If you are an active person, in this day and time, who does have a GoPro? Well Kodak has released the the Kodak PixPro SP360 to deliver a new angle in active lifestyle filming. I have used the GoPro cameras in the past and I was really excited of the concept of a 360 degree panorama handheld mini camera. The idea is cool but the product itself is a bit of a let down. Firstly, it is not user friendly AT ALL! It is extremely frustrating to setup and use.
There is no screen on this unit, which makes it even harder to navigate the menus in order to get this to function. Through either Wi-Fi or NFC (if you can get it setup), in order to see the images you need to use the PIXPRO Remote Viewer App on your iOS/Android device. I honestly wasn’t even satisfied with the quality of the images and video taken with this device. It is said to come with an advanced MOS sensor with 16 MP but I just felt that it looked less than par. I have seen many output results from GoPros and I was never disappointed to date.
I feel like I should still list some of the feature this comes with multiple viewing modes including Ring, Dome, Front Degree/Rear 180 Degree, 360 Degree Panorama, Globe. It is also 2m Shockproof, -10 Degree Freeze proof, Dustproof and Splash Resistant. Extreme Accessory Pack 16 MP Camera with 1x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom with 1-Inch LCD. The Extreme Accessory Pack includes the following: (1) Standard Housing, (1) Waterproof Housing, (1) Suction Cup, (1) Bar Mount, (1) Vented Helmet Strap for Top Facing, (1) Vented Helmet Strap for Front Facing, (1) Head Strap, (1) Surfboard Adhesive Mount, (1) Flat Adhesive Mount, (1) Curved Adhesive Mount, (2) Extended Arms, (1) Quick Clip.
If you are looking for the best outdoor camera though you can check out Globo Surf. With this one there is definitely is some expansion if you want to take this on the road with you but honestly, I would just stick with your every day GoPros this is a trying to be a replacement or an alternative but it really doesn’t come close in quality to it. The price is pretty low, so if you are able to pick up one use or cheap to try, it couldn’t hurt to play with but I wouldn’t rely on it for your big trip since you will end up being disappointed with the end result for sure.
