Paramount/Universal

Our score: 5 out of 5 Stars

Pop quiz: In 1977, 20th Century Fox announced plans to release one of the most anticipated films of the past few years. What was it?

Four men. Each of them running from something that will consume them. There’s Jackie Scanlon (Scheider). A small time gangster, he and some of his pals have just made the mistake of robbing a New Jersey church whose priest happens to be the brother of a BIG time gangster. Victor (Cramer) is a Frenchman running away from a certain prison sentence in his native country. Kassem (Amidou) is running from his past as a wanted terrorist in Jerusalem, whlle Nilo (Rabal) is a mystery man. They find themselves deep in the South American jungles where they are recruited to drive trucks loaded down with highly volatile explosives. Their reward: freedom at best. At worse: BOOM!

William Friedkin’s follow-up to “The Exorcist,” “Sorcerer” is a loose remake of the French film “The Wages of Fear.” For various reasons, none that I couldn’t understand as a 16 year old boy, it was not greeted well by the public or film critics. Was it the symbolism? The fact that the first 15 minutes of the film are mostly in a foreign language? Heck, was it the “Exorcist” curse? I have no idea but I can tell you today what I thought 40 years ago: “Sorcerer” is a masterpiece of filmmaking.

Friedkin took his cameras on-location to various locales across the world and captured the colors and emotions of each one brilliantly. In the South American jungles, the beauty of the trees and wildlife contrasts against the dreary, constantly rain-filled skies. As the trucks begin on their journey, you are white knuckled with the drivers, as each roadside cliff, rock-strewn road and badly dis-repaired bridge constantly puts the men one bad bump away from death. As the road gets more treacherous, the men learn that, if they can’t trust each other, there will be no one left to complete their mission.

The cast is top notch, with Scheider coming across as a modern day Fred C. Dobbs. The rest of the cast are equally strong. Even when there are no words being spoken, the four men communicate plenty. Visually the film is stunning. The restoration makes the film look brand new. And the score, by German band Tangerine Dream, is outstanding. If I have one quibble, it is that I remember seeing the film opening night with a short four-minute overture while the screen stayed black. The creepy music and black screen really helped prepare you for what you were about to see.

OK, do you know the answer to my question? If you said “Star Wars” you are…WRONG! No, the big movie from Fox that year was supposed to be “The Other Side of Midnight,” based on the steamy novel by Sidney Sheldon. Very few theatre owners had even heard of “Star Wars.” That film’s prospects were so low that Fox mandated that any theatre that wanted to play “The Other Side of Midnight” had to agree to play “Star Wars,” which was bad news for “Sorcerer,” which opened in many cities the week after “Star Wars.” Mann’s Chinese Theatre, which had played “Star Wars,” dropped it after a week to play “Sorcerer.” This was May 1977. Soon, “Star Wars” returned, where it played through June 1978. Not bad for a movie nobody wanted.

“Sorcerer” is now back on the big screen at many Alamo Drafthouse Theatres. To see if it’s playing in your city, head here.

What Can We Expect from “Game of Thrones” Season 7?

Source: Game of Thrones via Facebook

Season six of Game of Thrones, fortunately, didn’t leave viewers in disarray, unlike the finale of the previous season. In fact, it gave hope that the end game is upon us and viewers will soon be rewarded, watching their favorite characters finally succeed in the quests that they embarked on at the very beginning. But knowing our beloved show, there are sure to be a few spanners in the works in season seven of the greatest TV series ever made. Needless to say, beware of spoilers to anyone who hasn’t watched up until the end of season six.

The release date of the next episode of GoT has been confirmed for July 16 this year. But for those who just can’t contain their anticipation over the return of the Westeros residents, there are other ways to get a fix before July. One option is to re-watch all the episodes from the beginning in one of the most epic TV marathons ever. Another is to play the intriguing Telltale game series that explores an entirely original storyline set in the same universe. There is also a Game of Thrones slot game, developed by iGaming software provider Microgaming. As discussed by casino comparison site http://www.casinouk.com/, the studio is best known for their extensive selection of slots, including those based on other licensed titles such as Jurassic Park. Along with all those things, there is a GoT strategy board game by Fantasy Flight Games that is great to play with friends.

