Concert Review: Ace Frehley- “10,000 Volts Tour” Capitol Theater, Rome, NY

10,000 Volts Tour 2023

Ace Frehley, Angel, Bad Marriage,

Friday, April 12th 2024
Capitol Theater, Rome, NY

Our Score: 3 out of 5 stars

In support of his newly release solo album titled “10,000 Volts” original Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley made a stop at the historic Capital Theater, located in Rome, NY for night of out of this world music. The weekend jaunts will run through August and feature a variety of opening acts sharing the stage with the Space Man but for this night the bill included Bad Marriage and 70’s Casablanca label mates Angel.

The band Bad Marriage would take the stage promptly at 7pm performing their own unique signature blend of 80’s tinged rock and roll which set the stage nicely for the nights other performers. The band consisting of Mike Fitz, Ian Haggerty, Todd, Boisvert, Michael Delaney and former Tesla guitarist Tommy Skeoch were full of energy and wasted no time transitioning between songs over the course of their 45 minute set. Though a majority of the crowd were still making their way to their seats the band put on a top notch performance both musically and visually.

Veteran 70’s hard rockers Angel would be next to the stage clad in their signature white leathers. Original members Frank DiMino and guitarist Punky Meadows worked the stage like seasoned veterans taking time to thank the growing crowd for their continued support over all these years. The set featured songs from all aspects of the bands of the bands 40 plus year career and those in attendance showed their appreciation for the band through loud applause and cheer which the band seemed very appreciative of.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ace Frehley closed out the night by blasting onto the stage opening the night with “Shock Me” from Kiss’s 1977 album Love Gun. The crowd seemed surprised the Space Man was starting things off with one of his more well known sounds however they didn’t seem to mind is the entire theater seemed to instantly take to their feet to dance and sing along. “Rocket Ride” would be next on the set list album and as the closing notes rang out Frehley would take a brief pause to address the crowd and talk about his newly released solo album “10,000 Volts” which was followed by the track of the same name. This would be the only new material that was included in the evenings set and though Frehley seemed to struggle some with the vocals his backing band made up of bassist Ryan Cook, guitarist Jeremy Asbrock and drummer Scot Coogan all did great jobs filling in for the hard rock legend. As the night stretched Frehley pulled out all the signature stops which made him a fan favorite in his previous group. From his light up guitar on “New York Groove” to his smoke billowing solo guitar Frehley was the consummate professional and much like he had done for thousands of shows before he and the band closed things out with the sing along anthem “Rock and Roll All Night” which had fans of all ages leaving the venue with smiles on their faces and ringing in their ears.

The “10,000 Volts” tour runs through late August and has Ace and Co. performing all over the U.S. If the Spaceman is set to land in your area I highly recommend catching a show as you will be hard pressed to find another 73 year old artist performing at this level.

Multi-platinum rock band, Staind has released a new song, “Better Days” featuring Dorothy, from their latest album, Confessions of the Fallen. Buy/stream single HERE

“Better Days,” an emotionally charged power ballad that is classic Staind, marks the first time the band has a featured artist on a song. Singer and namesake of LA rock band, Dorothy brings her powerhouse vocals alongside Aaron Lewis, taking the sentiment of the song to the next level.

“This was a departure for me,” says Aaron Lewis. “It’s really the first time Staind explored a feature with a female guest vocalist. Once we started tracking I could tell the synergy was there. We didn’t have to pick harmonies, we didn’t have to analyze parts, they just happened. I’m stoked to have Dorothy on this single with me. Her talent and voice are incredible.”

“I had a great time tracking “Better Days,” adds Dorothy. “It’s a beautiful song and I hope fans connect with it. I’m so grateful to Aaron for the opportunity.”

