The evolution of slot machines – from the Liberty Bell to online

Everyone can agree on who made the slot machine, in any case, there are contradictions about when this happened. Charles Fey is acknowledged to have finished in his advancement in either 1887 or 1895, yet the present slots share little for all goals and reason with the main machines that were truly established on cards. Be that as it may, Fey didn’t begin his life needing to concoct the slot machine. The inventor was conceived in Bavaria in a family with 15 more kin. At fourteen, he started to work to assist his family, yet he started to fear being drafted into the German armed forces. That, alongside developing strain among him and his dad, prompted Fey going to France to fill in as an instrument creator.

Fey’s machine had three reels and his symbols were the natural precious stones, hearts, and spades, with the additional Liberty Bell. His notable machine really took its name from this image. It wasn’t too hard to even think about reading a success on the early slot machine, and arranging three Liberty Bells offered players the most noteworthy payout. The way that the machine had a programmed payout was novel and before long made it a hot item. Truth be told, Liberty Bell was so generally welcomed that numerous copycat machines before long started to show up.

After the Liberty Bell surprised the world, the following outstanding expansion to the slots scene was the Operator Bell. Made by the Mills Novelty Company with the commitment of Charles Fey, the Operator Bell would acquaint a few changes with the class, however not even close as exceptional as the Liberty Bell. The Operator Bell, for the most part, included personal satisfaction changes, making the experience progressively charming. In addition, it is felt that the Operator Bell is the main slot machine to incorporate the foods grown from the ground symbols that we currently know and love. It is considered 30,000 of these machines were made and sold.

With the progression of time, casino innovation turned out to be increasingly best in class. The land-based industry was flourishing and numerous new slots turned out for gamblers to appreciate. In any case, there was another type of betting seemingly within easy reach and it would offer bettors another and energizing possibility – Internet betting.

The ascent of online betting in the mid-1990s enabled slots to progress from the landbased club floors to the screens of spinners’ work stations. The games whose accessibility was recently limited to club floors, bars, and cantinas are presently promptly accessible to anybody with a PC and a solid web association.

As the Internet turned into a greater factor in regular day to day existence, organizations attempted to benefit from this and soon another online betting industry rose all of a sudden. Before long the main influx of online club hit the market and they offered novel ways for individuals to put bets. The main online slots were made accessible to people in general and players couldn’t get enough of them. Given slot games are the most well-known games in the land-based club, it was unavoidable that a similar marvel would rehash itself on the web.

The majority of the online traffic wound up on the online slots which needed to rapidly develop to oblige an energetic web-based playing group of viewers. After just a couple of years, the industry had developed exponentially and it was headed to turning into a worldwide wonder. Gamblers could now appreciate top-quality slots from the comfort of their own home and the main prerequisite being a PC and an Internet association.

Each online slot game utilizes an arbitrary number generator PC which makes irregular groupings each millisecond to guarantee that each slot is reasonable and not fixed. This arbitrary number framework is incorporated with all slots and every single authorized club, guaranteeing a reasonable playing experience. As it’s totally irregular, the past twists won’t have anything to do with the triumphant arrangement. On the off chance that a slot has as of late paid out a bonanza, it will, in any case, have similar chances of paying if the big stake was never activated – slots have no memory. It resembles flipping a coin, since you’ve flipped heads multiple times straight, doesn’t mean tails are probably going to arrive on the following flip!

You could experience the best online slot games on offer by visiting online gambling club like www.mobilecasinokings.com. Any honest Mobile Casino Kings survey can affirm this!

Slot Machines Based on TV Shows

With the recent development of online casinos, which has caused a transformation in how people all over the world play their favourite casino games, online slots have become very popular. While traditionally, games such as blackjack, poker, and roulette have dominated the world of gambling, online slots are now more popular than ever before. This is often explained as due to the simple and easy to understand plots and genres that online slots seem to follow, as well as the immersive graphics that technological advances have been able to offer players.