The best pastime could be coming up with theories on what will happen. Because the series has totally overtaken most of the storylines in the book, viewers are well and truly heading into the unknown. All HBO has graced us with so far is the above teaser trailer that focuses on Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jon Snow all taking up their respective seats of power. Cersei sits upon the Iron Throne, Jon takes his place as King in the North in Winterfell, and the throne that Daenerys claims is at Dragonstone, an old Targaryen stronghold that hasn’t featured much in the TV show up to now.

The most intriguing aspect of the trailer is Cersei blowing out cold breath at the end just before it cuts to the icy blue eye of the Night’s King. The internet has sparked a debate about what this could mean for the trajectory of the series. The most likely thing is that this is suggesting that winter has finally come, and the White Walkers will breach the wall and head south. But with two more full seasons planned, one would expect this to be a huge action piece in the final episode of the forthcoming season.

However, others think that Cersei may be planning to try and forge some kind of allegiance with the Night’s King. A Song of Ice and Fire folklore suggests that that wouldn’t be entirely impossible, as the Night’s King was once supposedly a Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. He was seduced by a “woman with skin as white as the moon and eyes like blue stars” beyond the wall who subsequently took his soul and turned him into a White Walker – could Cersei be destined for a similar fate?

The great thing about this show now is that there can’t be any book spoilers, and people can come up with whatever theories they like. Some believe that we may even get to see an ice dragon. July 16 can’t come quickly enough.

The Secret Casinos of the Gaming World

New video games have taken the world by storm. Old video games were over quickly, had limited graphics and sound and boasted maybe 2-3 key features that grabbed player’s attentions, but now games are complex, enthralling masterpieces that often have unlimited replay value. One part of gaming that has been around since the beginning is the Easter Egg. This started out mainly as an in-joke between developers, who would slip little additions into games, often without permission, that would be difficult to find for the average gamer. Easter Eggs are now purposely put into games, along with other features such as minigames, unlockable content or download only features, characters or costumes. We’ll be taking a look at some of the best hidden content or side games that feature casino gaming and gambling, so gamers who enjoy trying their luck in playing online slots can revisit their old favorites to find content they might not already know about.

Pokemon Red and Blue

Rewind back to 1996 and the games which kicked off a multi-million dollar global phenomenon and unbelievably, you can visit a Pokemon casino complete with themed slot machines. Many players will know about this one, but may not know that just like in real-life, the machines have fixed odds that can be taken advantage of.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

Even though there are literally hundreds of Easter Eggs, references and lines lifted straight from popular culture in the entire Grand Theft Auto series, one of the most popular side games from the 2004 PS2 / Xbox release were the casinos that could be visited in the game’s Las Venturas area, a like for like digital remake of Las Vegas. Although you can hit it big by gambling in-game money, if you end up in the red and tried to run away, you’ll be hunted down by armed casino guards who will try to claw some of their money back.

Fallout: New Vegas

The second game in the re-launched 3D fallout world followed on from the massively successful Fallout 3 back in 2011. Set in a futuristic Las Vegas that has suffered from nuclear war, players must follow the storyline to figure out what happened them and pick a side ahead of a battle for the Hoover Dam. Along the way, you can of course visit some bombed-out casinos and partake in a game of blackjack, roulette or caravan, a specially designed card game for the series. The hidden content can be found in the Atomic Wrangler casino in Freeside, where you’ll get an ominous tap on the shoulder if you start winning too often…

Red Dead Redemption

Rockstar’s critically acclaimed western game turned heads back in 2010 and a sequel is on the way this year. Rockstar make great minigames and liar’s dice was no exception. John Marsden, the main character, could play this basic dice game and also poker in many of the saloons within the gaming world, getting into fights if the player won against the wrong guy.

The Legend of The Holy Grail in Film

There are many legendary tales from years gone by, legends that have been handed down to generation after generation.

Some have managed to become a little convoluted over time as they ultimately change as society and culture changes around them, whereas other legends have caught the imagination and even helped inspire some memorable moments in film, television and even the world of gaming.

One such Arthurian legend revolves around the divine vessel known as the Holy Grail, and the apparently epic quest to uncover it.