PEARL JAM RELEASE NEW SINGLE “WRECKAGE” OUT NOW

PEARL JAM RELEASE NEW SINGLE “WRECKAGE”

NEW ALBUM DARK MATTER ARRIVES THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 19TH

DARK MATTER NORTH AMERICAN TOUR LAUNCHES MAY 4, 2024 Tickets Available HERE

“The New Pearl Jam Album Is Their Best In Decades” – UPROXX

“Dark Matter is many things. It’s thrilling. It’s moving. It’s surprising. It’s a band still operating at the peaks of their powers.” – Kerrang!

Pearl Jam proudly present their latest single, “Wreckage”. The single comes in advance of their anxiously awaited twelfth studio album, Dark Matter, available this Friday, April 19th via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records.

Stone Gossard on “Wreckage”:
“That one probably has the biggest build for me personally, in terms of hearing it at first and thinking, it’s kind of an Ed song. I wasn’t quite aware of its potency until later. Andrew [Watt] encouraged me to play this little harmonic, acoustic part almost like a Cure melody. I’ve been playing along with the song to relearn it and I’m really looking forward to playing it live. It’s a really powerful lyric and I think we did a really great job of taking something and really pushing it to its limit.”

Andrew Watt adds:
“[“Wreckage”] started with the riff and everyone kind of formulating sections together. That song just came to Ed right away. Within the first couple takes before the music was even right, his vocals were right. His melodies and words are so strong in that song. Once the initial spark was there and there were a few sections, it was just really about following him.”

GWAR
Announces “Age of Entitlement” Tour

June Dates feature Support from
Weedeater, X-Cops, Squid Pisser

September Dates feature Support from
Brujeria, BRAT, Cancer Christ

Shock Rock gods GWAR will embark on “The Age of Entitlement Tour” for two more legs of 2024 headline dates in support of their most recent album “New Dark Ages.”

This summer, the band has enlisted drug metal addicts WEEDEATER along with the habitually offensive cop rock of X-COPS as support. The savage hardcore weirdness of openers SQUID PISSER will alienate what is left of the audience. The summer leg of the “The Age of Entitlement” kicks off on June 7th in Hartford, Connecticut, and wraps on June 17th in Tampa, Florida.

In September, GWAR will go out again to kick more human ass, this time with absolutely brutal Latin American death grinders Brujeria, NOLA grindcore face-melters BRAT, and the reptilian Christianity of hardcore punk/metal evangelists Cancer Christ. That leg gets going on September 12th in Buffalo, New York, and will, mercifully, come to a close on September 20th in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Check out the full list of dates below.

GWAR vocalist Blothar the Berserker commented:

“This is an incredible time in the history of the world, so much death and destruction in the face of so much senseless entitlement and arrogant darkness. We cannot wait to shock some sense into humanity with the most outrageous performance of heavy metal theater ever to descend from the gods.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10:00 AM local time. Pre-sale tickets are available now through Thursday at 10:00 PM local time.

About Underoath

With each successive release, UNDEROATH reinvents the balance between chaos and harmony. Their compositions, conjured from creative tension, become iconoclastic anthems. Even when the band almost combusts, the crackling energy coalesces into something deeply resonant for millions.

Each time they have a chance to do something safe, Underoath challenges themselves instead, with integrity and attitude. Their pair of gold albums and three Grammy nominations stand in stark defiance of the idea of commercial compromise. The Underoath catalog weaponizes noise, aggression, and ambiance as skillfully as melody. The combination of heaviness and headiness found on Define the Great Line makes it the only record of its kind to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

The passion and power are as undeniable on tours with Alice In Chains or Bring Me The Horizon as they are in the sweatiest of intimate shows or their genre-redefining runs on Vans Warped Tour.

The heart of their sound, which delivers naked vulnerability with thrilling force and cinematic lushness, can be heard in generations of bands who’ve pursued their trail. But Underoath refuses to sit still. Walking an artistic tightrope between immersive access and isolationist otherness, Underoath owns the space between huge choruses and forward-thinking heaviness, both on record and onstage.