However, one of the latest trends in online slot machines is the development of themes, plots, and genres based on popular TV shows. While TV programmes are continuing to get better, both in terms of their narrative as well as special effects, it is no surprise that online slot developers are jumping on the popularity of current TV shows. Even some of the more traditional and classic shows, such as cartoons can be found at online casinos in the form of a modern slot machine. Slot machines based on TV shows offer players to immerse themselves, even further into the imaginary world created by the programme, such as fantasy kingdoms, your favourite game show, or even a popular reality TV show. When it comes to playing online slot machines that are based on TV shows, the opportunities are endless.

Game of Thrones

While the phenomena that is Game of Thrones has gone from strength to strength since the American network channel, HBO, brought G R R Martin’s book series to life through the creation of an on-screen TV series, it has also become a very popular online slot machine. If you loved the books or the series, then this is the game for you. Provided by Microgaming, the Game of Thrones slot machine has some of the best graphics available, meaning that you truly are playing the game of thrones! The 4 main houses of Westoros that we have all come to either love or hate, Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, and Baratheon feature in the online slot game, and you can pick to join and defend your chosen house, or make an attempt for the Iron Throne yourself!

Family Guy

The popular American animated sitcom follows the life of the Griffin family that is currently in its 17th season. Game developers have jumped on the show’s popularity and developed its very own slot machine for fans to enjoy. Through this game, you can spend some time in Quahog and immerse yourself in Seth MacFarlane’s imaginary world. The slot machine has 30 paylines and 5 reels for you to enjoy, meaning that you have a good chance of becoming a winner. It offers great high-quality graphics and realistic sound effects that will bring the slot themes to life.

Bullseye

If you enjoy a bit of nostalgia, then this online slot is the one for you. This typically British game show that ran from 1981 to 2006 and followed a darts theme, has now been brought back to life by online slot machine developers. This is also supported and provided by industry leaders Microgaming, and this retro game will transport you right back to the youth of your 80’s. From the well-known theme tune to the recognisable voice of presenter Jim Bowen, this is a great reflection of the tv show. The famous game mascot Bully is the highest valued symbol in the entire game, so be sure to keep looking out for him! Bullseye is an easy to navigate game and if you were a fan of the TV show, then it won’t take you long to figure out how everything works. Bullseye the online slot also provides free spins, and any wins you do have during your first 15 free spins will be doubled!

Britain’s Got Talent

Popular and current talent show Britain’s Got Talent is providing us with even more entertainment through the development of its very own slot machine. The TV show, produced by talent manager and talent show judge Simon Cowell, has provided the world with icons such as Susan Boyle and dance troupe Diversity, and many of the show’s favourites feature in the game. By spinning the wheel, you will find out which acts will represent you, and through the live show bonus you can get the chance to decide which acts to take through to the live finals. The plot is very similar to the talent show itself, so fans of Britain’s Got Talent will enjoy everything that the online slot has to offer.

Due to the popularity of both new and old TV shows, it is hardly surprising that more and more slot games are being developed with these shows in mind. As their titles are well-known, they are also becoming increasingly popular with online players.

Book Review “Pacific Rim: Man, Machines & Monsters – The Inner Workings of an Epic Film”

Author: David S. Cohen
Hardcover: 160 pages
Publisher: Insight Edition
Release Date: June 18, 2013

Our Score: 5 out of 5 stars

Guillermo del Toro is my absolute hero! This guy should be making every single movie in Hollywood.  “Pacific Rim” is any guys dream come true. Giant monsters and giant robots going head-to-head…I need a minute to myself.  Ok, I am back! I seriously can say that this is my most anticipated film of the entire summer.  Yes, I know that action heroes are the hottest thing right now but you cannot put that up against monsters and robots. This book is also one of my favorite companion books from this year. It is part art book, part visual companion.  Best of both worlds!

Official Premise: When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

You can also imagine that a $200 million dollar film is going to be backed with some amazing artwork and pre-production planning.   This book contains some really amazing images, all displayed in super high quality.  There is some amazing detailed set photography, along with great commentary from the film’s creative team. I also liked insights into the battle-torn world of 2025 CE depicted in the movie, so it takes you behind the story as well as behind the scenes. One aspect I loved about this book is that it is also very hands on, there are multiple sketches, blueprints and various tabs to enhance this experience. There are also two pull out posters in the back of the book.