Here’s a look at just some of the shows, movies, literature and games that have been inspired and spun off from this cup of eternal youth.

MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL (1975)

To kick things off we just have to make sure that this incredible comedic gem is where it belongs, right at the top. From the surreal minds of the world famous Monty Python team they were able to collectively draw from the Arthurian legend of the Holy Grail in their first feature film outing.

It was 90 minutes of absurdity and hilarity and in spite of its budgetary restrictions it still bought an incredible amount of historical accuracy and realism to the proceedings focusing on King Arthur (played by the late Graham Chapman) and his loyal knights as they embark on their legendary Grail quest.

INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (1989)

In what should have been the final feature in an Indiana Jones trilogy, which was sadly followed up with an extremely unsatisfactory and almost ridiculous sequel involving aliens and crystal skulls, Indie’s final crusade involved plenty of action and adventure as he teamed up with his Holy Grail scholar father as they set out to track down the legendary cup before those pesky Nazis get their hands on it.

In the final moments of the movie Indiana must face a series of challenges in order to reach the cup only to face a vast selection of various cups, false Grails and an ageing knight sworn to protect the chamber.

He must choose the correct one in order for it to give healing powers, needed to help his injured father.

AVALON 2

In this follow up to the original popular slot game the fun and medieval theme flows around the quest for the grail. Avalon 2 is a 5-reel game that requires the player to help King Arthur retrieve the grail and return it to Avalon.

It includes a special Grail Bonus feature that includes an impressive line-up of 8 additional bonus games to enjoy. It’s triggered when 3 or more random Grail symbols appear anywhere on the reels and there’s plenty there to keep most gamers interested.

THE DA VINCI CODE (2003)

In Dan Brown’s bestselling mystery thriller novel ‘The Da Vinci Code’ it’s Professor Robert Langdon who races around on his hunt for the legendary Grail.

Along with police cryptographer, Sophie Neveu, the pair must solve a number of cyptic clues that will lead them to the hailed cup which is revealed to not actually be a cup at all, but a tomb containing the bones of Mary Magdalene.

Behind the Screen – Please, Oscar Winners, Check Your Politics at the Door

The day is April 3, 1978. At the 50th Annual Academy Awards, held that evening, “Star Wars” will be given seven Oscars. Steven Spielberg will receive his first Oscar nomination. “The Turning Point” will set a record, later tied by Spielberg’s “The Color Purple,” by earning 11 nominations and winning nothing. And “Annie Hall” will be named the year’s Best Picture.

But the image that stands in my mind is of the great writer Paddy Chayefsky coming to the podium to present the Screenplay awards. Earlier in the evening actress Vanessa Redgrave had received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Julia.” Outside the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, where the award ceremony was being held, members of the Jewish Defense League had picketed the awards due to the fact that Redgrave had narrated the pro-Palestine documentary “The Palestinians.” When Redgrave gave her acceptance speech, she thank the usual people: family, co-stars, director. She then thanked her fellow Academy members for not being phased by “the Zionist hoodlums” they encountered outside. She finished her speech to boos from the audience.

Looking perturbed, Chayefsky stood at the microphone and said the following, “Before I get on to the writing awards, there’s a little matter I’d like to tidy up–at least if I expect to live with myself tomorrow morning. I would like to say, personal opinion, of course, that I’m sick and tired of people exploiting the occasion of the Academy Awards for the propagation of their own personal political propaganda.” As the audience applauded he paused, then continued. “I would like to suggest to Miss Redgrave that her winning an Academy Award is not a pivotal moment in history, does not require a proclamation, and a simple ‘thank you’ would have sufficed.”

And THAT, dear readers, is what I’m looking forward to coming this Sunday night. Award shows are a way to escape from the day to day grind the world holds for us. To sit with friends and try to win the Oscar pool. NOT to hear whose a lousy President or why global warming is coming to kill us. Do you know who I voted for in the presidential election? No you don’t. Do you know why? Because it’s none of your business. And why does it matter? If YOUR decision on who to vote for is based on MY decision – or George Clooney’s or Brad Pitt’s or Ted Nugent’s – then you shouldn’t be allowed to vote. If Jimmy Kimmel has some fun at the expense of the new President, or pokes fun at the current events happening around the world, that’s great. Everyone likes a good chuckle. So I beg you, presenters and winners both, give a little thanks to the man upstairs and head back to your seat. Thank you in advance!