Underoath are:
Spencer Chamberlain – Vocals
Tim McTague – Guitar
Grant Brandell – Bass
Chris Dudley – Keyboards
Aaron Gillespie – Drums/Vocals

THE 20 YEARS OF TEARS TOUR, FEATURING HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS, THURSDAY, SAOSIN, AND ANBERLIN, TREKS ACROSS THE U.S. THIS SUMMER

EXTENSIVE TOUR CELEBRATING THE MUSIC OF THE MYSPACE GENERATION ALSO FEATURES I SEE STARS, CARTEL, ARMOR FOR SLEEP AND MORE

The 20 Years Of Tears tour, a once-in-a-lifetime 56-date, U.S. trek featuring varying line-ups surrounding core co-headliners Hawthorne Heights, Thursday, Saosin and Anberlin, kicks off this June before wrapping up in mid-September.

JT Woodruff, Hawthorne Heights vocalist and the architect behind the tour, as well as the co-founder of the ongoing Is For Lovers Festival, explains the inspiration for this not-to-be-missed touring event, which sees his band playing their debut album, The Silence in Black and White, in its entirety: “20 Years of Tears is a celebration of the genre that raised an entire generation, with basement-born bands to stadium headliners. Emo comes in all shapes and sizes and has touched the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life. With some of the biggest names of the MySpace Generation, this lineup is designed to give you the energy you had while feeling so misunderstood, as a ‘misguided’ youth. This is not just a summer concert, it is a must-see event that can reignite the fire inside all of us as we sing and scream together like it’s 2004.”

The tour incorporates the recently announced Is For Lovers Festival dates, with The 20 Years of Tears artists playing multiple Is For Lovers’ dates as well.

COLLECTIVE SOUL Kicking Off 30th Anniversary Celebration With The First Single, “Mother’s Love,” From Their Forthcoming New Double Album ‘Here To Eternity’ Due Out May 17

COLLECTIVE SOUL
KICKING OFF 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH
THE FIRST SINGLE, “MOTHER’S LOVE,”
FROM THEIR FORTHCOMING NEW DOUBLE ALBUM
‘HERE TO ETERNITY’
DUE OUT MAY 17;

“SUMMER CAMP WITH TRUCKS TOUR”
WITH HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH AND EDWIN MCCAIN
SET TO LAUNCH MAY 30

Since launching a major label career in 1994, COLLECTIVE SOUL has charted a path that most rock bands dream of, but only few achieve. They cut through a noisy 1990s rock scene with a knack for stick-to-you-like-glue melodies, roof-shaking guitars, and a touch of Southern grit. Behind enduring singles like “Shine,” “December,” and “The World I Know,” the band hit the ground running for what would not be a short-lived sprint, but a steady marathon of uncompromising – and always catchy – albums. Since launching, they’ve become one of the most reliable rock bands in America, a tried-and-true force in a world often defined by turmoil and turbulence.

COLLECTIVE SOUL is celebrating their 30th anniversary with today’s release of the first song and video, “Mother’s Love,” from their highly anticipated forthcoming double album, HERE TO ETERNITY. Pre-orders of the album will be available tonight at 12:00am Eastern Time on all digital outlets, while the lyric video–created by LyricVids Media–can be now seen on their official YouTube here.

On “Mother’s Love,” Ed Roland sings: “Guess we’re all misunderstood/To what we can and what we should/Still I find above/All my strength from Mother’s Love.” Featuring longtime Paul McCartney guitarist Brian Ray on slide guitar, the track blasts off the turntable with a foot-stompin’, gnarled riff before gliding into a chorus layered by high-flying harmonies. Alongside Ray, who lives in Palm Springs, guests on the album include longtime Sheryl Crow bandleader Peter Stroud and Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship fame.

COLLECTIVE SOUL recorded and self-produced HERE TO ETERNITY with co-producer Shawn Grove at Elvis Presley’s estate in Palm Springs, CA. They’re the only other music artist to ever record at the historical landmark.

