant return to South America in spring, then returned home to blow out America’s exploding festival circuit.

Their return did more than turn heads; it caused whiplash, and they partnered with BlkIIBlk Records to record and release new music. More incendiary and relentless than ever, the trailblazers have a fresh outlook and revitalized spirit. This is more than a reunion – for Billy Graziadei (vocals/guitar), Bobby Hambel (lead guitar), Danny Schuler (drums), and Evan Seinfeld (vocals/bass), it’s a revitalization and rebirth.

Tour Celebrating 20 + 1 Year Anniversary of ‘The Curse’
Kicks Off November 4th in Mesa, AZ

ATREYU are proud to share their new single “Dead,” marking their first release in over two years. Known for their signature blend of crushing riffs, soaring melodies, and emotionally charged lyrics, ATREYU continue to push the boundaries of metalcore while staying true to the sound that has earned them a devoted global following. “Dead,” recorded by Matthew Pauling, showcases the band’s relentless energy and musical evolution, offering both longtime fans and new listeners a powerful glimpse into the next chapter of their career.

About “Dead,” ATREYU had this to say:

“‘Dead’ asked the question I feel many ask. Do I matter? Would anyone actually notice if I was gone? Not speaking in the space of depression or suicidal thought, but more in the grand scheme of life. We all want and aspire to leave some sort of lasting legacy or impression, but do we really matter? I guess we all hope so.”

X-COPS’ Casey Orr talks about their first new album in 25 years, “XCAB”

Q: It’s been nearly 25 years since “You Have The Right To Remain Silent”, which was previously the only album released from X-Cops; what makes the original Bad Boys of Law Enforcement return to the spotlight?

I’ll ask the questions around here! Oh, wait… you’re asking the questions. Ok. Yeah, so when we formed XCOPS and released YHTRTR it was a different climate. Hard Rock had been replaced by Heavy Metal, which was replaced by Glam Metal, which was replaced by Grunge, which was replaced by Nu Metal. But through it all there was one common denominator: kids on drugs with lots of money… and, of course, drugs. We finally had enough of just sitting back and doing nothing while this great nation fell prey to the temptations of Satan. We wanted our cut. So we started a band, put out a record, toured the world, and made millions of thousands of hundreds of dollars. The IRS got wind of this and defunded the shit out of us! After that there were a series “unfortunate instances” with a couple of the boys and we sort of went our separate ways for a bit. Laying low, so to speak.

So why have we returned after all this time? Why now, you ask? Because this country is falling apart! We’re witnessing the fall of Democracy and the rise of a totalitarian fascist state. The people are about to install the worst possible piece of shit this country has ever seen, as it’s first King, and that means more power for the police and military. And that means full immunity and military grade toys for us! But mostly it’s because the kids are still on drugs with lots of money… and, of course, drugs.

Q: How has the X-Cops today changed since 1995?

Spiritually and philosophically speaking, I’d say not much. We’re still out here fighting the good fight. Well, it’s pretty good for us anyway. We have had a few personnel changes, though. Our former bass player, Cobb Knobbler, was killed while working a “private contracting job” somewhere in the Middle East. Details are sketchy, and there are conflicting reports on the hows and whys. I’ve heard everything from “friendly fire” to something about being beheaded for giving head, or while giving head, I don’t know. He was a complicated man. Our new bass player is working out great! His name is Ed Banger, we met him at a Halloween party. I think he said he used to work the strip club beat or some shit.

Our original drummer, Billy Club, stopped taking steroids and joined a cult. I heard he has 18 kids and owns an appliance store now. We’ve had a hard time keeping a drummer lately, we’ve had to resort to forcing inmates to play drums for us with a gun to their head for inspiration. Unfortunately they seem to all have short lifespans. Very susceptible to “lead poisoning”, if ya catch my drift.

Q: “You Have The Right To Remain Silent” is such an amazing album, I have been spinning it for 25 years straight now – “Cavity Search” has always been my favorite! – why do you think the album still stands the test of time today with fans?