The LEGO Batman Movie Review

The LEGO Batman is a new way of depicting the Superhero Genre. Unlike the other movies in the same genre, The LEGO stands out to be a different movie. The movie begins usually as most of the Hollywood flicks do, with different angles of the camera showing different scenes.

The movie begins after three years the LEGO universe is saved. The Batman is now on the quest to fight out a battle against the cruel Joker. However, this time around, the Batman has its adopted son LEGO who is going to fight against the Joker. LEGO must transform into Robin in order to fight the Joker.

The movie has its own twists and turns and it does make you involved as the Script is intelligently written and executed. During the mid time of the movie, it does get a bit serious as the LEGO is now on a dangerous mission to fight the evil ones. This movie’s story is quite straightforward and it does not waste much time to arrive to the point. The best part of the whole movie is the cute costume of the Batman and his son. If you are a fan of the previous versions of the Batman and the Dark Knight, you will enjoy watching this movie.

The Best Horse Racing Movies

Horse racing is a hugely popular sport enjoyed by millions of spectators, horse and sporting fans from around the world.

Aside from the general lovers of the sport it’s also become an increasingly popular sporting event amongst gamblers of all skill levels including amateurs looking simply to place the odd bet in hope that they’ll be able to pick a winner and land themselves a windfall.

And it’s the often unpredictable nature of the sport and the thrill of the race that keeps them coming back for more.

Whilst my racing tips may not hold you in good stead with the bookies at least movie fans can take solace in my pick of the best horse racing movies for you to enjoy.

INTERNATIONAL VELVET (1978)

It’s arguably the most well known movie that revolves around the world of horse racing and this late 70’s drama starring Christopher Plummer, Anthony Hopkins, Nanette Newman and a young Tatum O’Neal is one of the most memorable.

The story follows a young girl who goes to live with her aunt (Velvet Brown) in England after her parents are killed in a car crash. Velvet herself was a successful jockey who just missed out on a Grand National victory after being disqualified when she was at a similar age to that of Sarah.

Her young protégé soon becomes hungry for success and along with her horse Arizona Pie competes at the Olympics.

SEABISCUIT (2003)

Nominated for 7 Oscars, but sadly not managing to pick up any awards on the night, is this popular adaptation of the bestselling novel by author Laura Hillenbrand.

The story itself was based loosely on the true story of Thoroughbred race horse ‘Seabiscuit’ who despite many drawbacks managed to win a number of events unexpectedly making him an overnight success in the racing world during the Great Depression.

The movie itself starring Tobey Maguire, Chris Cooper and Jeff Bridges follows the championship horse and his relationship with his jockey, trainer and owner.

RACING STRIPES (2005)

In this hilarious sporting children’s comedy the focus is purely on the racing world with one minor difference, the racer just happens to be a circus zebra.

The abandoned beast is saved and raised by a former Thoroughbred-racehorse trainer and his daughter and grows up to believe himself to be a horse.

In later years he finally gets his chance to race along with Chan Walsh (the trainer’s daughter, played by the beautiful Hayden Panettiere. It’s a heart-warming family friendly affair and one that those of all ages can enjoy.

50 TO 1 (2014)

There have been plenty of examples of horse-based sporting action in the movie world throughout the decades and still to this day every now and again a filmmaker will dip into the exciting world of horse racing.

Just a few years back award winning writer/director Jim Wilson gave us ’50 to 1’, the true story of Mine That Bird, the undersized thoroughbred that caused one of the biggest upsets in racing history when he rode to victory to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

Couples Most Likely to Split in 2017

Last year one of Hollywood’s most glamorous super couples, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (Brangelina), rocked the world by announcing they had decided to split after twelve years together; which sent several adoring fans into meltdown. Accompanied by the controversial divorce of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard following a mere two-year marriage and the near-miss with Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, 2016 certainly left us uncertain about the sanctity of marriage.