“I happened to be walkin’ down the street and I had met Brian Ray a couple of times,” Ed Roland said. “I saw him and was like, ‘Brian, hey man. Why don’t you come over and break bread? We’re up at Elvis’ house.’” The invite for a bite of grub turned into a session, of course. With a laugh, Ed Roland added, “I’m gettin’ pretty sneaky in my old age.”

Stepping inside the King’s one-time California getaway, his influence seeped into the album-making process. Ed Roland and album co-producer Shawn Grove slept in the home for the duration of the sessions, which overlapped with the death of Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie in early 2023.

“The sticky DNA, with Elvis being there,” bassist Will Turpin said. “You can just tell it was his designs. All pink tiles. It’s straight out of 1977. It was super cool just to be there and in the zone.”

HERE TO ETERNITY, COLLECTIVE SOUL’s 12th studio release, is due out May 17 on their label, Fuzze-Flex Records distributed physically by AMPED Distribution and digitally by Virgin Music Group. It includes 20 brand new songs which will be available everywhere on digital stores and streaming partners (including a Dolby ATMOS version), as a single disc CD, and as a limited-edition double-disc colored vinyl.

Later this summer, the band will hit the road with Hootie & the Blowfish along with Edwin McCain for the “Summer Camp with Trucks Tour” produced by Live Nation. The trek–which will visit 44 cities across the U.S. and Canada–kicks off May 30 in Dallas and runs through September 28 in West Palm Beach, visiting arenas, amphitheaters and select stadiums such as Boston’s iconic Fenway Park (with special guests Barenaked Ladies) along the way. Tickets are on sale now at LiveNation.com and Citientertainment.com.

With 20 new songs, how does the band decide which to play live? You’ll have to catch a show to find out. “It’s tricky,” Dean Roland explains. “We know we wanna play the songs people came there to see, but it’s still fun. We’re gettin’ up there, doin’ our thing.” And fans can bet on COLLECTIVE SOUL taking songs from HERE TO ETERNITY on the road for years to come. As the album title suggests, three decades is just the start.

Check out the complete track listing for the double album and the band’s upcoming tour dates below, and stay tuned for more exciting 30th anniversary news soon.

1. Mother’s Love
2. Bluer Than So Blue
3. Let It Flow

May Tour Dates with CKY

X-COPS are back! After 25 years on the lam, the original Bad Boys of Law Enforcement have returned, bringing their unique brand of heavy metal with them. The world has never been more in need of the message they bring: “Respect authority, or else!”, and they have the riffs and the firepower to back it up!

Rumors about the identities of these uniformed thugs are rampant, with some even going as far as to say that they are made up of members of such legendary bands as GWAR, Rigor Mortis, and Darkest Hour, but the truth is they are actually former police officers who have banded together to beat the world into submission, force feed the public their own brand of Justice, and spread the word that All Cops Are Beautiful!

Commenting on the new release, Sheriff Tub Tucker had this to say,

“Listen up you degenerate punks! X-COPS are back on the streets with a new e.p. coming to disturb your peace! 5 armor-piercing tracks, locked and loaded and aimed directly between your eyes. This slab of police brutality features the single ‘Light ‘Em Up’, a little tale of how the fire that burned down the Branch Davidians in Waco, TX really started! Spoiler: it was us!”