You know, once every decade or so, a record comes out that simply touches the soul of the entire world, taking on a life of its own, propelling it up the charts and into the hallowed halls of rock and roll history, and the very pinnacle of this business we call “show”. But for the rest of us it’s completely up to the fans, who, whether by force or voluntarily, still keep coming to the shows and buy the records and merch. It doesn’t hurt that the songs on that album come from a place of raw, naked realism. A mugshot in time. A real slice of American fucking pie! Plus that shit rocks, right?

Q: Out of the five new songs on the new EP, which is your favorite? and why?

I’m gonna have to say “Light ‘Em Up” because I sing it and it’s a really funny story! Like I always say – Texas throws the best BBQs!

Q: Your songs are loaded with satire and are flat out hilariously offensive tracks; are you afraid of going too far in today’s “cancel” world?

Nah, we may be XCOPS, but once a cop, always a cop! Cops get away with anything they want and everyone knows it. Ain’t nothing new. Besides, this is about to become a police state and you’ll never be able to cancel “law enforcement” ever again!

Q: You are touring with GWAR all Summer long; what has been the highlight so far? Any crazy road stories from this run?

Man, those cats are weird. It’s nothing but sex, drugs, and Buck Owens in their dressing room. It’s exactly the same in our dressing room, but smaller. They’re obsessed with Dolphin Rape Caves. I had to Google it. Sick shit. The bass player is cool as shit, though!

Q: I know that XCAB is being released on Vinyl format; what can we do to get “You Have The Right To Remain Silent” released on vinyl as well?

It was re reissued on vinyl through Brutal Planet Records last year and there are plans for GWAR’s label, Pit Records to re issue it real soon.

Q: Is this the beginning of more to come for the X-Cops? What else can we expect?

I’d like to think this is the beginning of the middle of a 4 part trilogy. If you’re lucky, Trump won’t win in November and XCOPS will just keep on rocking. Do some touring, make some records, ya know? If he is elected, however, we’ll most likely be pressed back into service to beat down protesters and journalists and free thinkers.

GRAMMY®

Award-nominated songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Wolfgang Van Halen is back with the third track from his upcoming studio album, The End. “I Really Wanna” comes on the heels of Active Rock #1 single “The End” and the newly released single, “The Spell.” The instant grat track “I Really Wanna” is a funky rocker that showcases Wolfgang’s unique feel and technique on every instrument. A music video for the song is also being released that shows Wolfgang playing in the iconic 5150 studio where the song was recorded. The song was produced by friend and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette. The song is available via all digital streaming platforms and can be found here.

Scheduled for release on October 24th, Mammoth returns with The End via label home BMG. The 10-track album clocks in at 39-minuttes and showcases the evolution of Wolf and his songwriting since he launched his solo career in 2020. Continuing the tradition of writing all the songs and performing all the instrumentation and vocals himself, Wolfgang Van Halen set out to challenge himself beyond what he did on his debut and sophomore release, Mammoth II. From the hypnotic opening of “One Of A Kind” to infectious closer “All In Good Time,” Wolfgang demonstrates his proficiency as a musician and songwriter. Songs like “Same Old Song,” “Happy,” and “Selfish” will fit perfectly alongside older songs that fans have already come to love from Mammoth. Mammoth released their first single in May, and it shot up the charts landing at #1. That single featured a landmark music video – a remake of the classic film From Dusk ‘Til Dawn – directed by Robert Rodriguez and Greg Nicotero. The video has received over 5-million views and contains cameos from Danny Trejo, Slash, Myles Kennedy, and of course his mother Valerie Bertinelli. Mammoth also released the new single “The Spell” which is currently impacting radio. The End is available for pre-order in multiple configurations including limited edition vinyl colors, signed insert version and retailer exclusives here: https://Mammoth.lnk.to/TheEndAlbum.

