Alex Reid is known for her role of Beth in “The Descent”. Movie Mikes had a chance to talk with Alex about her role in the film and her upcoming film “Guinea Pigs”.

Mike Gencarelli: How did you originally get the role in “The Descent”
Alex Reid: I met with the director a couple of times and just talked about the script and films in general. Then read with a few different other actors one of which was Nora Jane Noone and also quite an amusing audition with Shauna McDonald where we had to crawl through and under chairs pretending to be in caves!!
Mike Gencarelli: What was the most intense part of working on “The Descent”?
Alex Reid: The most intense part was probably some of the physical preparation before shooting started. We climbed, went potholing and rafted etc The actual shoot I don’t remember being too intense because we had a lot of fun and it was a very calm set.
Mike Gencarelli: Are you typically a fan of the horror genre?
Alex Reid: I wouldn’t say I was any more of a fan of horror than any other genre, i just love good stories and great film making.
MG: How was it returning for the “The Descent: Part 2”?
AR: I went back to do a day on “Descent 2”. It was good to be with the girls and Neil again.
MG: How do you feel “Part 2” compares to the original?
AR: I really couldn’t compare the two films because I haven’t seen Descent 2.
MG: What can you tell us your role Sally in the TV series “Misfits”?
AR: When I first read the scripts for Misfits they made me laugh out loud. I wasn’t sure that the channel would be bold enough to go with some of the material, but it’s all in there. I play the vengeful probation worker to the five main actors.
MG: Tell us about “Guinea Pigs” that you are currently filming and starring in?
AR: “Guinea Pigs” is essentially a story about group of people who offer themselves up for drug trials. They are from all different backgrounds and taking part for various reasons. I liked how many avenues we could explore with this situation given the effects It would have on each individual. It was an ambitious shoot to tell a story like this in such a short space of time, it’ll be interesting to see how it all works out as it went through a lot of changes during the shoot.