Progressive metal pioneers Dream Theater share a unique bond with one of the most passionate fan bases around the globe as evidenced by their three GRAMMY® Award nominations, 2022 GRAMMY® Award win in the Best Metal Performance category for “The Alien” and 15 million records sold worldwide. The 1992 opus Images & Words received a gold certification and landed on Rolling Stone’s coveted “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All-Time.” Guitar World placed the follow-up Awake at #1 on “Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994.” 1996’s A Change of Seasons notably soundtracked NBC’s coverage of Downhill Skiing at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Fans voted the 1999 Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory the “Number One All-Time Progressive Rock Album” in a 2012 Rolling Stone poll. Not to mention, it ranked as the “15th Greatest Concept Album” by Classic Rock. 2009 saw Black Clouds & Silver Linings crash the Billboard Top 200 at #6 as A Dramatic Turn of Events [2011] and Dream Theater [2013] maintained a three-peat in the chart’s Top 10. In 2016, the band returned with their second concept album and sci-fi novel of the same name, The Astonishing. Jamie Lee Curtis, GWAR, R.L. Stine, Devon Sawa, Matthew Kiichi Heafy, and Jeffrey Reddick Will Appear in the Hit Horror Comic Book TRUE BELIEVERS

Bestselling Novelist Stephen Graham Jones, Acclaimed Writer Joshua Viola, and Artist Ben Matsuya Present A Cosplay Slasher Comic Book Set at the Colorado Festival of Horror

Some of the biggest names in horror — iconic actress Jamie Lee Curtis, the band GWAR, bestselling novelist R.L. Stine, screenwriter and film director Jeffrey Reddick (Final Destination), musician Matthew Kiichi Heafy, actor Devon Sawa, and the characters from the cult horror film Deathgasm — will make cameo appearances in TRUE BELIEVERS, a gripping and grisly new comic book mini-series co-written by bestselling Bram Stoker Award-winner Stephen Graham Jones and Denver Post bestselling writer Joshua Viola, featuring artwork by Ben Matsuya. The three-issue series, which delves into the world of cosplay and fan conventions, is set at the Colorado Festival of Horror. A Kickstarter campaign for the second issue features lettering by Jeremiah Lambert and variant covers by Matthew Therrien, Skinner, GWAR’s Matt Maguire, Luigi Scarcella of Half Sumo, and Ben Matsuya, as well as all-new, limited edition variant covers featuring Jamie Lee Curtis and R.L. Stine and Deathgasm by Therrien.

In TRUE BELIEVERS #2, a year has passed since the harrowing events of issue 1, which introduced readers to the bone-chilling slasher character, Killr™. Now a mysterious new figure emerges, adopting the enigmatic Killr™ persona—but is it just another obsessive fan or a new threat on the horizon? Brace yourself for a rollercoaster of suspense and humor with a fresh ensemble of characters. With new mysteries, hilarious gags, and an extra dose of blood, issue 2 promises a thrilling ride for both seasoned fans and newcomers alike.

“We’re incredibly honored to have iconic Scream Queen — Jamie Lee Curtis — featured in our slasher tale,” said Joshua Viola. “As a special treat for fans, we’re offering limited Jamie Lee Curtis variant covers by Matthew Therrien. But it’s more than just a cool cover. For every purchase of her variant, I will personally match that amount and donate it to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, in support of Jamie’s charity, My Hand In Yours. Your contribution to the campaign will make a significant difference in the lives of critically ill & injured children.”

“Nothing better than being at a horror convention, and the Colorado Festival of Horror does it right,” Stephen Graham Jones says. “Only thing better might be . . . I don’t know. Maybe being there and feeling like you’re walking through the panels of a slasher comic book?”

Rewards for the project include a 30 minute original score crafted by lead vocalist and guitarist of the Grammy-nominated band Trivium, Matthew Kiichi Heafy (available in limited blood-red saw-blade vinyls and cassette tapes), a Friday the 13th-inspired samurai latex mask donned by Heafy in the comic, Killr™ prop shears by Oktober Studios, a signed Matt Heafy Les Paul™ custom guitar, signed GWAR skate deck and drumsticks, and more.

All collector editions will include the oversized deluxe volume of the NO REMORSE: The Illustrated True Stories of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead book contained in a metallic foil embossed slipcase, with die cuts that reveal the holographic coating on Lemmy’s classic aviator specs on the cover of the book. All editions available for PREORDER now!