MOTÖRHEAD PROUDLY ANNOUNCE “KILLED BY DEAF – A PUNK TRIBUTE TO MOTÖRHEAD” (OCT. 31, BMG RECORDINGS)

MOTÖRHEAD PROUDLY ANNOUNCE KILLED BY DEAF – A PUNK TRIBUTE TO MOTÖRHEAD AVAILABLE ON OCTOBER 31 VIA BMG RECORDINGS

FOURTEEN OF THE FINEST PUNK BANDS ON THE PLANET COVERING THEIR FAVORITE MOTÖRHEAD SONGS INCLUDING RANCID, PENNYWISE, THE BRONX, GBH, FEAR AND A PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED COLLABORATION OF MOTÖRHEAD & THE DAMNED PERFORMING THE DAMNED CLASSIC: “NEAT, NEAT, NEAT”

“Neat Neat Neat” video https://youtu.be/YG8UQVY5WNk

Heavy metal and punk rock! It’s fair to say that these two noisy tribes now have a great deal in common – often melding together, almost indistinguishable, to produce bastard offspring of their own. But it wasn’t always this way. Indeed, there was a time when fists were more likely to be thrown than bumped, and beers more likely to be hurled than shared – except when it came to Motörhead. That was the one band all could agree on. The one band that was truly ours!

But while Motörhead’s impact on metal has long been acknowledged, their influence on punk, particularly the post-Sex Pistols second wave shouldn’t be underestimated. Cause and effect: It’s that simple. And such is the case with hundreds, thousands, of other bands, all made faster, dirtier, louder, better, by Motörhead. None more so than in punk rock. And that’s because Motörhead were, in essence, a punk rock band.

Lemmy once said: “The punks loved us. The only reason we weren’t in that lot was because we had long hair, so obviously we must be heavy metal. That was the thinking. But a lot of kids heard us without seeing a picture, so they thought we were a punk band.”

Across the fourteen tracks on the cunningly titled Killed By Deaf – A Punk Tribute To Motörhead (Oct. 31, BMG Recordings), you’ll hear a loving tribute to Motörhead from some of punk rock’s biggest and most respected bands. Luminaries like Rancid, Pennywise, Lagwagon, GBH, The Bronx, and FEAR all contribute raucous versions of their favorite Motörhead tracks… and also up-and-coming upstarts like Slaughterhouse contribute, because, let’s face it Motörhead always loved and championed the underdogs.

Lemmy and Motörhead aren’t honored with their own space in the Punk Rock Museum for nothing. Long before they covered the Sex Pistols’ “God Save the Queen” on We Are Motörhead and long before writing “R.A.M.O.N.E.S.” for the 1916 album in tribute to New York’s finest, Motörhead were sharing stages with the likes of The Damned, as they would continue to do many times over the years. Hell, Lemmy even joined The Damned (when they were The Doomed), albeit briefly, and playing some now infamous shows, and playing bass on a couple of studio tracks. It’s only fitting then, that the only non- Motörhead song on this album is from when he teamed up with them again in 2002 for a previously unheard and blistering version of The Damned’s classic, “Neat Neat Neat.”

Killed By Deaf – A Punk Tribute To Motörhead will be available on vinyl, CD and digitally. Pre-orders are available now: https://motorhead.lnk.to/killedbydeaf.

Killed By Deaf – A Punk Tribute To Motörhead tracklist:

1. Pennywise – Ace of Spades
2. Rancid – Sex & Death
3. The Bronx – Over The Top
4. Lagwagon – Rock ‘N’ Roll
5. FEAR – The Chase Is Better Than The Catch
6. GBH – Bomber
7. Murphy’s Law – Stay Clean
8. Slaughterhouse – Love Me Like A Reptile

Band Announces U.S. Headline Dates for the
What Lies Within Tour for 2026 with Filter or Sevendust
and Tim Montana in Select Markets

On the heels of the excitement from the recent announcements of their upcoming 8th studio album and their Blackbird festival in Wales next summer, acclaimed rockers Alter Bridge are releasing the first piece of music in over two years, “Silent Divide.” The track from the quartet comprised of Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums shows the band is back and ready to pick up where they left off in 2023. The brooding track begins with the signature guitar tones of Kennedy and Tremonti before the rhythm section of Marshall and Phillips join in. The chorus is powered by Kennedy’s haunting descent as he sings: “Keep your head down, ride out the silent divide.”