David S. Cohen has been writing for Variety for over 10 years and is the author of “The Ballad of Rango: The Art & Making of an Outlaw Film”, which is another great companion book. There is an awesome foreword from director Guillermo del Toro.  He really is so passionate about his films and I loved reading what he had to say about this film. Some of the art in the book might be considered to be a bit of a spoiler since all of the monsters and robots are not show in the trailers but I couldn’t care less, I loved every page of this book and now I just want to see the film more!

As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis talks about Austrian Death Machine’s third album "Triple Brutal"

Tim Lambesis is the vocalist for the metalcore group As I Lay Dying. The group released their 6th studio album titled “Awakened” in September of 2012 after spending the summer performing on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival. Tim’s side project Austrian Death Machine is set to release their third album titled “Triple Brutal” and with the help of indiegogo.com the group is offering fans once in a life time chances to help make the new album a reality. Media Mikes spoke with Tim recently about the upcoming release and found out just how dedicated he is to this record and the fans.

Adam Lawton: How did Austrian Death Machine originally come together?
Tim Lambesis: I wanted to do something that would be light and fun. There are all these great Arnold Schwarzenegger one liners from movies I grew up watching as a kid that I thought would make great song lyrics. The project really started out as more of a joke. I started writing the music and things just began coming together. We have this sort of cult following now which is pretty cool.

AL: In the past you have been responsible for the majority of lyrics and instrumentation. Was this still the case for the new album?
TL: With this being our third release now I kind of wanted to mix things up. I wanted to bring in friends and have them work on various songs. Most of the songs on the new album have been co-written which I think gives the record a more diverse feeling. There are a couple of tracks on there where I did things the old way which had me playing all the instruments and doing most of the vocals. Having those different people come in I think has made this release the best.

AL: I assume things were a little less stressful then for you this time around?
TL: It was. The thing is that even though I wasn’t doing as much song writing I was doing a ton of coordinating. Getting everyone together took some work. We actually are still working on the solos as we speak. Once those are completed we will be able to start the mixing process. I sort of traded one stress for another.

AL: Did the recent resurgence of Arnold Schwarzenegger in films influence the new album at all?
TL: That was definitely one of the motivating factors. We kind of let the project sit for awhile after putting out 2 records. Fans of those records were always asking me when new material was going to be coming out. That is what made me decide to get things up and running again.

AL: Can you explain your involvement with indiegogo.com?
TL: One of the reps for the site had gotten in touch with me and asked if I would be interested in doing something with them as Austrian Death Machine hadn’t done a new album in awhile. Fans of this band are real diehard fans and I thought doing something like this would give those fans more of a direct connection with the group. We have come up with some really special perks that probably wouldn’t happen when working on a normal record.

AL: Can you tell us about some of the unique packages that are available?
TL: We threw a bunch of stuff out jokingly and we actually ended up using some it. It’s one of those things that will get people talking and keep things interesting.  We did have to limit some of the packages like the one where if you pledge $5,000 I will tattoo your name on my ass. That one is limited to two. One on each side will be the maximum. I came up with about 20 initial ideas and brought them to the guy at indiegogo.com I am working with. We narrowed it down to the best ones  and then we fine
tuned them.

AL: Are there plans to tour in support of the release?
TL: That sort of depends on a couple things. First we have to see how the pledging campaign goes. We still have quite a few days left on that. If there are funds and the means to do a tour we will definitely be out there. The shows in the past have always been a fun time and the guys who play with me on those dates are always asking if we can do more shows. It’s one of those things where it’s hard to put together shows when I am gone so long with As I Lay Dying. If the opportunity becomes available I would love to do it.

AL: Has As I Lay Dying confirmed any dates for the coming Spring/Summer?
TL: We are getting ready to release the info for a tour that is going to be really cool. That I think starts in May sometime. After that most of our summer will be spent over in Europe doing festivals.

The Machine's Tahrah Cohen talks about touring and performing Pink Floyd

Tahrah Cohen is co-founder and drummer for the Pink Floyd cover band, The Machine. The band is celebrating 25 years of performing and spreading the music of Pink Floyd. Media Mikes had a chance to chat with Tahrah about the music and what she loves most.

Mike Gencarelli: You and Joe Pascarell founded The Machine back in 1988. What has been the highlight of the past 25 years?
Tahrah Cohen: We have just been having a great time touring all over the world. We have been to so many wonderful places and just love spreading the music to them.