Realistically, it is not unusual for celebrity couples to break up. With many obstacles to face, such as   lengthy separations while working on set or performing, the constant media attention and of course, a life-long battle against their own egotism; it seems as though our favorite high profiled couples are practically doomed from the start. While we’re usually rooting for a couple to make it, there are times when we can already predict that it probably won’t work out. With this in mind, here are the odds of the couples most likely to split in 2017:

David Beckham & Victoria Beckham – 5/1 Odds:

Dubbed as “Posh and Becks”, former footballer David Beckham and Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham married in 1999 after a two-year relationship, with their wedding reception costing an estimated £500,000 and have remained one of Hollywood’s most highly followed relationships since. The couple have four children together: sons Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, Romeo James Beckham, Cruz David Beckham and daughter Harper Seven Beckham. Labelled Britain’s most famous celebrity couple, The Beckham family have made millions portraying their relationship as the perfect marriage.

However, previous revelations about the couple from their former nanny, claimed David Beckham wanted ‘to split’ from the marriage, and that Victoria was in tears over rumors of his affairs with other women. Allegations of steamy affairs with his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos, model Sarah Marbeck and the couple’s beautician Danielle Heath have also been revealed against the former England captain, although he still maintains his innocence. Could 2017 feature the final nail in the coffin for the couple?

Khloe Kardashian & Tristian Thompson – 2/1 Odds:

Although they only started dating in October 2016, the predictions of reality TV star Khloe Kardashian and basketball player Tristian Thompson splitting up are seemingly high already. Considering Thompson’s ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig, gave birth to his first son in December, could the new arrival drive a wedge between the couple?

Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis -19/1 Odds:

Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis have some of the highest betting odds; meaning although surprising, they have clearly been doubted enough to feature on the list. The couple’s seemingly perfect love story began in 2012, when Kunis began dating her former That ’70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher, who she became engaged to by February 2014 and married in July 2015. During their relationship, the acting duo have had two children together – daughter Wyatt Isabelle (born October 2014) and son Dimitri Portwood Kutcher (born November 2016).

Despite their seemingly perfect relationship, in October 2014, Kutcher was accused of cheating on Kunis during the early days of their relationship with make-up artist Linn Massinger, who allegedly possessed pictures which appeared to show her and Kutcher cuddling in bed together. Although the claimed affair was never confirmed, perhaps Kutcher could be tempted elsewhere?

Adam Levine & Behati Prinsloo – 2/1 Odds:

Labelled as People magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’, Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine and Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo began dating back in May 2012 and were eventually married in July 2014. Since then, Prinsloo has recently given birth to the couple’s first child, a daughter, in September 2016.

Sadly, rumors have hinted that Levine and Prinsloo are facing a lot of troubles in their marriage, which could lead to divorce. Sources have claimed that the iconic singer and the modelling beauty have been consistently fighting over several differences, with further reports suggesting that Levine hooked up with Miley Cyrus during their time on The Voice. Will the rumors be confirmed as the truth?

Jimmy Fallon & Nancy Juvonen – 3/1 Odds:

After meeting on the set of Fever Pitch, comedian Jimmy Fallon and film producer Nancy Juvonen began dating in May 2007 after Drew Barrymore invited Fallon to a birthday party, which she threw for Juvonen. A few months later, Fallon proposed to Juvonen in August 2007 and the pair married four months later. They have two daughters – Winnie Rose, born in 2013, and Frances Cole, born in 2014.

Despite being married for almost a decade, the couple have been accused of nearly breaking up several times in the past few years; with the rumors beginning in 2015 when Fallon was allegedly suffering from a drinking problem. Will they make it to their tenth wedding anniversary?

Why Tom Brady’s Career Would Make The Perfect NFL Dynasty Movie

Tom Brady” (CC BY-SA 2.0) by Keith Allison

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots just get better and better. On February 5th 2017, the 39-year-old produced one of the greatest Super Bowl comebacks to lead New England to a shock victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Nobody ever doubted Brady’s ability to put pressure on Atlanta’s defence in the second half but overturning a 25-point margin took him to a league of his own.

Being completely honest, you could definitely make an entertaining and dramatic film based purely on Super Bowl 51. But when you look back over Brady’s illustrious career, you see the entire story from college to draft day, from his Patriots debut to his first Super Bowl and to the present day; a five-time NFL champion. And it’s the stuff of cinema for sure.