From his early years, Lemmy gravitated to the live-fast attitude of rock & roll, starting out as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix, joining the seminal space-rock outfit Hawkwind and famously getting fired from the band for “doing the wrong drugs.” Forming Motörhead in 1975 after his dismissal, he set out to kick things up and create an aural assault, the likes of which had not been heard. Lemmy Kilmister became the unequaled standard for the Rock & Roll lifestyle.

Of their first meeting, Dave Grohl recounts, “until then I’d never met what I’d call a real rock ‘n’ roll hero before. Fuck Elvis and Keith Richards, Lemmy’s the king of rock ‘n’ roll. A living, breathing, drinking, snorting, fucking legend. No one else comes close.” It’s the life of a Rock & Roll legend, and NO REMORSE: The Illustrated True Stories of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead captures it all.

SLASH, the iconic, GRAMMY®-winning guitarist and songwriter, has announced his highly anticipated sixth solo album titled Orgy of the Damned, will be released on May 17 via Gibson Records and is available to pre-order now HERE. A collection of 12 dynamic songs that shakes up and revitalizes blues classics with a stripped-down, instinctive approach, SLASH’s new album, Orgy of the Damned, creates a singular expression that pays homage to the blues.

The first single “Killing Floor,”-which features Brian Johnson of AC/DC on vocals, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith on harmonica-is an electrifying, raucous and gleefully unbridled take on Howlin’ Wolf’s 1964 Chicago blues standard; stream “Killing Floor,” out today HERE.

Watch/share the new video for “Killing Floor,” which offers a first look at SLASH and his blues band Johnny Griparic (bass), Teddy Andreadis (keyboards), Michael Jerome (drums), and Tash Neal (vocals/guitar), recording the song in the studio HERE.

Click here to play the video for “Killing Floor.”

“‘Killing Floor’ is one of my favorite Howlin’ Wolf songs, but also one of the iconic blues riffs that turned me on as a young guitar player. I’ve always wanted to cover it in some capacity and this record was the perfect vehicle. But playing it with this band, and with Brian Johnson singing, it was an achievement I would never have imagined back then. Let alone Steven Tyler providing the harp.”
-SLASH

“When Slash asked me to sing on ‘Killing Floor,’ I said yes immediately. It was one of the first songs I learned in my very first band, and when he played me the backing track it was a no-brainer, and Steven’s harmonica is so bloody hot. I had a ball with Slash in the studio, and I think we did this great old song justice. Rock on.”
-Brian Johnson (AC/DC)

By celebrating both well-known and largely undiscovered songs, SLASH offers a nostalgic nod to the past while reinvigorating the songs with his inimitable guitar playing and the spirit of collaboration. For Orgy of the Damned, the acclaimed guitarist re-teamed with storied producer Mike Clink and enlisted the album’s diverse guest vocalists, which include Gary Clark Jr, Billy F. Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Tash Neal, Chris Robinson, and Beth Hart, in a similar way to his 2010 self-titled solo LP Slash. To round out his band in the studio and on the road, SLASH reunited with two of his bandmates from his Blues Ball outfit in the 90s, bassist Johnny Griparic and keyboardist Teddy Andreadis, and brought on drummer Michael Jerome and singer/guitarist Tash Neal.

Although he grew up in England, SLASH’s American grandmother turned him on to the blues early on, and he was immediately taken with B.B. King. At the same time, his parents raised him on a healthy diet of 60s British rock ‘n’ roll, from The Who to The Kinks. Once he moved to Laurel Canyon, SLASH found himself surrounded by rock and folk singers like Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Neil Young—all of whom eventually inspired his playing and songwriting. It wasn’t until he began playing guitar himself that SLASH realized all of his favorite musicians had been influenced by the same B.B. King blues records he’d listened to as a young kid.