MG: Given that you guys play the entire Pink Floyd back catalog – from well-known classics like “Comfortably Numb” to obscurities like “Careful With That Axe, Eugene”, is it difficult swing back and forth through the songs?
TC: Everyone in the band really knows how to do their part really well. Whether they are playing a David Gilmour part or singing a Roger Waters part it is not a problem. We are really experts for these situations at this point.

MG: Pink Floyd was known for their elaborate stage shows that, over time, evolved into massive-scale light shows and stage sets that were really ideal for large venues like outdoor stadiums. In terms of The Machine’s live performance, how important is the visual part of the

show? Do you feel that if your audience doesn’t get to see the circular-screen film projections, lasers bouncing all over the place and pigs flying that they’ll come away disappointed?
TC: It is very important. We use the visuals as accentuations of the show. Our focus has always been the music. We do not neglect the visuals. We have the video and lasers with an elaborate light show. Our shows do come with the visual aspect but our focus is the music.

MG: Are there any Floyd songs that The Machine will not play and, if so, why?
TC: Some of the earlier music, when Pink Floyd was developing their own sound is a little amateur. It doesn’t really stand the test of time like most of the material will. Just like any musician. We stay away from certain era’s of their development but still play from their first album to their last.

MG: What are your personal favorites? And what is the one song that everybody in the band collectively enjoys playing most?
TC: Personally, I love playing “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”, the whole thing – all parts. I love it. We have probably played it 2500 times, easily. Every time it is on the set list, I am still excited to play it. The crowd always goes crazy for “Comfortably Numb” every time. We go crazy for anything on “Animals”. People that love Pink Floyd love it all.

MG: Over the course of the band’s career, how have the audiences that you play to changed?
TC: They have changed as we have changed. We’ve gotten older and they have gotten older. But their are also parts of our audience has have gotten younger, as well. There is a whole new generation of Pink Floyd fans under 20 years old and they are coming now to see us.

MG: What do you (and the other members) do when you’re not out there playing Floyd, both musically and non-musically?
TC: We all have other musical projects. We are all active with other bands and shows.

MG: Finally…which one’s Pink: Roger or David? 😉
TC: Ah…that is up to you to decide [laughs].

Marc & Shannon Parker from Parker Brothers Concepts chats about working on Syfy’s “Dream Machines”

Marc & Shannon Parker are the owners of Parker Brothers Concepts, which is located in Melbourne, FL.  They are also the stars on Syfy’s “Dream Machines”.  They have created cars for 50 Cent, WWE’s John Cena and Universal’s recent film “Battleship”.  Media Mikes recently had a chance to visit the shop in our first collaboration with MyGarageShop.com and got a chance to sit down and chat with the guys about the show and their inspiration behind it.

Mike J. Gencarelli: Tell us about the origin of Parker Bros Concepts?
Shannon Parker: It actually happened by accident. We started out just building things just to be building things. To begin with Marc and I talked about just building choppers, just regular bikes. I thought with the economy the way it way, I thought it was a bad idea because there are a lot of chopper builders out there. We only had enough money to build one…
Marc Parker: We didn’t even have enough money to build one [laughs]
SP: We didn’t have quite enough money to build one vehicle. So we talked about it a little bit and I really wanted to do a replica of the Batpod from “The Dark Knight”. I thought if we run out of money or can’t sell it at least I got something I wanted anyway. So we built it and put it out on the internet to get attention to sell it. We put it out there for $100,000 and when we did that it drew all kinds of attention. We weren’t able to sell it right away but it gave us some great attention and a step towards what we should do next. I think the next step we built our Xenon Light Motor Bike. After that we were off and running…

MJG: How did you get involved with SyFy and “Dream Machines”?
MP: Once the Xenon Light Motor Bike hit the internet it started going viral and before we were even done, we got a call from the TV people. At that point we were only in business for a couple of months. A guy named Edwin Zane called us up and asked “How would you like to do a TV show because the stuff you do is really cool?”. The company he was with at the time threw out a couple of numbers to us and at the time went with out gut and didn’t go with it…luckily. Especially now that we know what we know. He left that company and went to another company and pitched us again.
SP: In the meantime, we were getting pitches from other production companies as well but we never felt comfortable. We liked Edwin as a person and felt comfortable with him. Edwin then moved to another production company called Triage, Inc. and we ended up going with him full circle around.
MP: Triage is taking good care of us. It is a good show for them. They are a big enough company that they are able to do what needs to get done but still small enough to where we are important to them. Once we signed up with him then he pitched it to seven-eight networks. Literally the next day, he had four of the networks interested in the show. Syfy stepped up and said the first day “He is a contract we will take it”. No messing around. They are revamping that network right now and our show fits in well with them.