When he was drafted by New England with the 199th overall pick in 2000, nobody expected Brady to achieve much at all, let alone win nine AFC Championship titles and five Super Bowl rings – we’ve all seen Draft Day after all… Time and time again, Brady has overcome diversity to prove everybody wrong, and that certainly makes for a great Hollywood story. In true underdog fashion, 31 other franchises passed on Brady in the NFL Draft. Even the Patriots opted to look elsewhere in the first five rounds.

In a way, Brady has been the Adam Sandler of New England; controlling proceedings from quarterback just as Sandler does in The Longest Yard. And while some may claim that Bill Belichick, Brady’s long-time head coach at New England, holds many similarities to the warden in that particular movie, his influence at the top has been a key reason for Brady’s success at the position.

An interesting point to consider is the timing of a potential Brady movie. Do you start filming now whilst he is still playing or focus on developing an idea and then produce the movie when he’s retired? For now, Brady will remain focused on helping New England in their bid to win a sixth Super Bowl crown. According to some reports, the Patriots have already filed to trademark “Blitz for Six” and fans may be set for more “Belichickian” terms and phrases in the coming months.

The Patriots have dominated American football in the USA in recent years and a film focused on main man Brady may be well received should New England succeed in their “Blitz for Six”. One documentary, Year of the Quarterback: The Brady 6″ has emphasised on the respective careers of those quarterbacks selected before the New England man in the NFL Draft that year but it is time for a film-maker to turn attention to the greatest quarterback of all-time.

You won’t see another story quite like this in sport and if New England, +550 to win next year’s Super Bowl in bet365’s American football betting markets, can secure another title, every media platform in the United States would be looking to film and broadcast the documentary. Tom Brady is now bigger than a football player. He is a global icon and his sporting successes could very well plateau him onto the big screen in the coming years.

Whether you like him or not, Tom Brady’s achievements deserve plenty of respect and you have to admire his hunger to succeed on the big stage. The “Brady or Joe Montana” debate is subjective of course, but the New England man is certainly a bigger star than Montana ever was, and a movie based around his entire football career could potentially go down as one of the greatest sports films to hit the cinema.

The Top 3 Movies To Create That Romantic Atmosphere

Cinematography is an integral part of our lives. It is really hard to imagine our world without movies. Millions of couples are thankful to the cinema that made their first dates successful and gave a chance to continue their relationships. Millions of working people can’t imagine their leisure time after a long working day without watching movies on the sofa with a bucket of popcorn.

As for me, a nerdy single woman, cinema is a silent friend who always knows how to cheer me up, support and console me. Everything is simple. When I am upset and want just to be sad I watch my favorite tearjerker like ‘P.S. I Love You’ and have a good weep. When I need to get a shot of adventurism I view ‘Ocean’s 11’ (though I am not a gambler at all and have not even click on Nederlandsegokken NL website of online casino or any other site of this kind, not once) and ‘Casino’ by Martin Scorsese.

Now when Saint Valentine’s Day is coming with all its common attributes like hearts and ‘love is in the air’ songs, it really becomes stressful to outlive this holiday when you are alone (I guess, many singles know this feeling). And again I resort to the art of cinema. It comes to the rescue, shows me amazing love stories and reminds me that someday love will find me. Meanwhile, I enjoy my 3 top movies that create the appropriate romantic atmosphere in an unobtrusive way.

  1. ‘Hitch’

I never get tired of watching this movie again and again. It is my antidepressant and a source of optimism, and at the same time is a reminder that men can suffer from unanswered love or be afraid of being refused. The monologue of Alex “Hitch” Hitchens the role of which was so brilliantly played by Will Smith is the most powerful scene I like the most. In this film love wins everything and two love stories are happily ended, to my great joy.

  1. ‘Love and Basketball’

This film is a bit dramatic and make me worry about two main characters that are Quincy and Monica. The love to basketball was the first thing that united both of them. This sport was the background on which a long love story of Quincey and Monica developed. I like this movie because it shows that nothing is more precious than love and family. And if love is true, nothing can separate two loving hearts.