A music video for “Silent Divide” is also available today that the band has been teasing for days. A comedic opening skit was released of Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips calling Kennedy’s mom to get the band back together as Myles hangs in his mom’s basement. That scene gives way to a performance of the 4 guys playing together in a small room – a throwback to the way it all started for them. The video was directed by JT Ibanez, and the song can be found in all formats here:

With more than two decades performing together, Alter Bridge show no signs of slowing down. The new, self-titled album from Napalm Records, Alter Bridge, is comprised of 12 all new tracks from the band and features some of their most iconic moments on record. Songs like “Rue The Day,” “Disregarded,” and “Scales Are Falling” will fit alongside any of the classic songs from Alter Bridge’s catalog. “Trust In Me” shows Myles and Mark sharing vocal duties as Myles handles the verse duties while Mark takes the chorus. That strategy is flipped on “Tested And Able” as Mark handles the verses and Myles takes on the choruses behind one of the band’s heaviest intros to date, giving way to an unforgettable melody. The album closer “Slave To Master” is an epic track that Alter Bridge has come to be known for and is the longest song the quartet has recorded to date. The band worked with longtime collaborator and producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette on their eighth album. Alter Bridge will be released on January 9, 2026, and is now available for pre-order at: https://www.lnk.to/AB-AlterBridge.

The track listing for Alter Bridge is:

1) Silent Divide (5:06)
2) Rue The Day (4:46)
3) Power Down (4:08)
4) Trust In Me (4:48)
5) Disregarded (3:55)
6) Tested And Able (4:36)
7) What Lies Within (5:07)
8) Hang By A Thread (4:11)
9) Scales Are Falling (5:54)
10) Playing Aces (4:05)
11) What Are You Waiting For (5:00)
12) Slave To Master (9:03)

Concert Review: LIVE – Collective Soul Summer Unity Tour

  • LIVE     Collective Soul   Summer Unity Tour with Our Lady Peace +  Greylin James Rue
  • Starlight Theatre Kansas City, MO
  • August 12, 2025

Originally scheduled for June 16th, Mother Nature did not cooperate that night and after Special Guests Greylin James Rue and Our Lady Peace performed, the skies opened with a long steady rain and after an hour or so, the show was cancelled.

Rescheduled for August 12th, we all tried it again, and this time the hot August night was a success and very entertaining for the crowd, although it seemed that there were not quite as many attendees, probably due to the change of date of course.

Greylin James Rue – from Los Angeles, this Model, Actor, Musician opened with a short set of tunes, best of them being Steve’s House.  Hints of Morissette for me…..

Our Lady Peace – Canadian Alt Rockers – Multi Platinum award winners now for over 30 years.  Cool moment, the re-do of the song Whatever…originally used by WWE Wrestler Chris Beniot, proceeds from the songs play are now donated to suicide prevention initiatives.

Collective Soul – For me, the highlight of the evening was this bands performance.  It seemed many attendees agreed with me as there was a noticeable exodus after their set, which consisted of a couple of newer songs and the hits like “Shine”, “The World I Know”, “December”, “Where The River Flows” and “Run”.   Formed in 1992 by brothers Ed and Dean Roland in Georgia, on this night, the band was spot on with the music and the overall show performance.

LIVE – While I have always enjoyed the “hits” of LIVE, I really wasn’t aware of some of the other songs from their playlist but did enjoy everything that they played.   Formed in 1984 as LIVE, the band has gone through some changes to get to their current lineup.  Front man, Ed Kowalczyk, the last of the original members, is a great showman, and keeps the repertoire moving thru their set.   Throwing Copper remains their biggest selling album with hits such as “I Alone”, “All Over You”, “Selling the Drama” and “Lightning Crashes”.

Overall, a great night of music.   (Starlight, as always, is a top notch venue)