Mike P. Gencarelli: What made you switches from Parker Bros Choppers to Parker Bros Concepts?
SP: It was the show. More than anything, we didn’t want to come across as old school bike builders and that is it.
MP: When we first started, the original idea and name of the business was going to be Parker Bros Concepts but then we thought no one would know what that is. The original thought was choppers sell, the stuff we are building is weird and not sure if it would sell or not. We were probably going to end up building a couple of choppers local and build our way up. Then on the side build the concept and if people like them great and if they don’t we can just keep them. We went with Parker Bros Choppers for the name and then it came around full circle since the stuff we were doing was more important to the TV people. They didn’t want us to look like the Orange County Choppers. We switched it over to concepts.

MJG: What was it like shooting a reality show and working your day to day business?
MP: Oh my God!
SP: It was difficult…
MP: …and a lot different than we thought it was going to be. SP: You think it is just going to be a camera standing there off in the background and shooting but it doesn’t really work that way. There is a lot of interviews. It is a totally different world for us. It was a cool experience but it was pretty difficult to build something when they are asking us to do it over. Sometimes they may not get it the first time or may need a different angle.
MP: Or before you do anything you need to check it first with the showrunner or director and make sure it is something if they want to get on camera or not. Then we need to wait for them to get the cameras ready before we do the work.

MPG: On the show you guys have these ridiculous deadlines. Is that due to the show and now that we know about filming; how does that affect the deadlines?
MP: It kills the deadlines.
SP: Normally you would think the deadline is reality. All of these things were needed for certain events or premieres. It was one of those “have-to” situations. You have to have it done by this time.
MP: In addition all of these projects, like 50 Cent’s car, if 50 came to us normally and said I want this car, wewould say give us a year/year and a half and we will have this car for you. But you can’t build a show around something like that. All of the deadlines came into play since we only have “X” number of months to film “X” number of episodes. So a lot of these we had to cram into a shorter period of time just because of being able to film them.

MPG: Got a funny question, why is the logo on the roof?
MP: It is actually not!
MPG: It’s not? CGI?
MP: On the show they will show the roof two or three times and sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not. They spent a lot of money on this helicopter for one day. One of the shotsthey wanted was a building shot. The building looks kind of plain and didn’t really stand out against everything else on the road. They wanted to use the shot since they spent the money on the helicopter and so they CGIed it up there.

MJG: What was your most challenging project to date?
MP: Filming a TV show [laughs].
SP: I don’t know I think John Cena’s car was very difficult. Trying to figure out all the things that go into it. That was was also weird for us beecause we started out with a frame, since normally we don’t. We had a lot of issues…
MP: …trying to work around it. Sometimes starting from scratch makes it a lot easier on you with the crazy designs we are working with. It is hard to take sometime and make it fit into that design. If you just start from scratch, even though there is a lot more hours into it, it makes the design and the build come together a little easier. The most difficult in my mind was the Shredder from “Battleship”. With the Shredder we really got to showcase what we wanted to do. When we started this show, we threw a bunch of really over-the-top project out there at the network. They had us tone it down a bit but not completely insane.
SP: Like the single man sub-marine.
MP: Yeah we wanted to do a one man attack sub-marine and some flying vehicles. But that was personally the hardest but also my favorite build.

MPG: Besides plans for season two of “Dream Machines”; what do you see yours doing years down the line?
MP: Hopefully, we get to execute our plans from the very beginning. We want to be the go-to guys for Hollywood. We want to be the guys to build the vehicles for the movies and TV shows. Whether we are on TV or not, if we are building these things that is what we are into.