  1. ‘Something New’ by Sanaa Hamri

I adore this movie, and nobody will be able to convince me that ‘Something new’ is a regular melodrama. To my mind, it is a hymn to love overcoming social norms, prejudices and even our own misperceptions. And the thing here is not only in the issue of color, but also in so many frames and restrictions society puts like age, level of wealth or education. Love tramples on all conventions in this movie, and the leading characters Kenya McQueen and Brian Kelly get marry.

Making Deposits at Online Casinos

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, making purchases online has never been easier. Many payment options are not only reliable but also fast and easily accessible, making online banking the norm for everyday purchases. Almost anything can be purchased online as long as you have the required banking accounts and funds. Online casinos have needed to ensure the safety and security of player’s money, as it is an industry that deals with millions of dollars’ worth of funds on a daily basis. Legitimate gambling sites like Roxy Palace Online Casino accept a variety of reliable and trusted banking solutions, including credit and debit cards, e-wallets, prepaid card services, Bitcoin and more. In this article, we cover possible deposit options you may have at online casinos to help you decide the best one to suit your needs.

Credit/Debit Cards

Using a credit or debit card to fund your account at online casinos is probably one of the most popular methods as almost anybody using Internet banking has access to either a debit or credit card, or both. MasterCard, Maestro, Visa and American Express are probably the most popular cards out there as it is very fast and completely safe, as long as you are playing at a safe and legitimate online casino. Making a deposit with Visa or MasterCard is simple, as you just have to supply the casino with your billing address, card number, expiration date and CVV code. While these payment methods are generally safe, the drawback is that you may not be able to withdraw from these accounts and you will probably have to set up an additional payment method like PayPal or Neteller to cash out and there may also be a waiting period, which is standard when making withdrawals. Overall, credit and debit payments are the most popular options for a reason and allow you to transfer massive amounts of money without having to pay excessive fees.

E-wallets

E-wallets are extremely popular at online casinos thanks to high processing speeds and low fees. The online casino will usually receive your funds immediately once transacted, which means you can start playing instantly without having to wait around. That being said, e-wallets like Neteller and PayPal are very fussy about online casinos and gambling as well as accepting funds from certain countries with strict gambling laws. If you are playing from a country where online gambling is illegal, the chances are that this deposit method won’t work. Additionally, some casinos may offer a bonus to players who choose to make a deposit using an e-wallet, so it is a good idea to check with your online casino to see if they offer this bonus.

Prepaid Cards

Prepaid cards are similar to debit and credit cards but are a bit more discreet regarding privacy. Most online casinos that accept debit and credit cards will also accept prepaid cards, so all you have to do is get a card, load it with funds and start playing at your favorite online casino. These cards can be reloaded locally and online. Not all online casinos accept prepaid cards or only accept certain cards available on the market, so make sure your online casino accepts your prepaid card before making a commitment to the site. Additionally, make sure that your card has been cleared for international and online transactions, as certain domestic-only prepaid cards are not allowed at online casinos.

Cash Transfer Services

Money orders are another popular choice for online gamblers, particularly American players. The best thing about making a payment via the Western Union or MoneyGram is that it is extremely reliable and safe. Sending money via money order is a little more complicated than the other methods and requires you to first register your credit card before contacting the casino’s support staff and requesting the payment information. Once you have made the transaction (which includes a few more steps), you must send the Money Transfer Control Number to the casino, and they must confirm the transaction. Remember that these methods usually require a fee, so it is best to only use cash transfer services for bigger amounts. If you prefer, you may visit your local financial institution to make a cash transfer, eliminating the need to create an online account or using your credit card to fund it.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin is an open-source digital currency that is slowly becoming more and more available in the online gambling market. The currency was introduced in 2009 and offers completely anonymous banking. This currency is not controlled by the government or any financial institutions. Bitcoin started out being kind of gimmicky but has become a global phenomenon with a total market capitalization exceeding $10 billion at the end of 2013. Trading your bitcoins for traditional currency is simple and requires you to visit one of the numerous bitcoin exchange sites on the Internet, although the exchange rates are not fixed and are constantly changing. While the majority of online casinos doesn’t accept bitcoin, the industry is slowly warming up to the idea of bitcoins, with more online casinos accepting it as a payment option.