Orgy of the Damned encompasses a broad range of styles within the blues genre, veering from an upbeat, rowdy take on Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” to a plaintive, twanging rendition of T. Bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday.” Some of the songs, like Steppenwolf’s “The Pusher,” Charlie Segar’s “Key to the Highway,” and Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign,” had been performed by Slash’s Blues Ball, while others, like Stevie Wonder’s “Living for the City,” were long-time favorites for Slash. “Hoochie Coochie Man,” written by Willie Dixon and made famous by Muddy Waters in 1954, showcases the in-the-moment nature and unrestrained energy of Orgy of the Damned, with Z.Z. Top’s Billy F. Gibbons stepping in on guitar and vocals. The group went into a rehearsal room in North Hollywood and began hashing out soulful, rollicking takes on the classic songs. Everything was played live in the room, with an emphasis on improvisation which resulted in a collection of dynamic, energized songs that are immediate, raw, and distinctly familiar.

As SLASH was considering vocalists, he approached his old friend and collaborator, Iggy Pop, who had long wanted to record a blues song. Pop suggested Lightnin’ Hopkins’ 1962 track, “Awful Dream,” a sparse, drawling number originally laid down on acoustic guitar. The duo decided to recreate that stripped back vibe and recorded their own languid, emotionally resonant version sitting on two stools in SLASH’s studio. “Iggy’s interpretation of that song is actually sublime,” says SLASH. “And it’s something that nobody’s really heard from him. At the end of the track, you can hear him just singing the harmonica parts.”

Elsewhere on Orgy of the Damned, Demi Lovato lends her powerhouse voice to “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” a fervent, soulful version of the 1972 single by The Temptations that SLASH admired as a kid. Although the song veers more towards R&B, the guitarist wanted to give it his own impassioned spin. The album concludes with a soaring original instrumental number, “Metal Chestnut,” penned specifically for Orgy of the Damned by Slash.

Orgy of the Damned showcases a lesser-heard aspect of SLASH’s musical prowess. While he has always embraced a broad range of styles and genres, the album offers a rare opportunity to explore a unique side of his playing and bring to the forefront a rollicking journey through his strong blues inspirations, that have long been in the background of his illustrious career.

Orgy of the Damned will also be available on vinyl and via CD. For more information go to, www.slashonline.com.

The Inspector Cluzo – Laurent (guitar, lead vocals) and Mathieu (drums) – have earned worldwide applause and attention for their elemental brand of hard-working blues rock ‘n’ roll and uniquely self-sufficient approach. Since coming together in 2008, the fully independent duo has released nine albums via their own FTBP Records, including last year’s acclaimed Horizon. Produced by 6x GRAMMY® Award-winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, Phish), the album earned them the cover of Rolling Stone France as well as a four-starred rave, and named by Classic Rock as one of “The 50 Best Albums of the Year.”

Last year also saw The Inspector Cluzo starring in their own full-length documentary, Running A Family Farm, showcasing their extraordinary work as professional organic farmers in the Gascony region of France. The duo’s Lou Casse Farm (“The Oak” in Gascon) is a 15-hectare family farm building the agriculture of the future via Agro-Ecology, that is to say without chemicals, non-polluting, creating biodiversity, and fighting against climate change. Filmed over three years, the film – which follows the band’s 2015 documentary, Rockfarmers – presents an intimate look at the daily life and inner workings of Lou Casse, highlighting issues like global warming and the uncertain future facing family farms around the globe.

Along with running Lou Casse (as well as their own label and E-shop), The Inspector Cluzo have lit up countless stages around the work, performing more than 1200 gigs in 67 countries spanning North American runs supporting bands like Clutch and EELS to international festival appearances including Lollapalooza (France, Brazil, Chile), Japan’s Fujirock, South Korea’s Pentaport, the UK’s Download Festival, and France’s own Hellfest, to name only a few. As with Lou Casse, The Inspector Cluzo adhere to organic principles on stage and in the studio, guided by strong convictions and deep passion for the natural and true sound of the blues.
